Crisp on the outside. Gooey, warm and unctuous inside. Basil pesto was my favorite. Get the sauce to dip.

I love rice balls so on my recent whole foods trip, i got myself three for $ 6. I got the regular one which i think was ricotta and tomato sauce, the mushroom one and the spinach one. They were the perfect bite size. The outside was so crisp. The only complaint I have was as I was eating the three in a row, I thought I was eating one flavor but it turned out to be another. So therefore maybe the flavors all tasted similar. The best one was the ricotta one.

It’s a couple of months since last time I went to WholeFoods 3rd&3rd. Next to the sushi stand this time I saw a pile of egg boxes and I said… Am I sleeping or what? Isn’t this the Mexican stand?! What is he doing with a pile of egg boxes? Happy to realize(because I am a fan of another Mexican place next home) that there was a NEW food stand there! It’s an «arancini» focused stand. They only make arancini. For those who don’t know about Arancini yet: it’s a ball(can be small or big –but not big big, let’s say bigger) of white rice hiding a heart of meatsauce and peas(this is the original from Sicily) or parmigiana, mushrooms, mozzarella… anything which might be tasty and stay well with rice and then all rolled in breadcrumbs and deeply fried :-) I like the small arancini best, I eat the big ones only is Sicily or where I know that it’s not all rice with a bit of sauce but a good mix of all. Hope these guys will stay here at WholeFoods as I like food shopping while snacking an arancino… it’s perfect finger food!
