This is the Barbershop i’ve been going to since I was born. Any time I’m in the area and need a haircut, i’ll get it done here. It’s a solid, unpretentious, old school Brooklyn barber shop. Although it is Brighton Beach and the same hairstyle posters have been up on the walls since the 80’s(think New Kids on the Block and mushroom style haircuts), they know how to cut hair and give you whatever you ask for. It’s been around since the 60’s and the guy cutting hair has been at it since old Odessa.

Leon does a good job, and he’s a nice guy. He told me he’s been cutting hair since 1964 when he learned in Odessa. He’s been in Brighton Beach with a barbershop for about 20 years. The location is right next to the Brighton Beach Subway stop.

I had a good experience at Leon’s Barber Shop. There are three Russians barbers there. The one who did me told me that Leon’s is the oldest Barber Shop in Brighton Beach. The haircut was $ 12, which seemed fair enough. My barber told me he was a third generation barber and really enjoyed doing his job. I found that he cared about doing a good job — he seemed to take his time at the end to make sure everything was spic and span– and I think my haircut came out well.
