My favorite go to sushi spot. Their lunch special offer is pretty decent as you get soup and salad included. I L O V E luv it. It’s amazing, just the way it is. Service is always incredible as they always pay attention to all our needs.

We were looking for a new sushi take out place as our former spot failed us the last two times we ordered. After doing some Unilocal searching we saw that Chikurin had received very strong reviews and we decided to give it a go. Absolutely NOT disappointed at all! The rolls were fresh and very well rolled. The one thing some may say would be a problem is the wait time. Over the phone I was told the food would be ready for pick-up in 30 mins it was more like over 1 hour. When I arrived the restaurant was packed with some waiting for a table. In my opinion if the place is packed with people waiting for a table the food must be good. Next time I will allow for more time when ordering and problem solved. If you can be patient and wait you will truly be absolutely amazed with the quality of the food. Hope this help you guys out when ordering and enjoy your meal.

If there is anything I love, it is variety. This is my second time here and I’m still so impressed with the wide variety of special rolls and cheap regular rolls that they offer here. The rolls are all so affordable, with some interesting special rolls that run only $ 4 – 6 and a decent selection of regular maki rolls that are 2.50. The special rolls make up at least 3 pages in the menu, which makes reading the descriptions a fun part of the experience. Me and my boyfriend got the Japanese pizza appetizer which was to die for! It had spicy tuna/salmon, avocado, a drizzle of spicy mayo and sprinkles of tobiko. All our rolls we tried were delicious as well– we tried the White Russian Roll, Mark-e roll, and Florida roll. We also asked for extra spicy mayo and the waitress brought us a generous plate right away. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat if i’m craving for some sushi and feel like being adventurous.

From one visit the food was pretty tasteless, recently wanted to give it another chance and saw that(hidden in the door) was their inspection letter — C! Beware.

I always come here ever since they welcome me with open arms. Sushi is great, servers are great and you know what, if you feel at home at a place that makes you feel like home, I rather come here when I know I need a place to feel happy! Can’t always have a home run but if 9 out of 10 works. Good enough for me. :)

Chikurin is the place my family and I have went to for countless occasions and celebrations. It’s the longest lasting sushi restaurant in this area and I hope that it stays this way. Their sushi, bento boxes, hot dishes are always delicious. Their fried ice cream is worth a try if you’re not stuffed with sushi rolls!

My go to place for sushi in Brooklyn. The prices are affordable and the service is good! It is definitely one of the better sushi bars in Brooklyn especially in the neighborhood of Bensonhurst. The quality of sushi is always consistent and you get what you pay for.

Great sushi and not too expensive(there are mango rolls yay!). The place wasn’t packed at all on a Wednesday night around 6:30. My friend and I were the only customers until a small crowd started coming in around 7. The owners are Chinese and friendly, and the restaurant itself is spacious. We ordered 4 rolls and a beef udon. Everything was really good, no complaints. Would definitely come back if I’m in the mood for sushi.

Have ordered from here numerous times in the past. No complaints other than the long delivery sometimes. And the fact they forgot to give me wasabi!

I came here this past weekend with my boyfriend. We had an average experience. I had the plum wine — which was amazing. They also continually gave us hot tea refills. Don’t ask me what kind of tea it was. We ordered a lot… Calamari — $ 6 not a bad option. It had some taste and I liked the dark sauce it came with. Small price, small portion. No major complaints. Sushi — I don’t remember what any of the specialty rolls were called, but we got philly rolls, alaskan, and one that was a cali roll with tuna and salmon on top. The specialty rolls had odd names. I noticed a lot of their rolls had egg in them, which I am not a fan of. Service was okay. They gave us a doggy bag of sushi that wasn’t ours… I’m guessing that it was just leftover because it was later at night. I didn’t like whatever kind of sushi it was. Overall, this place wasn’t impressive. I thought since I loved the wine and calamari, that I would also love the sushi, but it just wasn’t the case. Meh.

I’ve been going to the Chikurin for quite a long time and the quality of their food has usually been pretty good. I adore this little spot because it never fails to churn out tasty dishes at super inexpensive prices. I recommend going here for their lunch special. Everything offered for the lunch special is pretty standard. I usually get the classic roll combos or if I’m feeling something hot, I get one of their teriyaki or katsu specials. The specials also come with soup and salad. But really, what appeals to me are the prices. A lunch for two almost never exceeds $ 20, tip included. The waiters are beyond nice and they seem to remember their regular customers. Every time I’m there, I notice them chatting up the customers and being super pleasant. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you’re craving some cheap but good quality sushi.

Really long wait for food pickups. 15 mins turns into 45. Go to Wasabi Sushi instead.

My friend and I came here for dinner. She mentioned to come have dinner here. Where I told her this place isn’t that good due to coming here few years ago. She knows I like Wasabi Sushi better and said we can got there instead, but I figure to give this place a second chance. The 4 sushi rolls that I ordered was not rolled properly and looks easy to fall apart. I ordered: eel avocado roll: which wasn’t good because there were huge chunks of avocados and very small thin pieces of eel. Spicy tuna roll: not fresh, and not spicy at all. Philadelphia roll: smoked salmon tastes exactly like deli’s lox(smoked salmon) and same with the cream cheese. Not good! Shrimp tempura roll: shrimp wasn’t that big and there is more panko coated on it, not that good of a taste. I probably won’t be coming here again. I’ve tasted way better sushi at other places.

It’s been pretty hot these past few weeks and when it’s hot, I don’t want anything hot to eat nor do I want to cook for myself. I been on a serious sushi kick during this hot and humid weather and because of that I decided to give Chikurin another chance and it’s also about a 2 minute walk from my home. The quality of the food has improved! I usually get the any two or three roll lunch special and/or a kani salad. The quality of the rolls are okay, but not great. Sometimes it looks like they don’t put much effort into making it because there were instances where the roll kind of falls apart. One specific sushi roll I been falling in love with is the salmon roll with crunch. I normally don’t eat raw fish, but I seriously been hooked on this. It’s really good and I am glad I don’t taste or smell any fishy-ness from the sushi. Overall, I am glad quality and customer service has improved. However, they are no match for my currently favorite sushi spot which is about another 15 minutes from my house. I wouldn’t come here for a sushi/dinner fest, but it serves it’s purpose if you want lunch or a late lunch., but as for dinner I wouldn’t really recommend this place.

Here are one of the many sushi restaurants spotted in 86st. Prices did raise up, rolls ranged around $ 3-$ 12. This place does offer a huge variety of sushi combinations! Many many different types of rolls, so thats great for adventurous eater. I ordered the yaki vegetable udon, tasty but my plate was smothered in oil. I really liked the tea they offered! The green tea had a roasted taste it, definitely unique from other restaurants.

This is my go-to-place for a quick sushi fix. While it doesn’t have the atmosphere for a much more expensive sushi restaurant, their food is usually fast, very fresh and well priced. Their sushi menu is quite large and it is a tad intimidating to choose just a few rolls at a time, not to mention anything else that they have. A few recommendations: New Zealand Mussels — these will take awhile to cook, so order it once you sit down while you peruse the rest of the menu. They are FANTASTIC. You won’t regret it. Soft shell crab — You get one crab that is cut into smaller appetizer pieces. Very solid taste, well worth it since it is rather cheap anyway. Salmon /Tuna Tartar is pretty much similar to their Salmon /Tuna Bowl: If all you want is straight up fish, this is a great appetizer for you. I’ve ordered it a few times and while sometimes they add a few too much flakes on it, it would be worth it if I just want bite after bite of fish. Dragon Spicy Tuna /Salmon Roll: Delicious. There is avocado on top of a roll with spicy salmon /tuna(depending on your choice — they will customize the roll to what you want.) Well worth it! I’ve been here so often, I’ve pretty sure one of the waiters recognizes me. I often come to sit and eat here with friends and also get delivery /take out from here. They are super quick with every variation of dine-in, take out or delivery. Well worth it!

It used to be a place to go since their prices are cheaper than the chikurin at sheepshead bay. now their quality seems to have decreased. Their portions got a lot skimpy and messy if that made sense. Last time I went to get takeout the lady was not even paying attention to us while taking our order and skipped out 3 rolls. after we ordered we just Sat down to wait for our order. A lady came out with bags of orders from the back and just dumped it on the table we were sitting on and just pointed to the bags and said NO like she was training a dog on not to take. We were awkwardly moving away to the next table after that. Later when the lady returned with our food she points to it and go: this yours in a very annoyed tone.

For the area i’d say the sushi is of better quality. Great price with a large menu of sushi and rolls. Stick to the specialty rolls though as those are the ones that tasted great and had good value. The sashimi also was fresh and of good value. Sit in i’d say was a little standard towards sub par. Nothing special and a bit run down. Take out was good. Quick service and our large order was completed in a timely manner. Go with any of the eel rolls, rainbow roll, a great crab and shrimp roll and any of the yellowtail.

After reading some of the great reviews by follow Unilocalers, I had to give this place a try. I came on a Wednesday at 8:30 pm and there was no wait. We was seated and our waiter gave us the menu. The service is quick and fast because there’s was not much other tables. I ordered 10 salmon sushi and the V-Roll. Love the sauce that was on the V-roll. It was sweet and sour but mixed in a good ratio. The salmon was very fresh. The only problem was for the salmon sushi the rice would fall apart very quickly. I highly recommend the V-roll. The price for Chikurin is very reasonable for someone that eat sushi. It was a $ 1 for sushi/sashimi. The service is good but they seem to rush us out the door a little today. Would definitely come back to try more of the special rolls.
