I stopped in today and bought an ice coffee and a cranberry muffin. The coffee was way too sweet — they warm the sugar for you. No simple syrup. And way too light. Tasted like a Dunkin Donuts ice coffee. When I opened the bag for my muffin, I realized it was ROCKHARD. It made a knocking sound when I tapped it on the table. I couldn’t break a piece off. Yuck — how long was that sitting there?!

Come here all the time for coffee, really friendly service/neighborhood vibe. Nothing fancy, just a good café. Also, my dad is obsessed with the chocolate cake.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had the disgusting disadvantage of ordering a sandwich from this place this evening. After not eating all day I walked into the empty café and ordered my favorite sandwich(a turkey sandwich on a roll with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeño, mayo, salt and pepper) and an aranciata. My driver arrived in time to pick me up to bring me back home to park slope to enjoy what was my first meal of the day. As I opened the wrapper I immediately noticed a red sauce all over the turkey(hot sauce). As I bit into it still hopeful, I felt my teeth crunching on what can only be descrided as a pebble. Curious to what it could possibly be, I took apart the sandwich. From the dry bread to the almost white and dry leaves of lettuce I grew more and more disgusted. He had uses hot sauce for jalapeños without knowing the difference and simply did not listen or write down my order and screwed it all up. There were no tomatoes or any of things I asked for yet he charged me for it all. It doesn’t end there. Now 15 minutes away, I called to find out how it was that I ended up with a sandwich so far from what I asked him for and he simply wouldn’t listen. Obviously he has a problem listening which was why the order was wrong to begin with. He then started to yell telling me to take a cab($ 15 each way) to the café to return it. Oh excuse me!!! I should now spend another $ 30 to correct an error you made?!! And you wonder why it was empty? He then hung up the phone over and over when I called then simply stopped picking up the phone. I’m sure that if the owner was there it would have been a very different situation. Especially when it could be any customer calling the phone. HESHOULDBEFIRED! AND I WILLHAVEMYBANKSTOPTHEPAYMENTASTHEONLYTHINGTHISSANDWICHISGOODFORAFTERONEBITEISTHROWINGATHISFACE! NEVERAGAIN! And you wonder why you’re an old man working in a café! That is very very evident! Pathetic man! I’m so furious!!!

I eat here everyday Mon-Fri and I have never had a complaint. The owner and his son are genuine friendly and nice people. I enjoy coming here to eat. The food is all good quality and so are the deserts. Everything is always tasty and fresh.

Freddie the owner is a nice guy. Very humble and kind. I came when it wasn’t busy. Ordered an ice coffee and bagel. He made my ice coffee first and it was like any other. After my bagel was finished toasting he gladly filled my ice coffee back up from what I drank while waiting. Definitely will come back and support support a local business.

We visited this café on a recent trip to Brooklyn. We stopped in on our first day and loved it, so we made it a point to start each morning of our vacation there. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was adorable. We will definitely have to find our way back to this place someday!

My friend and I came here for a refreshing snack after having walked around the city on a hot day. In addition to a liter of water, I also ordered an iced caffe latte. The man who was working behind the counter was very sweet and nice, and also asked me if I would like to add cinnamon to my drink. Not having experienced this version before, I decided to give it a try. Though it took a while for him to make the caffe latte, it definitely was rich with a strong roasted flavor. I couldn’t really taste the cinnamon though — but it was a nice gesture. The interior of this café is very quaint and cute. Minimal seating but very intimate — mostly all two-person tables, each with a small flower table décor in the middle. A surprising gem in this neck of the woods — I am interested in coming back one day for their sandwiches and other pastries as well.

I am by no means a coffee expert. I think the plain old automatic drip coffee is just great(large is $ 2.00). Not bitter at all. I have had many times here when on the block. I have had it black(hangover), 1sugar and milk, and just milk. I have had the americano and it had too much water for my taste. It is a nice change for red hook which is changing in a bad way.

Owners are awesome and welcoming, paninis are excellent coffee and lattes are great. They have a nice selection of pastries and drinks. There is seriously nothing bad I can say about this place. Just what the neighborhood needed. My go to lunch spot from now on.

Delicious paninis, great cozy vibe, and the nicest service. Would definitley come back. Sandwiches are customized to your liking with fantastic options like Brie cheese and arugula. Also sufficient amenities like chips, muffins, bars, cakes, etc. Has free wifi and a clean bathroom, as well as a cool design. Best of luck to them, as the owner said they just started about a month ago. I’m sure it will do great business!

Pretty neat cool place. We’ve built our own custom panini — amazing taste and texture. Coffee wasn’t the best but don’t wanna complain much. Owner committed to a good service and so will give 5 stars as my tiny support to this new sweet location. Give it a try.

Great coffee! GREATSERVICE!!! We walked into this spot for a quick pick me up. Grabbed a small americano and a large hot chocolate. Both really good. The amricano was awesome and the hot chocolate was good. It was wonderful that they asked her how she wanted her hot chocolate… she likes it with water and milk. Love this little spot! It has a lovely aroma when you first walk in and the place is super clean and nicely decorated. Plus the guy at the counter was wearing a California sweater! Awesome! :-D

I really wanted to like this spot without any reservations. It’s convenient(on my walk to work) and the owners seem nice and really committed to making the café a neighborhood fixture. The café inside is cozy, offers free Wi-Fi, and seems like a great place to get work done/have meetings. The ONE issue — and it’s a huge issue for a café — is that the coffee is really just run-of-the-mill bodega coffee. Camila’s, I really want to love you: source your coffee from Stumptown(locally! it’s right down the street.) and you’ll get better coffee. Believe me, Red Hook will thank you.

Awesome spot, coffee is delicious. Try the buffalo chicken sandwich really tasty. The pastries are great, especially if you ask them to warm it up. The owners run the shop so they take pride. The free wifi is fast. I stop by every morning for my coffee!
