Really needed a hair cut and was recommended to come here. After the visit (I call it a visit because you feel that comfortable there) I left with not just a wonderful cut, but highlights and the feeling that I will return. Ayaba and Carlos handle all textures which is important for the gentrification of Brooklyn. You can even get your eyebrows and make up done. It literally is a one-​stop beauty shop.

I have been transitioning from heat damaged hair for over a year. Today I finally decided to let go of my lifeless hair and go in for a «Big Chop». I was refered to Ayaba by a coworker of mine. This by far was a great choice. The staff was professional and very nice to me. The salon was clean and felt very cozy. Ayaba took her time getting to know my hair as she cut it and worked it. I am so happy I went in for this cut, now my curls are popping and I feel more beautiful than ever. Thank you Ayaba. You have a client for life now. If you are wondering about going here, do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it!

I’ve been natural for over three years now. Decided to blow out my hair. Was recommended to this spot. My appt with Ayaba went fantastic. She was pleasant and so was the staff. Hair came out beautifully. Coming from Queens, this was definitely worth the trip. I can’t say enough about how much I love my hair!!! Will be back. A little pricey but can’t say it’s money wasted!!! I have been a client since before Breathe Easy was a Spa and used to travel 1.5 hours to get my hair done by the Stylists. I just moved to Brooklyn from the Bronx and was nervous about finding a new salon. I found Breathe Easy tucked away on 16^th, about a block away from my place. You might walk by it at first – but don’t. Huge mistake. The girls are really talented at what they do and so sweet, and I felt absolutely gorgeous when I left. not to mention they had me in and out quickly, which, if you know hair salons – can be rare thing. Breathe Easy Spa is a lovely hidden little spot. Unassuming from the outside, you would not assume that two of the best hair stylist and a fabulous make-​up artist are tucked away inside. The vibe is warm and friendly and the best thing is that no matter your texture/​color of hair, they will take care of you. Not only will you leave feeling beautiful but knowing that the health of your hair and skin are most important to them.
Whatever your hair or beauty pleasure, Ayaba, Carlos and Luenda are the ones to take care of you and may even send you home with some house made organic products so you can treat yourself.
Make an appointment now. I say this knowing full well it will to get an appointment. But I could not be selfish with them any longer. Everyone should get some spoilage from Team Breathe Easy!

Carlos is now at Breathe Easy Spa. He has been cutting my hair in Park Slope for years and I always get compliments on the way it falls. It is exciting to see this new business grow. The atmosphere is stylish without being pretentious. The stylists listen and make everyone feel comfortable.
The spa is near public transportation and an added treat (for Park Slope) is that on street parking is still possible.
