Brooklyn Heights BJJ

I would highly recommend taking lessons and classes from Liban. In my experience of taking private lessons, I found him to be a very gifted instructor, always knowing the right level of resistance to help me grow and keep me motivated. Liban is both enthusiastic and deeply knowledgeable about everything bjj. He really conveyed his passion of the martial arts to me and often I wouldn’t even realize how much improvement I was making until the odd friend would comment on my changing physique.

This school and instructor is totally authentic. My 3 kids — ages 13÷10÷8 are active and have done BJJ for years. (Along with math olympiad, CTY and other programs) We love brazilian jiu jitsu for them as it teaches them resilience/​how to be a good sport/​how to win and lose gracefully. Along this path, a great instructor makes a huge difference. We also find BJJ very helpful as my kids are not necessarily the biggest kids on the block but through balance, position, attitude they can do well.
We met Liban when he was in California and he’s the real deal — clearly has done well himself. Kind, thoughtful, and calm and explains the steps and strategy carefully. My youngest really learned a lot from him. When I visit Brooklyn next, a stop at Brooklyn Heights BJJ is on our list!
