Really great for delivery, especially on a cold night. Their beef phở is excellent and their chicken wings are sooooooo good. They have a nice kick to them with an spicy-Asian flavor twist. Very reliable service, they even showed up earlier than expected the other night. I’ve never dined in the actual restaurant but I always find them on seamless for a nice heart-warming meal at home.

Stopped in on a Monday night for some good Vietnamese eats! It can be a tad confusing because the awning says«Simple Café» which is another restaurant(French) that serves breakfast and lunch. I was running late and my friends had already ordered three apps(but the server spaced them nicely so only one came at a time). First some fresh spring rolls — really fresh and tasty, then fried spring rolls with pork and shrimp, for which the dipping condiment was amazing — very light almost a vinaigrette. Then the chicken wings. I am not sure if these were traditional Vietnamese fried chicken wings but they were amazing. Lightly fried, drizzled with some kind of yummy sauce, and a few sprinkles of what appeared to be sesame seeds and scallions. Then we all ordered the rice vermicelli bowls(steak and shrimp, grilled pork, and grilled lemongrass chicken). I would say the lemongrass chicken had the most flavor in the actual meat — seasoned the best, the steak and shrimp combo provided the most variety. The grilled pork was good but I am not as big of a fan of pork as the other meats, and we had pork in two of the apps. Our other friend got the Phở soup bowl and thought it was really good. Only strange thing was the protein in it was served as a whole slab of pork(or beef? can’t remember). Now, I am certainly not a Phở expert and maybe this is the traditional way to serve/consume it, but it wasn’t very user-friendly to have to break up a slab(about as thick as a breast of chicken) of meat with a large asian soup spoon. When he asked for a knife and fork the waitress was a little put off, but she brought it over. Overall this is a great value for food fresh food. I would say there isn’t much atmosphere here. It is slightly charming because its somewhat rustic, but its definitely not a hip Vietnamese hotspot. Great for good food in the neighborhood, but I wouldn’t make a point to bring out of towners here unless they really want the cuisine that is being served. Also — the beverage selection is fairly limited. Overall I will definitely be back and want to try the banh mi next!

If you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place for you! The menu consists of Vietnamese comfort food with enticing specials like curry chicken and rice noodle soup. An, who is French Vietnamese, manages to capture the essence of home-cooked Vietnamese dishes like phở and fried tofu like my grandmother, but with a charming French twist for those with a more sophisticated palate. Definitely my favorite spot in the hood for a home-cooked Vietnamese meal! What a neighborhood gem!

The banh mi with chicken was a farce. Tiny pieces of dry chicken on a rock hard baguette. When I asked the clumpsy waiter if there was always so little meat on the sandwich, he responded that they cannot afford to put more on it to be profitable. The fresh springroll with pork was salty and very small(about half the size of the one you’ll get in Chinatown). The vermicelli with catfish was pretty OK, but again, very little fish. I’m really disappointed, the dishes are prepared with no care and the service is non existent. It makes me very sad to have such a place in the neighborhood. But now it’s clear to me why this place is always empty. Won’t come back.

This place is really good. I wish they had more Phở selections, but every Bowl I’ve had there is incredible. The spring rolls are better than my usual spot Sao Mai, and their fried chicken wings are the best. The wings are the reason I came here in the first place. Really cool, hip vibe, and the staff is always really nice and happy to chat.

I live in Chinatown. I know Vietnamese food. U go eat Vietnamese food cuz u cheap and want refreshing healthy delicious food. The menu at Bep is small. But it’s exactly what u want at a Vietnamese rest. The staples. Summer rolls, phở, banh mi, and vermicelli noodles aka bún! It’s authentic…(owner is full blown Vietnamese but raised in France) u know it’s gonna be good cuz he’s French(they invented everything possibly great about food). There are some special items that I’ve never had before ie. the veggie rolls.(Tofu, corn mushroom and seitan) that turned me vegetarian for that moment. The phở soup is sooo… Delicious. I usually dont drink phở soup b/c of my OCD eating technique(soup turn too starchy) but when it arrived! Drank all the soup then ate the noodles. The WINGS!!! of course are amazing. Super dangerous cuz it’s fried! But MMM!!! That thai chili sauce. ALLHAILST. MARRYJESUS! The wings r bomb. I can eat a whole tray of them. And by far! That catfish vermicelli bowl! So good! Love that dill! And don’t forget to order the ice coffee! It is the best I’ve ever had! I get one every Saturday at the willyb smorgasburg after my Friday night of partyin. My always go to order is the grilled pork vermicelli bowl cuz it’s the traditional staple. Pork thit nuong and a fried roll! Hellz yeah! The BBQ pork banh mi is my go to when I wanna switch up to a sandwich. And the pork and shrimp wontons r my go to apps. Oh! and btw! I order here every week, if not even more! cuz it’s the only decent priced rest on that south Bedford area. The space is not that foo foo aka(stuffy). French country vibez. Low key and relaxing. Owner is very nice always shopping for the fresh items in Chinatown. Support ur mom pop shops and what’s left of Williamsburg and the Asian community! Oh and there’s a cute Turkish shop in the front too. Love to stop by and see what’s new in the shop on my way to work. Hope this helps Unilocalers! :)

Not recommended. I’ll start by saying the food, although not authentic vietnamese, was delicious. Unfortunately this place gets 1 star for the way they treat their customers. Half way through a bowl of Phở I spotted a pretty large bug floating in the soup. After calling over the waitress, the kitchen staff took the bowl and then proceeded to tell me it was a scallion. Yes, a scallion. They continued to lie and deny that a bug had gotten into the food and the manager was flat out rude. He ended up taking about $ 6 off the total bill but still made us pay for the phở! Had the management and staff not lied, and taken care of this issue appropriately there would’ve been no problem. How can you treat your customers like that? Don’t go here.

Awful awful place. Don’t go here. My brother found a bug in his Phở and the chefs tried to say it was a scallion. The worst part was that they tried to lie to us after we say a beetle in the Phở. The manager then came out and told us he could take off tax on the bill. After finding a bug in the food we at least expected him to give us a free meal. Instead he took $ 6 off the bill. Disgusting place with no respect for the customer, shame on them. Food was good though.

Phở was delicious and the coffee was the best coffee I’ve ever had in my whole entire life. I’m completely serious. Great place to go when it’s freezing out. Such a great atmosphere.

Bep is cute as a button. The ambiance is RomCom gold – a perfect mix of old fashioned French countryside with a Vietnamese menu. It’s a great date spot! I must add it to my «best date spots» list. The food was hot and tasty, and the staff is knowledgeable about gluten allergies. And, our server was a total sweetie! Overall, there was sophistication all around. Pro tips: Cash only No reservations, but I bet if you really needed to, they would make them for you.

Another Viet spot in Williamsburg that just doesn’t work for a authentic Viet tastes, but this one has been around for a while so they’re doing something right. It operates out of another café so you can get confused by the awnings. We ordered the catfish vermicelli and Bún Bò Lá Lot(marinated beef wrapped in betel leaves) vermicelli, chicken wings, and iced coffees. The vermicelli comes with its own fish sauce, which is proper, to add flavor to the vermicelli. The sauce was sooo sour, to the point where we couldn’t finish the dishes and just picked at the meats. It looked great initially, but then fell off real quick. The wings were typical wings that had not real Viet associations while the coffees were on the milky side and in a small glass. Good thing the pricing is not too high, otherwise they’d lose another star from us.

I only ordered Bep for delivery, but I had a great experience. I loved the pork summer rolls(really interesting mix of textures with the grilled pork and rice noodles), and the Hu Tieu Soup came with plenty of fresh herbs(real thai hot basil!!! actual limes instead of lemons!) and the perfect amount of ground pork and shrimp in a spicy, rich broth. I was pretty impressed and would love to try more!

The Phở Bo is the worst I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. The broth was bland, really bland. It really tasted just like hot water with noodles. With the first bite, I was in disbelief that Phở could ever taste this terrible. The vermicelli seemed slightly undercooked as well, where midway through the noodle it was hard. Extremely disappointing experience. To top it off, our waitress when picking up our plates was also eating her lunch, which was fine except she took a bite of her sandwich and then put the other uneaten half on our plates. It was bizarre and unthinkable and left us speechless. I’m surprised this place is still highly rated.

This is pretty mediocre Vietnamese food. Granted, I’m from Seattle where we have pretty amazing Vietnamese food, but this place was kind of a disappointment. I got the chicken vermicelli bowl. First off, vermicelli bowls are supposed to be cold. I wanted a cold bowl of noodles. It’s hot and humid out. The restaurant does not have AC. My noodles were HOT. Secondly, the chicken was very lemon-grassy. Third, there were not enough veggies in the bowl. Just not good. The waitress was also incredibly confused and disorganized and the restaurant wasn’t busy. Won’t be going back.

I came here once, liked it a lot, but now when I want to come back, they’re always closed! Seriously, their hours are ridiculous. Granted I’m a night owl, but given the nightlife in Williamsburg, you’d think they’d be open later. But these guys like to go home early. Not sure what their business model is, but it seems to me they’re cheating themselves out of a lot of customers. I really liked their Banh Mi and vermicelli. The restaurant itself I found charming, and it was reasonably priced. I’ve given them 3 chances so far, but at this point I’m not going to go out of my way to go there anymore.

I thought the interior really looked like a little french bistro :) We both ordered the phở bo which was good and filling and warm. You will definitely need to order something warm here though, because I thought it was a little cold here in sub freezing weather. I think they only had one external heater thing that really wasn’t doing the job. The waiter was friendly though, and the phở, while not the best phở I had, was still tasty with good pieces of meat. But the atmosphere is quite nice. Cash only.

I was psyched to learn of this place on Seamless, which was offering a 15% discount code. My ordering experience, however, did not leave me with a positive first impression. There are less than 15 items on the menu, yet somehow they ran out of beef, calling 45 minutes after we had placed the order to inform us they would be replacing the beef vermicelli with a pork version. The order, which consisted of 3 items, took almost 1.5 hours to arrive. If I’d known they were backed up ahead of time, I would have walked the two short blocks to the restaurant and saved myself the tip. After all that, I wish I could say the food was worth the wait, but then I’d be lying. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good. The catfish vermicelli sounded delicious on paper, but in actuality it had a slightly charred and bitter flavor. Disappointed. Suffice to say I will not be ordering from here the next time I get a craving for Vietnamese.

Despite all the rage about BEP, I was utterly unimpressed with their location, décor, service and ultimately their FOOD!!! I came here on a Friday night with a group and despite my expectation of seeing a crowded restaurant, I saw nothing but an empty one and the worst part, their service was slower then a sloth’s cum. This didn’t sit too well with us especially when they kept on coming back to our table to ask if we wanted to refill our drinks instead of serving us actual food!!! I ended up sharing my meal with someone else and we ordered a mango shrimp salad($ 8), two pork summer rolls($ 4.50), a chicken vermicelli bowl($ 8) and their special crispy pork skin sandwich($ 6.50). In addition, I also ordered two Saigon beers($ 5/each) only because the wait was insanely slow and because I felt like it… heehee :) I’m sorry to say, but personally I think it’s ridiculous to have to fork over a total of $ 30 for dinner that was completely unsatisfying and lacking in taste, especially when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine where they rely heavily on assortments of herbs and fish sauce! _______________________________ *Also keep in mind that their banh mi(sandwiches) are not toasted to be served warm, instead it’s served room temperature which makes the bread taste hard, stale and retarded!
