Waited way too long for my friend’s sandwich. She asked the cashier for the veggie sandwich and we saw many people get their food before hers and when she finally asked about it, they JUST began to put it in and told her she shouldve asked the guys in the back. Every time I come here the prices seem to be changing. There are even variations from when you order and when you come to the actual store. Juice and smoothie prices keep increasing and they have given me disgusting smoothies several times, one that was just mainly milk.

I’ve been coming here since they opened and they’ve steadily become worse and worse. I usually just buy a bagel with avocado because I’m in a rush and each time the price changes. Last time I bought my bagel and also a sandwich which was advertised at one price and rung up at a more expensive one. When I told them it said a certain price they told me that wasn’t possible even though it was plainly written out on the wall behind them. And when they rang up my bagel they charged an extra dollar for ¼ an avocado. They need to sort out their prices; you can’t have one price advertised and sell for a different one. Will not be coming back here.

Coffee from Bistro Fare has become a daily essential for me, so it’s no surprise that this place easily became my favorite to-go spot for coffee in Brighton Beach! The interior is very clean, and has the feel of a Manhattan coffee shop(sans the long lines and attitude) smack dab in the middle of little Russia. The staff is very friendly, which is always a plus for any place. I’ve been meaning to try the food here, but I’m not exactly big on café food. I will try something soon though, and probably update my review whenever I do.

So it’s come to my attention that they recently changed over owners and the management has switched over also. This place has become terrible. The food is under temperature, hello stomach virus, they regularly don’t have ingredients that are on menu AND the signs posted for prices aren’t actual prices. For example, a bottle of soda is advertised as $ 1.49 and when rung up it comes to $ 2.50. A pressed juice is advertised as $ 6.25 but when rung up its close to $ 8. Also, I’ve seen them switch the expiration date stickers for the prepackaged salads and cold foods. Nice. Do yourself a favor and do not ever come here. You will get scammed and sick. What a terrible business they run here now. What a shame.

ZEROSTARS!!! Just found a DEADFLY in my salad. Aside from this(although this is enough) they never tell you if they are out of something they just don’t send it. So you are paying for nothing.

I am so happy to have found Bistro Fare on GrubHub– I passed it a few times walking Brighton but always had the dogs with me so never was able to stop in. My first order was on the day after the first big blizzard of this year and got to me cold(the streets were horrible) but delicious– the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing was super fresh and yummy. My order tonight got here fast and piping hot– the pizza slice was really good and surprisingly filling– I didn’t have room for the custom burger I ordered! I have to say I have a new favorite place– tastes like a nice expensive place– and costs the same as fast food, I don’t know how they do it. The people who have rated this one star or have had bad things to say about this place must either own a place close by or have a grudgeI

A nice lunchtime spot with lots of variety: salads, pizza, burgers and fries, sandwiches, soups, wraps and pasta dishes. They have Junior’s Cheesecake slices which surprised me! Smoothie and juice bar is also available. Came here with a group of about 5 people and the lady by the cashier was rude. She did not give us a receipt and then claimed that we got an extra order of fries without paying for it! Haven’t tried most of the menu, but overall the burger was just OK.

I ordered a large iced latte and a slice of blueberry cheesecake from this place. The largest iced coffee isn’t particularly large, so beware, if you’re used to a chain store like Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks, their largest coffee is about half the large size at a big chain. I was irritated that they delivered it without a straw, making it sloppy for me to drink with the top off. But the kicker was the completely inedible cheesecake. This cheesecake was so dried out, I had to throw it away. It came with a little paper doily wrapped up the sides of the slice, I assume to keep the sides of it fresh. Clearly, that didn’t work. It had been left there so long, the paper was basically glued to the dried out cheesecake. I ripped it over and over again, just trying to peel this hard, gluey paper off the cake, and when I did succeed in getting the paper off, large chunks of cheesecake came with it, because they were so dried on. The blueberry topping was so dried out that I could poke my finger in it, and none of it stuck to my fingertip. It just left a sad dent in the top. I could completely pick up the piece of cheesecake with my fingers. Good cheesecake should be so soft, you shouldn’t be able to pick it up like a slice of pizza! It was so foul, I threw the whole thing out.

What happened guys??? I’m rarely there now. You hiked up the prices, and the food just isn’t the same anymore! Where’s Anthony? It’s obvious he’s not working there. You might as will remove half of the pictures because you don’t sell half that stuff anymore.

They always make me exactly what I want, and quickly. The food is always good and fresh. The place is very clean. Large variety of things to order. I like running in here for a quick lunch or breakfast and coffee. Coffee is reasonably priced. Food is a little bit expensive, but tasty. I’ve been here a few times and will continue to come.

I am starting Bistro Fare off with a 3 star rating because I have only had the margherita slice which was very good. The more food I try will determine how my future ratings go. I have heard the burgers are very good, so I am looking forward to trying it. For now, I do recommend having their pizza.

This place has gotten better since opening and I hope they continue to find what works and what doesn’t. It’s kind of a hit or miss place. I recommend just ordering fresh from the chefs whatever you want. Soups are also better than most of the other Brighton options. If you want breakfast, the pancakes are great.

So happy this place has opened up here. A breath of fresh air for this neighborhood. I’m in here almost everyday. The salads are delicious and the burgers are phenomenal. Their pizzas are amazing and unlike any pizza I’ve had before. Sandwiches ate pretty good too, whether it’s the premade or fresh, either way they’re good. The neighborhood definitely needed a place like this, where every block is crammed with Russian food stores and pharmacies, bistro fare is just what the doctor ordered.

I almost never go to any restaurants in Brighton Beach but I since it was new, I decided to stop by. The décor is nice and the idea behind this place is nice as well: having sandwiches, salad bar, coffee, smoothies, cold salads, and pizza right by the train station. However, their execution of this idea couldn’t be any worse. Their sandwiches are already prepared ahead of time and they store in the the fridge, they’re not made to order. Half of what I saw on the menu hanging on the wall was missing from the fridge and the actual selection was very limited. I decided the one safe thing that no one could possible mess up would be a smoothy. The choices were written on a hanging menu and I picked the passion fruit smoothie. So it’s aways a good sign when your waitress she had no idea what you’re asking for, right? I know this is Brighton Beach and most people speak Russian, but if you have someone working for you, they should definitely be familiar with the menu and know what a passion fruit is. After some sign language and me pointing at the menu, she finally placed my order. I already heard about 3 trains pass and I thought that if I was waiting this long for a smoothy it better be worth the wait! I couldn’t have been more wrong. The café isn’t expensive, but it’s definitely not one of those cheap groceries that also make smoothies. You can tell that a lot was invested into this café. I don’t even think they had straws like this in soviet russia. It was thin, cheap, and I couldn’t enjoy any part of my «smoothie» because nothing would travel up the straw. Suck, suck, suck… Nothing. Is there such a thing as limp straw? After two attempted sips my smoothie ended up in the trash. I decided to give this place another try and order a salad. There were about 10 bottles of dressing behind the counter, and again, when I said garlic mayo, she looked at me as if I just asked her for a baby unicorn. The place seems very clean and nicely renovated but maybe you should just stick to the coffee and the bags of chips or bottled juices until the staff becomes a little bit more experienced

The neighborhood needed a place like this! The atmosphere is amazing! I love how there is a variety of different foods, and everything so fresh! I had a pastry and it literally melts in your mouth.

I absolutely love that this place is right next to the train, that way I can have something to eat before I go home from college. I love this place, it’s just what the neighborhood needed and the women that took my order was so nice and smiled so genuinely, I ordered a regular(which for me is an everything bagel and cream cheese and a coffee wherever I go. I think I should expand my tastebuds) which I may add, the bagel tasted like it was just made and I sat down at a window seat. I love the furniture, the chairs, and metal tables. Very comfortable and simple. They also had these adorable pastries and cakes displayed and I had to refrain myself from buying a whole collection of tarts and little chocolates. But that can be done next time ;).
