UPDATE ** This shiz is closed. This place is a 30-second walk from my apartment, so it’s awesome that I have such convenient access to super-late-night fare. Thus far, I’ve only enjoyed Brooklyn Bird’s offerings sober. The food is *close* to 4-star quality, but not quite. The fish tacos(fried tilapia, feta, «pineapple salsa»(mostly tomatoes), red cabbage and«white dill sauce», which tasted like spicy mayo) were tasty, but if I ordered them again I would probably do without the cabbage because there was quite a bit of it and it kinda took over the taco. But if red cabbage is your thing, I don’t understand you, but you should keep it in. The bacon truffle grilled cheese is only really notable for the truffle oil, IMO. The Bird is so close that to order delivery would be pretty ridiculous, even for my level of lazy, so I always just stop into the store. The wait has varied from about 5 minutes to 15. No one’s ever actually eating in here, despite the fact that there are tables, TVs, and sometimes beer and wine specials. Either BB is really focusing on takeout and delivery, or they’re trying, and failing, to attract dine-in customers. The interior is really small but cute so I think it has some potential.

for what it is, it’s perfect. it’s open late, not-too-greasy greasy spoon. Happy with everything we both ordered.

Yeah… sooooooo…this place… the bomb diggy!!! It’s currently 12:37am and I’m enjoying my chicken spiedie(sp) while watching Ghost Busters on Comedy Central. My eyes are glued to the tv yet focusing on my awesome late night treat and I’m surprised when I notice all my good is gone! I swear the delivery guy JUST delivered my food milliseconds ago! Now what do I eat?!? :(I’d be a pig if I ordered more good huh?!? What I’m really tryin to say is, «yes folks it’s really that good!!!» :)

My friend and I stopped in after passing by a few times– the menu looked relatively enticing and we were planning on doing some drinking nearby. I had the truffle mac & cheese, which was so bland and small that I really didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth. My friend had a hot dog of some sort that also didn’t live up to its name or description. The staff was exceptionally friendly though, so at least they have that going for them.

This location on Myrtle ave has been a revolving door for businesses since I moved into the area in early 2010 and in my memory it is third business there in this short span. So I thought it makes sense to try it before the new business fails:) We came by on Saturday and there was 1 more person there beside us. I went for 2 basic staple which I love: hot wings and milkshake. The shake was decent overall but I wouldn’t say it blew my mind or anything — 2 stars. The wings were something else… They had no sauce at all and it was not hot by any means. The wings were meaty but had zero flavour. It just tells me the cook has never tried good wings before and doesn’t know how they should taste. The fact that they failed on such a simple thing to execute makes me think this place won’t be around for a long time. Otherwise, they need to get their act together bc Myrtle Ave is packed with competition.

My bf and I stopped in so he could get wings and a milkshake. Since there have been several restaurants opening and closing in that location, we decided we better not wait. We got«hot» wings and a vanilla milkshake. I have to say, I had high hopes for the shake since it was handmade. It was good, not great. I guess that is to be expected with basic flavors; however, executed well with great ingredients, a vanilla shake can be great. Now for the bad, no the REALLY bad. The wings were terrible. They were not hot in any sense of the word and there was barely any sauce. My bf ate one, then took them home and add bottled sauce. I should mention that the bottled Frank’s Red Hot sauce was significantly better than what we were served here. There are always new places opening on Myrtle, take my advice and skip this one to try another.

Two stars instead of one because the delivery guy was extremely friendly and walked up to the third floor of our apt when we didn’t hear the door. The food was pretty bad. They only gave me 4 ketchup packets for the sad excuse called cheese fries, and I was scrambling in my cabinets for more sauce… anything…to help consume them. I was that hungry and that pissed. A restaurant as a result of gentrification done wrong. Horrible. Never again, not even if I’m drunk.

Awful! Went here for a quick meal and couldn’t eat what I ordered(Asian Thighs and Fries) because it was so bad. It was described as slow cooked Asian marinated thighs. What it was was skinless and boneless lifeless pieces of gray steamed thigh meat in a horrendous marinade that had nothing to do with Asia. I took one bite and couldn’t eat it. My husband ordered the Roman Candle, and while that wasn’t quite as unappetizing, it was not good at all. The description said spicy ground beef with blue cheese on an Italian baguette. What came out was a cloyingly sweet beef sausage that for some reason had chopped carrots in it, smothered with a spicy sauce and blue cheese dressing AND it was not served in a baguette.

First time here and I was really hungry so ordered a large«Brooklyn» style«hot» chicken wings. The large included about 15 wings and brooklyn style meant the wings were coated in flour for an extra crunchy bite. The wings definitely hit the spot but not for the price was it worth it. I like spicy foods and the«hot» scale was unnoticed, next time I will try their highest spicy scale of «ghost». Great customer service and opening hours are great for those late night munchies.

Wowww! My friends and I just ordered from Brooklyn Bird not even an hour ago. We were terribly dissapointed. The portions were skimpy. The fish tacos are under the«Mains» part of the menu, but yet are the size of silver dollars and bland. I was asked what type of sauce I wanted on those, there was a smidge of an acidic driblet on them. Brooklyn Bird, such a tender name, but your«entrées» are a joke.

On the first go round it’s a stunner. Had the Asian Thighs ‘n Fries and it was full value for the money paid — $ 7.50 As for the digs on customer service? Far from it. Everyone one was nice and they did the one thing that far too many restaurants — they thanked me for coming in and they wished me a good evening. Even the staff who didn’t help me.

I am sitting on my couch writing this, as my boyfriend and I enjoy our milkshakes. Mine chocolate, his strawberry. yeah, that’s right. MILKSHAKEDELIVERY. as if this weren’t already 5 star worthy… their menu is pretty good, as well as moderately priced! I recommend their Roast Beef Au Jus Melt, Veggie Grilled Cheese, Truffle Mac Grilled Cheese, Chicken and Dumplings and The Bird Salad. Everything we’ve tried, we’ve liked. Haven’t yet tried the wings, which seems counter-intuitive, I know, but we’ll get there eventually! Besides the food being great, the customer service and delivery have been awesome. We forgot that they don’t start delivery until 5pm, when we called around 4pm. As the person on the phone was telling us this, someone yelled out in the background, that they’d take out the order early! That is how you make a lifetime customer. Also, the delivery person always calls, instead of ringing the buzzer. A fact, we also had forgotten. The awesome volunteer delivery guy stood outside our building, calling us 3 times before we realized the phone was on silent!!! He was very gracious about the wait, and we appreciated that! One day, we’ll go in and eat too. Eat here!

2 measly veggie tacos for $ 7? Y’all have got to be kidding me. This is Clinton Hill, not Williamsburg. Ain’t nobody gonna pay that much around here at 2am. TOGANNI’S WEGO!

Just had delivery from Brooklyn Bird. One word a HOTMESS!!! Not in a good way! I got the wings, Brooklyn style. The wings were coated in flour, disgustingly thick! Ordered them hot, there was no heat. The meatball sandwich was basically a burger patty, topped with marinara sauce and cheese. So not impressed, take out failure!!!

I didn’t expect this place to being trendy and modern, but here I was left surprised. I’m walking up to this restaurant with one of my friends thinking I was going to be fed something grimy on a late night. You can’t say I didn’t think about it while walking to this place. As I got inside, I’m looking around and I’m freakin’ confused as to why I am not seeing outdated stock photos of burgers, kronos gyros, french fries, and chicken wings. Instead, I am treated to… a modern, clean, and very concise menu? Whoa Ho!!! Hoighty Toity Late Night? Interesting stuff Brooklyn :) So even with a concise menu, I had trouble picking something out, so I asked the cashier. Smiling back, she told me to get the Roman Candle because it was«like hot dog but not really». She emphasized the spices and seasoning and I was straight. Let’s do this — ROMANCANDLE: It’s like an edible firework, the flavors just take off while you’re chewing. What’s sad is that it felt a bit small for me considering the price I paid. I wished it was 20% bigger, then it would have been perfect. I hope this place survives till the next time I get back to BKN

Too bad there aren’t 6 stars! These guys catered my party yesterday and everyone was happy(even those that cannot be be happy)… We had a sampling of everything and everything was great! I know who is catering my next party.

Love all that is offered on the menu here! The chicken spiedies are moist and packed full of flavor only to be complemented by delicious melted cheese on a great top slit bun! The chicken has been marinated for a few days so its drenched in flavor. The Roman candle is a love child between a sausage and a burger. Has a spicy kick to it that made my tummy smile. Apparently there was an issue with the Mac and cheese being a little cold on the inside. This has been corrected and its better than ever. I definitely recommend this spot and can’t wait for their brunch menu to begin!

I can’t really complain about the only restaurant for miles that is open late(until 4am!), and seves good food. The fish tacos, fries, and veggie grilled cheese are all fantastic and really hit the spot after a night out. What I can complain about, however, is some of the portion sizes – that truffle mac and cheese? Minuscule! I get that it’s a side(and only $ 3), but Brooklyn Bird, I’d be much happier if you offered a full-size for $ 5 or $ 6, that left me a little more satisfied.

I hate when restaurants can’t execute late at night. It makes my stomach sad and my wallet angry. I went to school near Ithaca, so I was SUPER excited to see Ithaca’s staple — Speedies on the menu. For those tri staters who are unaware of what the hell I’m talking about, a Speedie is a deliciously marinated chicken sandwich. Think souvlaki minus all the toppings and slightly shall we say; wetter. In short of how delicious I just made that sound I promise Speedies are bomb. Brooklyn Bird truly delivers a good Speedie and a cheap one at that. Had I just gotten that I would have been super pleased alas I also went for the mac and cheese. Now there ain’t nothin worse then cold mac and cheese. Not. A. Damn. Thing. And that’s precisely how my mac was. I was super sad to say the least. My midnight self was raging for some tasty melty cheesy goodness. And my self did not get that. BB is literally a hop skip and a jump away from my girlfriends apartment so I am seriously hoping that the new restaurant kinks are the cause of my unsatisfying meal. The layout is super cute and the owners are clearly gay friendly so like IMALLIN. But here’s the thing: Firstly, I can’t stand when places strictly enforce a $ 10 card minimum, it’s illegal. And yes I know no one feels like fighting owners on this but it’s obnoxious and just forces people to spend more then they planned. It is especially obnoxious when all of the items on your menu are less then 7 bucks. I know places get charged for card swipes but if the expense is really that much why not just be cash only? Also, if you’re going to essentially force me to order more food then I originally wanted and then NOT deliver, well you shall have an angry hungry, queer on your hands.
