Bedford Abe for the most part opens most of its shops at 11am but bagelsmith shows love early on And Chris definitely looked out for me by throwing extra peppers and cheese in the home fries that were banging. Now I wouldn’t go ahead and label their home fries as the best but bagelsmith is becoming one of my few go to moves that I keep in the playbook

Great place to stop for a quick and cheap bacon egg & cheese, and even perch to read while sipping on some good coffee. My go-to bagel place to duck into after hopping off the L.

Over 1.5hrs since ordering 2 bagels and still waiting, avoid ordering from here if you’re hungry

The selection and quality of bagels merits the name Bagelsmith. I was especially impressed by their tofu spreads. However, breakfast rushes are real and delivery takes hours even outside of breakfast time. Visit for the food, but be prepared to wait for it.

Coming from Michigan, this place was my first real New York bagel and it was absolutely amazing. I had the everything bagel with tomato basil cream cheese. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any combination of bagel-cream cheese here. For those who are lactose or vegan, they also have tofu spread options. My friend opted for a tofu spread and it was surprisingly very good. Combine the bagel with a cup of coffee from a local coffee shop around the area and you’ve got the best quick breakfast. As a note, they’re VERY generous with the cream cheese spreads so it might get a little messy. However, service wasn’t the greatest. At the time, the place was jam-packed but the individual taking orders was incredibly impatient and would roll his eyes if people didn’t hear his«NEXTT». Definitely did not seem like he wanted to be there. Thankfully interactions with him were for 10 seconds so I present the four stars for everything else.

The bagels were alright here and they had so many cream cheese options… But I thought Peter Pan did a way better ham and cheese breakfast bagel sandwich than Bagelsmith. Cream cheese is a must here for a boost in flavor, that may have been my mistake. I got regular cheese and the ham was ice cold so that threw everything off. This was also the only place I ordered food in NY where everything felt incredibly rushed and the employee’s annoyed. I get it, this is a before work stop but it’s not my problem you hate your job. I might come back to try something different but so far there are better bagel stops.

I went to this bagel shop in March and now that I am going back to Brooklyn on Wednesday this place is first on my list. I loved the tofu cream cheese and everything bagel, I can still taste it. It was absolutely perfect. YAS

Bagels at Bagelsmith are divine — you really can’t go wrong with any of the cream cheese spreads and bagel options. I had a whole wheat everything bagel with lox and scallion cream cheese and all the fixins(tomatoes, capers, red onions). It totally hit the spot for an on-the-go breakfast/brunch. We were stuffed afterward, but luckily we could slowly meander through Bedford and pretend like we were window shopping during our food coma. Looking forward to getting delivery for all my future hangover mornings!

For a Brooklyn bagel store, this place falls short. The bagels are simply not good. I got a plain bagel, toasted with plain cream cheese. After 2 bites, I threw it away. Dunkin Donuts has better bagels than this place. The bagel was barely toasted, was cold in fact. It was very dense and not much flavor at all. Really not sure how this place has 4 stars. As I live up the street, this was my second trip. I figured maybe something happened the first time. **updated review: owner is on top of things. Responded to my review trying to find out what went wrong. I gave an extra star for that. I still don’t care for the bagels though. I guess once you have had a bagel from Murray’s or Bagel Boss, it’s tough to compete. But please try! Their bagels and spread are perfect in consistency and chewiness. Carry on BagelSmith. You are doing something right based on your reviews. I guess I’m just a bagel snob.

Got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, tomato, cucumber and sprouts and somehow it came out to nearly $ 6. Whatever, that’s fine. Unwrap the package to eat at the shop and discover that it’s cut in half — but only through the top half of the bagel. I very nicely asked the girl at the register if they could cut it all the way through and she literally glares at me and says they can’t take bagels back once I’ve taken it. I repeat my request of having them cut the bagel properly so that I could eat it. Maybe I wasn’t articulating my request clearly… I finally asked for a knife so that I could cut it myself. Regardless of the absolutely terrible service, the bagel itself was super mediocre. Try somewhere else.

Every time when I’m visiting Williamsburg I have to get some bagels at Bagelsmith. There’s a lot of different bagels, cream cheeses, meats. It’s always fresh. Service is fast and nice

I don’t take poor reviews lightly but after 4 attempts(fool me once, shame on you, fool me 4 times well, shame on you still) at getting bagels here I am officially done. I have been overcharged every single time for items that they never put on my bagel. Today I ordered a bagel with cream cheese onions, avocado and tomato. It took the stoner behind the counter two times to get it right because he gave me the wrong bagel. I waited for TENMINUTES. I paid $ 5. I eat the bagel later and there are no tomatoes or onions. This has happened EVERYSINGLETIME. I expect to get what I paid for. It’s the only bagel shop in the immediate area and I’m here a lot for work but it’s not worth the headache.

Love the Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Tofu cream cheese Spread! Food — 4⁄5 Value — 3⁄5 Space — 3⁄5 Décor — 4⁄5 Creativity — 4⁄5 First discovered this place at a food tour — our tour guide mentioned the name of the bagel spread… it was a super long name by the way. At the first mentioned of sun-dried tomato she caught my attention. Then came basil(YES I love Basil) … Cream cheese(YESYES) … huh and Tofu? Did I hear something wrong? Is my asian mother standing behind me and whispering«Tofu Tofu» in my ears? The tour guide repeated again and apparently she also read my mind. «You all probably heard me right the first time. I did say Tofu cream cheese and it’s delicious…» She was right about it being delicious, I mean how can it not? Everything I love was in there. You actually cannot taste the tofu in the bagel but an added softness and bounciness. Instead of thick heavy cream cheese with bread when you feel sorry for eating it afterward, this bagel was incredibly light, fluffy, and bouncy like a marshmallow without the sugar. It was like magic. I actually didn’t feel sickly bloated and bad about eating the whole bagel in one shot as I usually eat half at a time to combat food coma. Did I mention that the bagel itself was chewy, moist and had the right amount of denseness? Definitely try the everything(or sesame) bagel with the sun-dried tomato basil tofu cream cheese spread. I also tried the Lox bagel with smoked salmon, tomato, onion, and scallion tofu cream cheese but it was not very special and pricy compare to other bagel /deli places.

I went here on an early Sunday afternoon. It was very crowded and had a line to the door. The line moved fairly quickly and food came out in a timely matter. There was lots to choose from. I went with a B.L.T on a garlic bagel($ 5). The bacon was far too crunchy to my liking and the bagel was just meh. There was very little mayo as well. I suppose I should have asked for more mayo, but still. For the bagel, it had a garlic taste, but the bagel substance itself was just blah. It could have been sitting out for a long time but I was very disappointed regardless. Will I go back? Debatable.

I don’t know what they’ve been feeding us in the south but my definition of bagel definitely changed after bagelsmith. Perfect combination of soft and chewy with a bangin’ selection of cream cheeses. I had the breakfast sandwich with egg, sprouts, tomato and sundried tomato tofu spread. It was fantastic. The sandwich plus a mini black and white cookie set me back about $ 7.

Good lord why is this place rated so highly? Gabi A has a couple of theories why: a) this is the only bagel shop on bedford ave/north side williamsburg area b) the people who frequent this establishment are non native New Yorkers who haven’t learned what a proper bagel is supposed to taste like c) they have tofu cream cheese flavors for you vegans out there For this neighborhood I expected higher quality bagels. These bagels are not fresh whatsoever. They are stale and way too hard. I’m pretty sure the bagels aren’t made on premise. The service is rather slow for a bagel joint. Perhaps I caught the staff here on a bad day(Tuesday @ 10am) but irregardless these bagels are stale and OVERPRICED. Thanks but no thanks bagelsmith.
