After a long day of apt searching, we stumbled upon their«Have a glass of wine in our garden» sign and decided to come in for a drink. It smelled AMAZING, so instead of just wine in the garden, we shared an app and had 2 meals. Dino, the maitre’d was amazing. He was the quintessential host, stopping by making sure everything was wonderful and making suggestions and accomodations for us. End of story, AMAZING food, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service. I only wish Red Hook were closer.

I’ve been here a few times, it’s my go-to place when we have family visiting from«out of town»(aka not in the boroughs). I must have missed the entire LivingSocial window, because whenever I’ve been there, it’s never been we-have-a-deal-going-on crowded. Is it my grandma’s Italian food? Not quite, but it’s pretty good. I’ve had everything from gnocchi to paninis, and everything has always been piping hot, delicious, and filling. And while it seems like some people have found the service lacking and management abrasive, I’ve never had that experience. The manager has always been very friendly, in a «oh, you live in the neighborhood? Nice to see you, what’s new?» kind of way. This is one of the few places where I see him go to every table to check up on them and see how they’re enjoying their meals. Also? The patio is excellent. Partially shaded, it’s the perfect respite from a hot, busy Brooklyn day.

Came here for brunch on Sunday because I had a livingsocial deal which was a great deal. My friend and I got here pretty earlier so we were the only diners at the restaurant which lead to really attentive service from the staff. Our water glasses were never empty. Brunch comes with a bellini or mimosa, but we had a couple of refills for free which was pretty sweet. We also got a basket of donuts and mini muffins and unfortunately these looked like they came straight out of an Entenmann’s box and Dunkin Donuts. I ordered the eggs benedict with the hollandaise sauce on the side. Good thing I had the sauce on the side because the eggs in the hollandaise sauce was kind of like scrambled egg instead of an emulsion of butter and egg. This was a bit disappointing to see because this showed that the chef is not very good since hollandaise is the first thing you learn to make in cooking school. Overall I would had given this restaurant a 2 if the service wasn’t so darn good.

It seems like we had the same experience as some of the other people here that had LivingSocial deals– it was awful. The food was good but the service was terrible. The manager was extremely abrasive. What soured me the most is that he took my phone away to look at the voucher and then came back to the table 5 – 7 minutes later to get our order– WITHOUT my phone. I asked him where it was and he said, «oh do you want it right NOW?» Uh, yeah, I’d like my phone back now. Then he said he’d left it in the back. He basically asked us if I wanted my phone or our drinks. I don’t think this guy understands how personal phones can be for people– a lot of my info is on that phone– and if for some reason it was damaged when he left it in the kitchen– its $ 400 to replace an iPhone. Anyway, beside that the service was sub-par– we certainly won’t be back. I really don’t understand these places that offer a deal and then treat people like crap when they want to actually USE that deal. The idea with these cheap eats is that your restaurant will get attention and people will come back– and tell their friends. We live in Park Slope and haven’t lived here for long and otherwise would never have made it out to Cobble Hill– we didn’t realize what a cute little area it was. We’re the kind of people that like food and like to explore new areas– so if this would have been a good experience we would have definitely come back– and happily paid full price. We spend $ 40-$ 50 every weekend on brunch, its one of our favorite things because we only get to spend one weekend day a week with each other. I’d also like to mention that our deal was for brunch with 2 mimosas per person– when we got there the menu clearly said«limit one per person” — we only got one not so great mimosa, of course,(which is fine, neither of us are drinkers) but after the phone incident I decided I wasn’t going to argue with him over another mimosa– I honestly just wanted to get out of there. This is bad business, and if they think they are going to get people hooked by treating them like this and resenting the fact that they are even using a deal– they are mistaken. There are PLENTY of places that offer a brunch deal– and usually a good price including unlimited mimosas– I recommend Brooklyn Eats– its in the Slope and has AMAZING Italian food.

Our waiter/host was excellent but that is as far as it goes. The food was over cooked and the mimosas had hardly any champagne. Will not be coming back to this place.

My friend and I came here a couple of weekends ago for the LivingSocial brunch deal. I called at about 10a.m. and asked if we needed to make a reservation for later in the day. The woman on the phone said they were no longer taking reservations, but if we came in by 12:30, they’d be able to seat us without a wait. So, we showed up a little before 12:30 to a relatively empty restaurant. A few tables in the front were taken, but the rest of the place was empty. The manager said, «Unfortunately I can’t seat you right now, but if you want to come back in maybe an hour…» Um, what? Your restaurant is empty. Try again. I explained the phone conversation. «She didn’t tell you that.» Um, yes she did. «Hey, friend, do you want to wait an hour to eat brunch here, or do you want to take our money somewhere else?» «Well, let me show you what I have in back…» He led us to their back patio, which was very nice, but also very empty. He motioned to a table. «You have this table open? We can take this one?» «Well, I don’t have, but I give, you understand what I say?» Ugh. It took 5 – 10 minutes for us to get our menus, in which time we heard the manager yell at one of the waiters. The busboy brought over a basket of store-bought mini muffins and cinnamon rolls, then hovered around until we were done with them so he could whisk them away. The waiter eventually took our order, but made no attempt at a greeting or small talk or anything. My friend ordered eggs Benedict, I ordered French toast – two extremely boring choices, but two things any restaurant worth its weight in silverware should be able to conquer. Oh sweet lord. My friend’s eggs Benedict looked like something my dog threw up, and my French toast was a single piece of challah, dry in the middle, fried so badly it tasted like tempura. And the maple syrup wasn’t even real maple syrup! COMEON. If you want to do brunch in NYC, you’ve got to bring your A game. When we got the bill, there was a $ 3 charge for tax. Paying the tax on LivingSocial deals is fine, but the New York City tax on a meal worth $ 26 is not $ 3. I didn’t say anything, mainly because I just wanted to get out of there. When we left, they were just as empty as when we got there. And as we rounded the corner outside, we saw the manager run out of the side door and berate a waiter for something. TL;DR: The food sucks, and the management is horrible. You’re better off at any of the places nearby – literally ANY of them.

It’s rare that I eat out with a coupon and vow to return for the full price menu, but Casa di Campagna won me over. I had the Living Social sunday brunch deal. At $ 6 for brunch for two, plus coffee and two mimosas each, I was skeptical. But they delivered. They did cut back to one mimosa or bellini per person, but then substituted a basket of donuts and baked goods. Even better! The frittata contadina was tasty if greasy(but I’ve never had a frittata that wasn’t greasy, I guess it comes with the territory). But the spaghetti aglio olio was delicious, and perfectly al dente. The weakest link was the coffee which was weak and watery. Service was very competent and they kept refilling our water. The restaurant is spacious with a rustic feel and there were people eating in the back garden as well. Can’t wait to come back for dinner and try their pizza too.

I don’t know when I have felt this disappointed in a restaurant. I went there for Sunday Brunch with my sister. They asked us if we had Living Social, I’m on Living Social so I said yes. The service was absolutely awful. We waited a long time for our drinks and coffee and about 45 minutes for our food. They didn’t refill our coffee once. It took 3 tries to get the bill right and then when I didn’t produce a Living Social coupon, the bill more then doubled. People were leaving without waiting for their food. I’ve eaten at Casa Di Campagna before and it was okay, never this bad. Our food was just okay, it wasn’t that great. The experience was so bad I apologized to my sister after.

Although the food was good the service was terrible. From the moment we walked in the waiter was nasty, not only to the two of us but to a table of about 8 people. He was also very rude to the busboy who was trying to be helpful to us. We had bought the brunch special from Living Social. Trying to go out and try new things. The special indicated coffee and donuts were included in our special yet the donuts were never put on our table and we practically had to beg for a cup of coffee. It took them over ½ hour to bring us our eggs. Giving the place 1 star because of the service even thought the food was decent.

We went there a few times last summer and then have returned on three more occasions in the past month. We are so happy to find a great neighborhood spot. The owner Dino and his staff could not be nicer and more accommodating — especially with our two year old daughter. The food is simple and rustic. Always had wonderful meals. The house chianti is a great choice. Inside is cozy and the outside garden is a little gem. The food that has been excellent — chicken, veal, salads, pasta — all done well! We like how they really seem to care about all aspects of the restaurant — even the washrooms are very clean. Cheers to good success!

I have been here 4 – 5 times now and each time I have not been disappointed. Here is why I LOVE this place. 1. Kid Friendly. Each time we have been here my daughter got a balloon, crayons, coloring book pages, and one time when we were the only diners, she even got to watch cartoons on their big screen TV. Anyone who has young kids knows how valuable this can be during a meal. 2. Food. It is authentic, delicious and the chef will prepare your meal how you like it. Last night I had one of the specials and I was in the mood to add an ingredient or two and subtract a few and the owner even brainstormed with me on how to jazz up the dish. The pizza here is also very good — thin crust. 3. Atmosphere. It’s very cozy and feels like you’re inside of a brick oven, which is great during those cold winter days. During the summer they have an outdoor patio, which I am excited to test out. 4. Service. Everything comes quickly and the owner is often around to make sure you’re happy with the food and all your needs are met. The place is on Colombia street so it doesn’t get as much foot traffic as Court or Smith st, so I really hope the locals can help keep it in business. It’s truly a great neighborhood joint!

A small neighborhood spot, no doubt about it. The menu looks fairly standard but well presented — I was spying while I waited for my pizza-to-go. Prices seem reasonable. And they’ve got coupons. So why the four stars when everything I’ve just mentioned screams 2.5 at best? THEPIZZA! $ 14 worth of thin crust, good sauce and satisfaction. If there had been more sausage, there would have been another half star. I readily acknowledge having no expectations, so it was easy to be pleased. But when the gf and I said«wow» simultaneously and without provocation, clearly we were on to something. And in a day and age where you can drop the same plus more on a Domino’s Monsanto special(gmo humor, anyone?), I’m good with the price. Especially when the $ 2 off coupon kicked in. We’ll go back. Hopefully the toppings bogeyman won’t put any more of a drag on the rating…

Me and my fiancée were in from Chicago and wanted some authentic Italian food in NYC. We were staying with a friend of mine in Brooklyn who recommended this place and took us for dinner. He said it was new to the area, but one of the best places to have Italian food. From the moment we walked in the door, I could tell we were in for an amazing evening. In a city where everything seems to be striving for your attention with big advertisements and signs, this quant place sits off the beaten path and has a small-town feel. The inside feels rustic and the open kitchen is a nice touch. The staff is exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable, adding an extra special component to the overall experience. Now for the food. One of the great parts of the menu is the constantly rotating specials, meaning that they are rarely the same. Rather than a restaurant having a weekly special with the intent to dump the excess stock of something that didn’t sell, their chefs come up with something to their liking for that day. Everything is fresh and it shows. Almost all entrees are under $ 20 and they do not skimp on the portions. We had calamari and caprese for appetizers, with stuffed veal as the main course, and a few different desserts. My only regret was not having enough room in my stomach to finish everything. Every bite of every dish bursted with flavor and regardless of what my brain said, I couldn’t stop eating. I couldn’t wait to have leftovers for lunch the next day. They also have an extensive wine list, with a bottle and glass to fit every budget. This was above and beyond the best meal we had on our trip, and if I lived in the area it’s somewhere I would go on a regular basis. This was the perfect way to cap off our trip to NYC. If you want authentic Italian food with small town charm in the heart of a big city without the big city prices, make your way to Casa Di Campagna. They are a true gem and next time I’m in the Big Apple I will be making the trip to Brooklyn to have another helping.

Highly recommended. Casa Di Campagna knows it is in a difficult area for business… off the beaten path and surrounded by a ton of fantastic restaurants. But if you’re reading this, try it. My wife and I have been there twice and we loved it both times. The food is good(try the Gnocchi!). The service is even better. And best of all, the prices are very reasonable. Dishes range from $ 10 to $ 20 and you can get a glass of wine for as little as $ 5. Casa Di Campagna won’t knock your socks off(hence why I don’t think it deserves 5 stars). It’s not a trendy, expensive restaurant, but you definitely won’t be disappointed. What more can you ask from a neighborhood restaurant that has good food, good service and isn’t expensive? As a person who lives around the block, I want a restaurant like Casa Di Campagna to remain in business. A place that I know I can count on for good service and quality food while not emptying my wallet. So give it a try… you won’t be disappointed. And ask for Dino, he’ll make sure to take care of you as a first time patron. Casa Di Campagna wants your business and they show it by taking care of their customers.

This place is great. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. The eggplant I had was cooked perfectly — just like my friend’s Italian mother used to make. The Pasta Fazul soup was spot on and they gave you a very generous portion. This is the kind of place you can eat until you burst and its good food — its food you want to eat a lot of and honestly, it’s worth it. The desserts were awesome too! I’m glad they are going to be delivering to my neighborhood soon! I hope this place sticks around!

I live next door to this place and the smell alone is enough for me to give it a great review. I’ve eaten there one(had the lasagna) and also ordered pizza for take out. Both times, the food was great! The staff is always super friendly and the place just has a very tight knit family feel. The interior of the restaurant is clean and homey and comfortable. I know that businesses on Columbia street often struggle and then end up closing, but I reallllly hope Casa Di Campagna sticks around!

2nd Time I went here, and I am still kicking myself for remembering how bad this place is. Went to check out there brunch, they have been advertising their breakfast pizzas and unlimited mimosas etc. Unlimited is a great trick, considering you get a drink 1x every 30 minutes — service was terrible Eggs Benedict and Breakfast Pizza — where to begin… the hollandaise sauce on the benedict was watering and clearly from a packet, there was no canadian bacon and the eggs were overcooked. The pizza was worse than the first time I tried it — greasy and undercooked. Really this place is just forgettable, trust me!
