Pastries have turned to total crap in the last year, used to be flakey and buttery, now just a puff of tasteless dry wonder bread… and coffee is NEVER hot, everything else however is just fine… be it a tad pricey but hey the rents to dam high!

My husband and I have been looking for a great croissant and a baguette ever since we got back from Paris. We discovered this place just by chance, and were blown away by the quality of this shop’s pastries and bread. Absolutely superb – the best chocolate croissant in Brooklyn. The baguette was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. This place can easily rival Paris’ Eric Kayser bakery – hands down the best croissant/baguette I’ve had in Paris!!! The service at Baguetteaboudit is superb, and we cannot wait to come back!!!

Why isn’t this place averaging 4 or 5 stars?! It’s one of the newer places in the neighborhood that is NOT pretentious or expensive AND serves high quality, fresh food. The service in here is always with a smile, everyone’s friendly, great food and coffee. I’ve mostly had the hot breakfast and lunch sandwiches(the lamb sausage one is my favorite) and they don’t disappoint. My iced Americano is always perfectly made, and they have a variety of dairy and non dairy milks that they actually refrigerate(so nasty when other coffee places just leave it on a warm counter). Good portion size too, as many of the lunch sandwiches come with a side salad. All around solid place, check it out.

Quickest super delicious breakfast in the hood. Awesome fresh omelette with cheddar and thick bacon on a flaky croissant, dressed side salad, fresh pressed juice and coffee: $ 15 in 5minutes. Hit the spot today. Thanks!

I have a weird schedule and I work from home, so Im always looking for good breakfast/brunch delivery places. I came across this one, and I ordered twice, the first time the food was ok, nothing exceptional. I ordered a sandwich, can’t remember which one, but I do remember that I open it, and it was completely destroyed, probably from poorly transportation. I wanted to give them a second chance, so I ordered a second time. Not only the food was terrible(cold and not worth the price, also part of the order was incorrect), but the delivery guy had an awful attitude. On top of that, he almost instigate me to leave a review here because, as he said, ‘that’s how restaurants stay in business’. Well, here is your review. I don’t think I would be ordering from them again.

Food was subpar. Chewy croissants and poorly made espresso. Extensive menu… Not much follow through. The décor is a bit kitschy, as well.

After being back in the states from my trip to Paris, I was looking for something to eat. Nothing seemed to quite grab my attention, I was missing the fresh baguettes from Paris, when all of a sudden I stumbled upon Baguettaboutit. I almost cried, now my third time here. The food is delicious and made with love. The people that work there love what they do, and make sure that you are satisfied with your meal. The iced mocha is breath taking! I definitely recommend this place! I love the sandwiches too!

Love the multigrain croissant and also all the other bakeries. They are made fresh on the premises and served warm. The owner is a real Brooklyn guy, and seems like an important part of the community. Talk to him for 30 seconds and you will realize that you are in good hands. This is the Brooklyn way.

Only had 2 types of bagels. Didn’t have croissants. Staff still messed up my PB&J bagel… Gave me jelly and butter. Cute atmosphere though.

This spot is my daily breakfast spot. The pastries are off the hook and they use only top quality vegetables. Sandwiches and juices are off the hook. Don’t eat any of the multigrain croissants cuz they’re all mine man!!!

Amazing food and great place for a coffee. Will definitely be back for the live music. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere with music in the background. Looking forward to trying the other dishes on the menu! The staff offer great service, from engaging with kids to giving some interesting background facts about the café with many customers being on a first name basis. A must try for those who live near by!

The sandwiches are really delicious and it is reasonably priced and has a nice atmosphere. The service is very slow and they did mess up our order slightly but still really good food and you can tell they are working hard.

Have not eaten in house but delivery was the worst. It did arrive very quickly but the grilled cheese wasn’t grilled and had an inch of horseradish on it. Really was not impressed. Didn’t eat any of the grilled cheese, ate a little of a chicken sandwich and the chicken was dry.

Got an egg and cheese on a croissant the morning of 10÷7÷2014. Prepared quickly, tasted awesome(no salt, pepper, etc needed), and filled me up! Store is well decorated and the cashier was very friendly. I am surprised that this place is not more highly reviewed on Unilocal

Dropped by for lunch and to watch a World cup match. My partner had the Croque Monsieur and I had the the bistro. Both sandwiches were very tasty – the bacon used was excellent not too greasy but a good smoke flavor. The baguettes used were fresh and nicely toasted. The bakery items looked delicious. On our second visit I tried the raisin brioche, and a bagel & lox. Both were fresh and well prepared. Coffee was fresh, hot and had good strong flavor.

This place is so bad and numerous reviewers have described the reasons for the poor rating: lackluster food; inexplicable waits(for both dining in and delivery); overpriced; and the atmosphere reeks of a cheap Jersey shore storefront. I have tried this place so many times over the years, always hoping that they will get their act together. Always the same result – a complete waste of money and time. But I am curious about why the owner/manager does not listen to any of the advice posted on this website. After all, every time I go by there, the place is a ghost town. Does he not want to improve his business? Everyone here has the same complaints about this place. Why not make some changes that address these repeated concerns? Leads me to believe he either does not know how to make any changes or he does not care what his(potential) clientele think. Or some combination of the two. Either way, it is a damn shame he does not try to make some major modifications to the place… it is in a great spot and has a lot of potential. The place should be hopping. Instead we have a poor excuse for a café in a prime location. What a waste for Clinton Hill.

Large coffee, $ 3, tax included, I guess. The cashier asked me what I wanted in it, which I replied, «Half and half» and then when it was put on the counter, a man said to me abruptly, «What do you want in it?» which just caught me off guard. But I’ll let it go. We grabbed a seat at a high table. It seems like a cute place, I’d try it again for some breakfast food.

If I lived here, this would be part of my daily routine. I cannot understand the cynicism of some reviews… This place is awesome. It looks like a little French bakery and has ample seating for patrons to catch up with friends or read the morning paper. There is a great front display of baked goods that you can smell when you walk in. At first I was a bit disoriented, because in this classically French interior, the people hustling to get coffee to patrons are 2 very Brooklyn dudes. It’s awesome. I talked to the owner who has been in business for 2 years and you can tell this is his passion. He asked one guest about his mother while checking in on the timing of freshly baking croissants. I had a croissant and a regular coffee and both were fantastic. When blood, sweat, tears, and love go into something, it truly tastes better!

The owner was super friendly and accommodating, and somehow know just what I like! The bread was amazing; I had a vegan sandwich on a wheat baguette and my love had a french dip sandwich. They both were delicious and memorable.
