First of all, the other reviewer on here is fake!!! So obviously written by the owner. Plus that is the only review this person has ever written. (Brace yourselves. This is a long one) Recently I’ve been trying to find a yoga and Pilates studio close to my my area that offered packages within my budget. So, when I found this place and saw what I thought was a real review, I was pretty excited. I went online and took a look at the website and schedule. The schedule seemed a bit slim, but I was willing to look past that. When I clicked on the«packages» tab, the whole page was completely empty. So I gave them a call hoping to learn more about their package rates. I called around 10 am but no one answered. So, I tried again around 11. After the hundred and fifth ring, I got an answer. A women picked up and sounded totally flustered. It was so weird. She told me that she was the owner and was currently driving in her car because she was late to her appointment as a mortgage broker or something. Umm… Ok. She said she did the yoga studio on the side. When there’s no one in the studio, the phone calls get directed to her cell. Many times there isn’t anyone in the studio at all, unless a yoga teacher has a class, in which case she just comes in then heads straight out. No manager, overseer, or person to answer calls. I asked about the packages. She said they no longer offered them because people weren’t showing up and she had to pay instructors who were arriving to empty classes. But you would typically get a customer’s money upfront, so I wondered why that would be a problem. Then I said I was only interested in packages, so she said maybe we can work something out. I asked her how much. She followed by making up a number on the spot. I quote«hmmm… Well… Maybe… Like $ 130 monthly for unlimited sessions.» She kept going on and on about her«real» job then abruptly hurried me off the phone and told me not to call back because she was going to be in a work meeting. How unprofessional is this whole conversation so far?! Even if that’s case, and the yoga business is a side job, you certainly don’t tell that to a potential customer. It was so bizarre. She took my name and number down and said she’d call me back — which she never did. I was still looking for a place, so against my better judgement, I called her back the following week in the afternoon. Same flustered rushed tone. Apparently this women lives in her car. On her site, she advertised one free class for new members. So I asked if I could come in to take any of the classes on Saturday to see if I enjoyed it, then talk to her about potential packages. Here’s our conversation. Her: Our Saturday class is full. Me: But on your website you have multiple classes listed for everyday of the week, including Saturday. Her: With the seasons changing, we had to cut back on the classes because people weren’t showing up. Me: Cut back to only one class on Saturday? Her: Yes. Me: So if you only have one class on the day that should be your busiest, how many classes do you offer during the other days of the week. Her:(silence) Then she hurried me off the phone because she was in the middle of something, said she’d call me back, but never did. It was almost as if she didn’t want my money. Is this business just a silly hobby for her? She seemed like someone who had an idea to start a business, but is clearly way over her head. As a fellow hustler, I can relate. But why be so blunt about your failing business? Where’s the pretense? And the nerve to ask me to pay 130 for the 3 ½ classes she probably offers. Hands down the strangest exchange I have ever had with a business owner in my life.
