Great food, good coffee, very well priced and relaxing vibe! Great place! Should try!

It’s very dark here, very little natural light. Décor is okay, but sorta just looks like somewhere that’s been forgotten about, neglected for several generations. Sorta depressing, but maybe that’s just me. But the slowest service I’ve ever experienced. 20 minutes for an Americano in a near empty house — I’m not even exaggerating!

Excellent bagel & sandwich menu, a great ambiance for lingering with your laptop or homework or book, Vanessa is delightful, and they have the best cup of black coffee in the neighborhood!

For nearly two years, I have been going to this café regularly. Super friendly owners and staff, great coffee and food and this is my favorite spot in the neighborhood. I recommend number 2 on breakfast menu in a croissant or italian sandwich from lunch menu. Trust me!

Good coffee and really yummy sandwiches and oatmeal. Great place to come for breakfast/lunch and great work environment. It can get crowded at times, but it’s never too bad. There are long tables with 6 chairs each(all kind of vintage and mismatched) and outlets with space for 4 plugs. There are always a few people sitting at their laptops and getting some work done. The music could be better, but it’s not too loud so that you can just put in earplugs if you don’t like it. My only negatives are that it can take a while to get your coffee/food because often there is only one person working behind the counter. Also, the half of the place that’s occupied by tables can get dark because the lighting is low. The place has an awning, so sunlight isn’t necessarily beaming through. It’s okay if you’re on your laptop, but not good for reading or writing.

Went here while visiting Bushwick, the space was really cool and the coffee wasn’t bad. Service was a little abrasive –which is likely to be expected in Bushwick. They had flavoured Italian hot chocolates which were apparently very good.

Stumbled upon this café late evening looking for a café that was open that hour. This place is seriously located on a creepy street. lol the place was empty when I had arrived. I ordered a dirty chai tea latte and it was sooo not tasty at all… I seriously took a sip and couldn’t swallow it. yeah that bad. the drink was also lukewarm.:/

Experience here very varied. Service on weekends is terrible because the owners are not the ones making drinks and food. The staff is very inexperienced. I came here several times on weekends and have decided to not do that again. Every time I order a chai latte it comes with no milk foam and warm croissant sandwich comes with a cold croissant. Very disappointed in the quality of service on weekends.

You know how Friends have Central Perk, we have Ange Noir. :-) Vanessa and Anguy are the best! Food is delicious, always fresh. Made with love.

Before heading over to Robert’s for a late lunch, we stopped by Ange Noir to find a place to cool off and chill out without walking around too much and getting ourselves lost. At 2:30PM in the afternoon, there weren’t too many people hanging out, and by the time we left(about 45 minutes later), the entire place had nearly emptied out. A simple red awning and a red bench around the tree outside signify that you’re at Ange Noir, and going in sitting down(much less ordering something) seems to be perfectly fine. We didn’t want to spoil our appetite too much, so we split the ‘duo’ grilled cheese sandwich and had a couple beverages. The grilled cheese was a bit inconsistent — while the cheeses themselves(cheddar and mozzarella) really work well together, it seemed like only one of the sandwich slices actually melted at all; the other one looked like the cheddar and mozzarella had been smashed together but didn’t look like it had been grilled much, if at all. The bread was pretty plain, too… I don’t mind multigrain bread, but I expected it to be a bit more buttered up given it is a grilled cheese sandwich. My wife went with the ice chocolate(basically cold hot chocolate served with ice) — very smooth flavor and pretty much like drinking chocolate. I had one of the canned beers in the front display fridge(they were not listed, just a ‘Beer — $ 6′ on the chalkboard in small print)…craft imperial IPA from Chicago that was solid in flavor and pretty drinkable despite the high ABV. In all — a chill place to chill. It’s got some nice touches, like the ‘Hell’ phone booth between the front and back areas, and the wheel rims that serve as lamps on the sides of the walls. I wasn’t blown away, but perhaps when I’m back in the neighborhood I will give it another shot.

We come here for the oatmeal but the coffee is good too. The oatmeal comes in a bucket(with a handle) with apple and banana and walnut and honey. It’s delicious. The service is great too and it’s nice and comfortable. Also, I’m writing this post on their wifi… So it works.

Hidden café with great sandwiches, totally underrated lunch spot. They have their own sauce, called Ange Noir, which I highly recommend trying. Their Italian sandwich was particularly delicious. Free wifi, never crowded.

Just the best local coffee shop in the neighborhood! Everything tastes fresh and I’ve always had room to sit down with my computer and work. Very nice atmosphere that makes this place kind of feel like home!

Really quality coffee shop. Lovely French barista served me an espresso in a mini mason jar, a coffee in a massive mug, and a delicious chocolate chip cookie. I saw some of the bagels that people were getting and immediately wished I had gotten one of those as well. There is plenty of seating in mismatched furniture and a small stage that hosts live music. Great vibe and quality offerings. (Free wifi as well)

good music. really loved my iced dirty chai. I could really taste the chai and the espresso was not overwhelming. I usually add sugar to my drinks, but i found no need to do so with my perfectly balanced beverage with just my skim milk. if I didnt live so far away id regularly visit.

I hosted a gig /birthday party here and it couldn’t have been better. Vanessa, the owner, was super helpful, responsive, and easy to work with. She ordered us a huge, delicious cake that people couldn’t stop talking about. Everyone also loved the food. They do simple sandwiches and salads, but they do them really well. The café now serves beer and wine, making it a great evening spot for music and hanging out. They have a piano, drum kit, amps, two mics, and a few guitars in-house, making the band set-up pretty painless. For a place that doesn’t necessarily specialize in live shows, the sound quality was more than decent. I can’t wait to see this place grow from a daytime coffee spot to a go-to destination for live music and laid-back drinks.

The French couple who work here are awesome and they can make a kick ass sandwhich. I ordered the Italian(I think)? It was a panini with prosciutto & provolone and it was amazing. The wifi is fast. The atmosphere is inviting. The red phone booth is awesome. Apparently there are tarot card readings every Tuesday.

You cannot miss Ange Noir — look for red phone booth wrapped around the tree, and another one as an entrance next door. It’s situated on a quiet street right across from Green gym. I am not big fan of their coffee, but I rather like the atmosphere, and food is simple and pretty good. It is very casual and home-like, perfect to read a book or just unwind at lunch time… Seating is along wooden communal tables — usually easy to find a seat. So grab a grilled cheese sandwich(great blend of cheeses, melted between slices of 7 grain bread — oh, so good!), pick your drink and take a break from everything — be it work, daily hassles or annoying phone. Sit down, enjoy the food and your day.

One of the best cafes in Brooklyn! They take credit too. The indie sandwich is AMAZING! Very cool, genuine and welcoming atmosphere and they always play the best music. Great place to study and people watch.(Update) after trying other coffee places nearby I have to say that I will always be coming back here. My first time here I tired the indie and now I’ve had almost everything. I didn’t realize when I first came here that they also sell beer and wine! Can anyone say day drunk? I also just tried the pink mimosa. Perfect drink for the spring time!
