I miss this classic neighborhood dive, but I’m glad it lasted as long as it did, even as the neighborhood turbo-gentrified around it. Thanks for the memories, Harold. You did good.

This place is closing for good… cause the demographics of the area is changing. Cause gentrification s**** balls.

I love this place. I have been around and near here for so long without coming in I had to kick myself pretty hard for the over-site. This place is a perfect neighborhood dive, complete with pool and pinball and an awesome back yard. I think the true beauty is that it is in the middle of nowhere Greenpoint under the BQE. This is not a swanky fake wainscotted dive — this is the real deal. The bartenders are friendly, the beers are reasonably priced and they have a beer and shot special. A well hung projector for TV viewing events is behind the bar and takes up the maximum of space without being in the way. I hear they have food but have yet to try it. If that is great too I would have a real winner on my hands.

Beer is cheap and the bar is a dive. I asked for a menu and the bartender pretty much threw it at me. The menu consisted of detailed descriptions such as «sandwiches, $ 5». Wow. If you’re looking for a cheap place to throw a couple back before heading out, this place is perfect. Other than that, the bartender with the gray hair and beer gut is an asshole and the community is depressing. Even for new York’s standards, this guy was a total douche. Pretty disappointing.

Nice atmosphere w friendly bartenders. Decent priced cocktails and late night happy hour. Like the local relaxed feel. Definitely will come back as it’s super close to my apartment.

Very chill bar, filled with welcoming regulars. No attitudes found here. Lots of good pool players too with a well kept table.

I feel like this would be my Cheers if I lived closer. It’s such a great neighborhood bar. They have an awesome selection of whiskey, great music and everyone was friendly. Love this place.

serious dive bar. First time in Greenpoint because we were visiting my son and we picked this place because of the Groupon. $ 13 for 2 drafts, 2 burgers w/sides. We walk in there on a Saturday night around 8:30pm and the place is empty. Hmm not a good sign. There are 12 drafts on tap, so we pick our beers which were fine. You have a choice of 1 burger, yes I wrote 1. When I told the bartender I would like mine cooked medium, he replied that the burgers are cooked only 1 way. When the burger comes out, it is the size of a McDonalds burger [very thin], with a small order of fries. It didn’t taste bad, and I have not gotten sick. I suppose the $ 13 groupon covered the cost of the 2 drafts and I should consider the burger w/fries free? I’m from CT, and I don’t know NYC draft prices.

A great neighborhood dive bar that has cheap beer, a happy hour that lasts until 9 pm, and will show sports games on the big screen. I came here a bunch for the World Cup, especially on some of the hotter days of the summer. It was definitely a good place to catch the games.

So we go here often, because the backyard is great, sometimes they have hotdogs grilling, there’s a cool old timey feel, good pool table, all the male bartenders are very nice, but they tried to do an extended food program that just well… Plain sucks. Flavorless grilled cheese generic crap. anyhow don’t let that deter you cool watering hole for sure!

My friends took me to this bar yesterday night because they said it was great and they have cheap drinks. We all went up to the bar and ordered. I noticed they had one of my favorite whiskeys, Buffalo Trace. When the bartender finally got around to serving us, I asked for a Buffalo, straight up. He said«what?» I said«buffalo straight.» «What??» «BUFFALOSTRAIGHT!» He said«speak in complete sentences. Me and my friends looked at each other, puzzled, and I said one last time«I would like a Buffalo Trace straight up please.» He said, «you weren’t speaking in complete sentences I don’t know what you were talking about»(mind you, I was completely sober and talking very slowly so he could understand) I got my drink and unfortunately, tipped him for good measure. I finished my drink and went up to the bar to order another one. I said I’d like one of the same please. «What is it?» I said«A buffalo straight up please» He poured the drink and then stared at the money I had in my hand. I said«how much is it?» He said«I don’t know 5, 6… 6.» I said«which is it 5 or 6?» and laughed! He said it was 6 and grabbed my money. Shocked at how unprofessional he was, I said, «You don’t have to be so rude you know» He said«well you weren’t talking in complete sentences» I told him that he should get his shit together if he wants tips, and walked away. A couple of minutes went by and he came up to the table I was sitting at with my friends and waved his finger in my face and said«You finish that drink and get the hell out of here!!» My friends asked him what his problem was and we all just sat there, not understanding why the guy was on a rampage against me. Two of my friends went up to order another drink and had a conversation with the bartender, JOE. He said he wanted an apology from me for saying shit. Apparently this guy was new since my friends didn’t know him. I can’t believe that a grown man would get so upset by the word shit and have selective memory about what led up to me saying«shit.» It was unbelievable. Joe is childish and should really reconsider his job if he’s going to have an attitude like that. Won’t be going back there! And neither will my friends who are long time customers.

Cheap beer, awesome patio, cash only. Awesome old school looking bar to sit down and drink a Coney Island Lager on tap. They only have 5 – 6 taps but they are always good beers, including the everlasting Boulevard Brew on tap for $ 4 bucks, which is great. Friday — Sunday the owner does $ 5 all you can eat grill(hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers/dogs, and tots. It is quite possibly the best deal in all of the city if you are down for those things. It’s off the beaten path in Greenpoint Heights, but is totally worth making a trek to.

Came here after purchasing a Unilocal deal — which is still on. It’s basically a pretty sweet deal. You pay $ 10 and get $ 20 to spend at the Boulevard. I figured why not after hanging out in Greenpoint for the day. May as well end the day with a few drinks. Came here, had a blast. They have pretty neat outdoor space. It’s a patio with nice wooden tables outdoor. Boulevard is nestled under the BQE. After enjoying a few drinks, I inquired if I could use my Unilocal deal. I was told no due to it being happy hour. This, of course, is not mentioned when you purchase the deal. In addition, their happy hour lasts until 9 o’clock. They also refused to charge full price in order to honor the deal. They just refused to honor the deal and came up with any excuse possible to not honor it. It was a decent bar, but I cannot give my recommendation to a place that will not honor an agreement they chose to commit to. It leaves their patrons with a bad taste in their mouth and feeling like it is an establishment that cannot be trusted. All in all, we left a rather decent bar without trusting them. It’s the kind of bar that I would definitely have gone back to on numerous occasions had it not been for this«minor» disagreement. So why did I bother to give them 2 stars as opposed to 1? I honestly liked the place until I had to interact with the bar manager who was rather indignant. This could be because he was at his 5th or 6th beer by 6:30. And the bartender was nice.

A little off the beaten path, but only a short skip from the B48 bus, which is where I spend most of my weekends(come for the atmosphere, stay for the company!) This is an old school Bar, with a few beers on draft, some TVs playing basketball or whatever, well worn seats, a pool table, and a few guys sitting at the bar with extreme, yet completely earnest, facial hair. This is a good spot to throw back a few no-bullshit beers if you’re in the neighborhood. Also, $ 6 beer/shot combos.

Off the beaten path, but the best bar in Greenpoint, hands down. The«Cheers» of my neighborhood. Cheap drinks, pool, patio, and that old Brooklyn charm. And Harold grills up veggie dogs like a BOSS.

One of my favorite bars. Very homey dive bar that usually has a customer with a dog or two which is awesome. They have $ 3 ‘Boulevard Brew’ beers which are pretty damn good for the price. Also, on weekends(and Mondays?) they have a grill in the back with $ 5 all you can eat BBQ. Both the turkey and veggie burgers are fantastic. A great place if you’re hungry, love dogs and beer.
