Best coffee I’ve tried! A great alternative to the run-of-the-mill coffee shops you usually frequent. Try their chocolate chip cookies too! Service is quick and good. They take credit cards no matter how much you spend, which is a plus in this day and age.

My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. I come here daily for my morning cuppa joe. You know service is great when you walk in and they know your order before you open your mouth. I love that, especially when I’m in a rush. I receive my coffee in under a minute. Their pastries and bagels are always fresh. It’s definitely in the top 10 of the neighborhood coffee shops.

Chock full of nuts coffee has always had a good reputation, but damn someone should have told me about their food. I had the date nut bread with cream cheese… oh my goodness. I cant believe i didnt know that such delicious-ness existed. The french vanillla was spot on and didnt disappoint. Totally worth the trip. If you happen to be this in part of the neighborhood go and treat yourself. A friendly«barista» will great you with a pretty good sense of humor and the writing on the wall will keep busy while you wait

They now take credit cards at this location, and they have expanded their menu. Chock Full O Nuts sort of morphed into a self serve coffee shop like Dunkin and Starbucks. This location’s improvements and the acceptance of credit cards earn the AVENUE M Chock Full O Nuts a full 5 stars… …and you simply cannot beat their Chock Classic Date Nut Bread and Cream Cheese.

Just your run of the mill chain coffee shop. I like to stop in after work sometimes for an iced coffee. I’m not crazy for the place though because it’s not the type of place where you’re supposed to come in and sit for a while, there are only a few seats and they’re usually taken by Murrow students. CFON is good for grabbing a fast coffee when you’re getting on or off the train, other than that though — no need to go out of your way to check it out.

Delicious iced mochas, humongous bagel sandwiches and the best muffins! Enough said. Do not go to Dunkin Donuts.

I come here every morning for a nice orginial medium ice coffee. Everytime I walk in they already know what I want and by the time it’s my turn to pay my order is ready, So I don’t have to wait. The price for Ice coffee is pretty cheap, cheaper than 711 next door and dunkin donuts down the block. It’s usually packed with alot of students during school days. The people that work here are super nice and friendly. I had the bagel with cream cheese here before the cream cheese was mehh :/. But other than that It’s my to go place every morning to start off my day.

This is my husband. I’m married to chock. They save my life every morning right before school. Thank god this place is right nearby so i can grab my morning boost up. My every-day-go-flow is the french vanilla coffee or hazelnut coffee. Mm I’m in heaven. Beware it’s always packed in the morning from the students coming in and out.

Good place, cheaper than Dunkin Donuts down the block… it is a small store, but the guys that work there are fast and efficient. I like their RedBull Strawberry or Pomegranate drink, it’s really good and no other chain makes it. Let’s face it i can get coffee anywhere, but this, this is good! Its kind of expensive because of the Red Bull,(sm $ 3.50, med $ 4.50, lrg $ 5.50) But its a good treat like twice a week, guys don’t over do it on the red bull, lets face it, its not the healthiest… the reason i’m taking away a star is because it’s usually packed with murrow high school kids, and who the hell wants to be squished in a tiny space with them lol? But im sure those kids give this place a good business, so keep ‘em comin’. the real reason for taking off a star is actually because they do not accept credit cards. I usually have cash on me, but one day if im so incredibly thirsty that i cannot resist going to chock and i have no cash, then, yah, I’m screwed… ;)

Oh my god. I Just had a very startling experience at Chock Full O’ Nuts. On avenue M I stopped in to get a coffee and there was no one behind the counter so I called out a hello, and I swear to god I heard a man masturbating! And then he came out and zipped up his fly in front of me, not to mention his shirt was hanging open! That was so gross and I am never going back there again. How do I know there isn’t jizz in my mocha?!

A recent talk thread reminded me that I never reviewed this place. I was working nearby and I would come in here on my breaks, since they often fell a little too early for lunch and unlike the 7 – 11 and other delis, I could actually sit down and read, without having to return to work and eat there. The employees were nice, but no matter how many times I asked them to only make my chai latte(I don’t drink coffee) a little bit hot, because I had burned my mouth previously, they never listened. My breaks were only a half hour long and I wasn’t able to actually sip my tea until the last minute or two since I had to sit there and wait for the temperature to fall. It was my fault for continuing to go here even though I knew this would happen, but like I said, there were really no other options. It also tends to be overrun with kids from Murrow HS around the corner who are skipping class even though they are not allowed to leave the building even for lunch. They take up most of the seating, which upsets the older customers who also frequent this location, and also herd right outside the door smoking, which can lead to the inside smelling like cigarettes. The employees do occasionally say something to the high schoolers, but they don’t want to lose their business, so they tolerate a lot more than they should. The muffins and such that I’ve had here were just ok. They seemed to be made from the same mix I can get at the store for $ 1 and just add water. Oh and just to add to what Andy had said, this is definitely not the only Kings County location — there is at least one more, located walking distance from this one, on Ave J. I believe it’s located in the back of a 24-hour convenience store, but the café isn’t open at night. If you’re in this area and need a place to just sit and grab a coffee, give it a try, and judge for yourself. I never tried their signature date bread, but I bet that’s better than the blueberry muffins I tried.

Long before it was«hip» to sip some of Seattle’s best or Seattle’s worst(Starbucks) at a giant coffee shop with wireless internet and years before people«were running on Dunkin», New Yorkers had Chock Full O’ Nuts. I remember the big yellow and black checkered canister sitting in my kitchen when I was a wee lad. Years later I would be enjoying this brew myself. This location on Avenue M is the only Chock café left in Kings County. There are 15 left throughout the city, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island. Some of my favorites include: the house blend, hazelnut, white mocha and their muffins. Definitely check out one of these great shops on your travels around the NY area.
