Great place, good food. The back meeting area is Yuuggee

Great space and with a garden. Friendly staff. Nothing spectacular about the drinks, but they do the job. I’ve come here to watch games or just chill with friends. Solid bar.

Not much happening here. A lot of singles trying to meet others. We went on a night where some game was happening at the barclays center and surprisingly it was not near full at all. We ordered food it was just okay(for me at least… my friends really liked theirs) which took a while. Cheese was put on my burger even though I asked for it to be excluded but somehow they forget the pickles; what’s a burger without pickles?!

Darn good pizza. Completely different then you are used to. Quality items used. Great bar, with multiple tap selections. Friendly and efficient staff. The go to place before an Islander game.

I hated everything about this bar — aloof bartender, millions of TVs, dirty bathroom, outdated beer menu — until I stepped foot on the patio and then all was forgiven. The patio is a hidden gem where you can go relax and feel like you’re amongst the treetops. There’s a huge chess board which sounded fun and tables on two levels. It’s quiet, it’s clean, it’s an escape and a huge departure from the inside space. If I ever were to come back, I would make an immediate beeline for the backyard.

A nice casual place to go for a few drinks after work you can enjoy some South Brooklyn pizza too which is connected next door, drinks aren’t crazy expensive like the other bars in the neighborhood, a lot of regular Brooklyn people that are left hang out there.

Great local dive bar with friendly bartenders, a lovely outdoor space, upbeat music, and a pretty fantastic pizza deal during happy hour.

Good beer selection and an even better back yard. Food is better than your average pub fare.

Went here on a first date, after an event at Barclay’s. We fell in love with the intimate setting, as well as for each other. We went April, so the backyard wasnt open yet, but it was a great sight and a great topic. We threw my birthday party there of about 25 – 30 ppl, and it was the best birthday ever. Everyone felt comfortable, thanks to the bartenders, their prices, the drinks… Basically everything is great. My only complaint is that the food takes too long to get to you from the time you had ordered it… But it could also be me, not knowing how to dial down the fast pace NYC lifestyle . They have an upstairs as well and a patio. Their located very close to the Atlantic trains so thats a huge plus. Hope you try out this lovely place, and enjoy the whole package. :)

Bartenders are cool, but the place has crappy AC and they charge for club soda even though I’m drinking booze too. Not cool.

Very cool low key neighborhood bar. I love their Trivia nights and the have a lovely upstairs seating area which is half you feel like you are a little outside. They even partnered up with the small local pizza shop next door so you can have a drink and order food as well. Their bathrooms should be cleaner. It’s a bar, and I get it– but still!

20 or so of us went there for beers after work. It was about 7pm and crowded beyond our party. We held the front tables near the fireplace and the doorway. Still lots of choices for beer on tap, either local or rarer German brews like Warsteiner. The list changes frequently. They have expanded the space to include the adjacent building with the pizza place. The bartender will bring you slices from next door. Construction on a full kitchen and another service bar is maybe done? There are lots of large tables both upstairs where bands sometimes play and downstairs. Windows open onto the garden, still one of my favorites in this area, in warmer months.

I’ll never forget learning about the time Genghis Khan chopped down a cheery tree, and then blamed it on the people who poisoned his father. Or something like that. Kind of a similar, no not really, deal here. There’s a great looking tree out back. It’s not cut down. It creates a good vibe to hang around. It’s the tree house environment you never wanted as a kid growing up in Brooklyn. The drinks, while alcohol is technically poisoning you, the people who make the drinks here don’t do the best job of hiding it. This is a pick your poison bar. Great for it’s happy hour and it’s in close proximity to the Barclays. If you’re hungry, there’s some great pizza next door. And on Wednesdays they have some fun trivia. Not sure if it’s a big cash prize anymore. Overall, it’s an alright place. I come through it’s doors every now and then, but it’s never a place I’m super excited to come to. More of a place to mix it up, or if I just happen to be on 4th avenue and in need of a drink.

Cheap drinks, nice people, good vibe. We stopped by during Sunday Football and the place is pretty quiet with only 3 other patrons. All the TV’s were showing all games at once, bartender was nice guy and drinks were cheap. Happy Hour exists every day of the week, that’s right, EVERYDAY, of the week from 1pm to 8pm. For non-football fans, they also have a bunch of board games that you can play with. Good spot for a hangout and beer!

First off, if you’re looking for a great place to grab a pint, this is it. The bartenders are super friendly and welcoming, they have a great beer selection, a nice outdoor area and a cool little upstairs balcony. Downside is that the pizza is some of the worst in NYC. The crust is like stale matzo, the cheese isn’t melted, the toppings are scant and a plain slice starts at $ 4. There’s no excuse for terrible pizza! If they could just serve good pizza, or even mediocre pizzas like 2 Bros or something this place would have five stars.

everything near Barclays was packed the other night, but we managed to squeeze in here only to find out it was much more spacious than it seemed. huge back area, a backyard, even some area upstairs. are those stairs… to nowhere? to use a Wayne’s World quote — «no stairway? DENIED!» — I wonder what this was before it was a bar. giant garage door, brick tiles all over the place, and dark alcoves give it a modern fortress feel. I’m a fan. solid lineup of beers on hand. the pizzeria that’s attached is tiny, but you can take your pizza around and into the bar(or they can take orders at the bar). pizza is kinda costly, but good. the bartenders were friendly but a bit overburdened with it being packed before the Sabbath show. took about ten minutes to get a beer. after that, we just got a pitcher and Jameson shots. I often wonder why bars don’t hire their other shift workers when there are big events(I’ve seen this all over the place, not just nitpicking with Cherry Tree). two bartenders was just barely cutting it; three would have been much more efficient. providing I go to more shows at Barclays, I’ll probably wind up here again.

Let’s start by saying I love a good beer, a good bar, and a good bar tender. More than anything I pride myself on being a polite, respectful patron. All that said, if I ask for three beers and am asked to pay a reasonable price no problem! Seriously! But if I ask for a soda for my CLEARLY inebriated buddy and you raise the price by 3 $(draft soda is almost free) you suck. Sweet bar, great yard, AWFUL service. Thanks for making an awesome night even better guy behind the bar :) –Your newest(and I expect not the last) ex-customer

Cherry tree very pretty and the cherry flower is sweet but the fruit of the poor cherry is impossible to eat. Wait, that’s lemon tree. Never mind. Among the fun bars on 4th Ave just south of Barclay’s Center, you’ll find this nice little place. Decent beer selection, friendly bartenders, very clean. This is a solid choice on 4th Ave… not a scene, not too trendy, just right.

3.5 stars. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon when there was only a few people here so maybe I don’t get the full sense of how this place is regularly. As soon as I walked in the bartender shook my hand and welcomed me in, a little unnecessary but definitely appreciated. He was one of the most friendly bartenders I’ve ever had. I ordered a Coors Light draft($ 4) and took a look at the draft list behind the bar. It listed most of what they had but not everything which was a little strange. All the drafts were listed at $ 6 but it left me wondering what the others cost. I was wondering what their happy hour was and the only thing I could see was a board behind me talking about happy hour but only listing the regular everyday prices of things. I asked the bartender but only got the special for when I was there(weekends from 1 – 6). You can get a large pizza and Coors Light/PBR pitcher for $ 20. You definitely can’t beat that. I didn’t try the food but will certainly be back to try it out. The bar’s best feature is the outdoor patio. It’s a very spacious dual level patio with lots of seating and a good combination of sun and shade. The upper level is designated as the smoking section while the lower is non-smoking. They also have a giant chess set outside if that’s your thing. It was a very relaxing place to drink a beer on a sunny afternoon. UPDATE: Prices here are actually too high as I’ve found out. There aren’t any drafts under $ 6 and a slice of pepperoni is $ 5, that’s DiFara pricing.
