I don’t usually write reviews but you’ve got to give credit where credit is due! I’ve been going to Hayato since I’ve moved to NY5 years ago but many of their better hairstylists have since left and I’m so so glad that I managed to hunt Nao down. Nao has been able to cut/color my hair to exactly how I want it. I’m also constantly looking for a change or opinion and he has always been able to give me good advice which is why even though Brooklyn is pretty out of the way for me, I have no complaints making the trip over to see him. The space is also very well designed — minimalist and industrial like. Nao did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him if you’re looking for a consistent hair stylist that genuinely cares.

Nao has exceptional taste, extreme talent, amazing personality and a wonderful bedside manner. I have been seeing Nao for over 5 years now and will not go too anywhere else. I live in queens but still make the trip to see him in Brooklyn. Hands down, he does the best blonde highlights I have ever had and his cuts are pure precision. He listens and can cater to anything you need but also has a strong eye so with his added expertise, you will love the results. Job well done Berry salon! Thank you.

Small hair salon on the corner of Berry and S 1st. Nao is my favorite Japanese hair dresser that gives you the attention to detail you need. With a very open layout, the salon has a nice Williamsburg artsy touch that makes you feel welcome and relaxed. There are many hair salons with Japanese owners but Nao is definitely that master of the scissors.

This place is awesome! I have done the Japanese straightening at many salons and my friend recommended that I go to Nao. I can’t say enough great things about him, the salon, and most importantly my hair! By far the best results I’ve gotten with the Japanese treatment. My hair dries straight and looks like I blew it out when it dries naturally. It also looks a lot healthier. The haircut was awesome and he understood exactly what I wanted. The salon is beautiful and is a big open space(not stuffy at all like other salons) and it is really relaxing to be there. There is music, an iPad for you to browse while getting your hair done, and even a personalized welcome message next to your chair. The place is adorable and so is Nao. I would not hesitate to recommend this salon to others and am so happy I found it. I will definitely be going back!

Nao is the absolute best — I have been going to him since I was in college. I am beyond thrilled he has opened his own salon — the salon is super cute too! Big open windows with awesome natural light, and great plants/décor in the front. Nao is an absolute dream — I never know to exactly articulate what I want my hair, but he always knows the best way to style/cut/color. I am constantly stopped on the street for people asking who did my hair and I always send everyone to Nao!

I have been getting my hair cut by Nao for nearly 5 years, and have always left the salon thrilled with the results. After years of working at salons in the city he opened his own place in Williamsburg, and it is great. The salon is beautiful — well designed and comfortable. In addition the a great haircut, you will get truly exceptional customer service. If you are looking for a hair dresser, give Nao a try — you’ll be hooked! Also! every haircut includes a short back massage that is absolutely amazing. Enjoy!

Nao(the owner and stylist) is simply the best, both skills and customer service. Unlike some of the stylists out there, he listens to what you want and he’d give you his professional comments as to what fits you best. In other words, he works with you to get the best cut/color/perm you want. For someone who is as picky as I am, I’ve never walked out of his salon disappointed. His salon is classy and clean. By the way, did I mention I’m a Manhattan snob and would not cross the bridge unless I absolutely have to? Yeah, I actually trek out to Brooklyn because of Berry. That’s how good it is. P. S. to the fellow New Yorkers in Brooklyn/Queens: please don’t curse me for being a Manhattan snob. I’m just lazy. You guys are great. ;)
