Was always mediocre, but now is just bad. The last two times I have been there(within the last month), things have been awful. Nachos twice came out completely soggy and inedible. I think that their steamer that melts the cheese is either broken or the staff does not know how to use it. Beef quesadilla not much better. Plus, both times I’ve gone in there to find almost no lights on and no staff(they were in the kitchen). It is a bit creepy(makes you feel unsafe and/or that they can’t afford to keep the lights on).

One of my favorite spots for Mexican out of all five boroughs. Price is perfect and you get a great sized burrito with quality meat and fresh veggies. Also friendly staff that humors me when I practice speaking Spanish to order my lunch! They need to bring the smoothies back they were so delicious when they had them.

i really, really want these guys to read my review. if they made a semi-decent burrito, i would be here several times a week. but as it stands, this place is really not good. the burritos are pretty flavorless and, ironically, drip with oil. they are filled with far too much rice as well(the cheapest ingredient, go figure). i cannot recommend this place. the only other dish i got was the taco salad, which again was loaded with rice and far too few fresh ingredients. clemens or whatever your name is, go to chipotle or, better yet, a proper california taqueria. taste and copy their burritos and come back to me when you do. you’ll have a ton of my money.

It’s ok. Very home-run type of joint which might be a little better during the daytime. The employees are very nice and sweet, so at least there is that! Their portions are huge! So expect a lot when you come here. I ordered a San Francisco Burrito with pork. You can customize this to your liking so I opted out for beans and pork only. They forgot to add guacamole to my burrito but my friend requested it for me later. Their pork is ok, a little on the dry side. The rice in the burrito was delicious though! Nice choice of spices. It’s overall not too shabby, but not really amazing either. Prices range 6 – 8 dollars which to me seems just a tad more expensive than any other place serving this type of food that you could find more authentic in Sunset Park’s Little Mexico.

This place is pretty good. The ingredients taste super fresh and the atmosphere is cool. My favorite thing about this place is the chips. I ordered nachos and I was a bit worried that they would end up soggy like most nachos do. But they’re chips can withstand all of the juicy toppings and remained crunchy the entire meal. Kudos to crunchy nachos!

Went here at like 2 in the morning on a Saturday night. The quantities are massive and, given the time and the overall condition of the group I was with, this place hit the spot. The guys who run the place at that time(at least the guys that were there on the night I was there) were also really nice and generally«chummy.» That is, we were the only people in there for a period of time and they were friendly with us and gave us a ton of sides, just what we needed. The prices are also totally reasonable and the only reason why this doesn’t get 5 stars is that, while«fun» the food wasn’t «top notch.» I don’t want to sound like someone who is super picky about food but the SF burrito seemed like an attempt to cater to the SF to BK crowd, yet it wasn’t a total match. This is hardly an actual issue, but rather just useful as an illustration of how the food is slightly«off» from what it claims to aim for. That said, the chips and guac and sauces are all on point and the fact that their California style menu items were a little off the mark should not be a reason you don’t go — it’s great and definitely performs the task of a low-priced Mexican restaurant with flying colors.

This place is great. Great burritos, great staff, chill all around. Just want to know what«taco &» originally ended with, but this place is great. Killer. Great.

When ordering a burrito, fajita or taco, it is customary to ask what you would like in it. That did not sit well with me, and to have to ask for more ingredients to be added on only to be met with an attitude. But what sealed the deal was there was no soap in the Only restroom. Enough said !

I had a steak burrito tonight here. It was what you’d expect from a place masquerading as a Mexican joint called Clemens. My favorite was their hot sauce. It shines through the sour cream, when usually the sour cream covers too much. For it being so I late at night, the rice wasn’t from the bottom of the pan. The meat was so so, but it is from a Mexican place called Clemens. It’s no frills, and slightly more expensive than Chipoltle if I remember correctly, and that was my least favorite of this place. Don’t expect a whole lot, and you won’t be overly disappointed.

The food was just bad. Maybe I am accustomed to better quality products, maybe this place is accustomed to serving a certain clientele that appreciates this watered down«Mexican» food, but everything was soggy and bland and left us feeling underwhelmed. The guy behind the counter got my order wrong multiple times and seemed to not care about getting it right. Even the drinks out of the cooler are warm to the touch. This was just an overall terrible experience from start to finish.

I’ve only had vegetarian/vegan burritos or burrito bowls. I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed their food. It’s like chipotle but authentic. It’s owed by a hard working family who has a great report with the community.

Where to begin. Gross and an utter disappointment. The burrito was a mess. Hard over cooked, bottom of the pot rice, the stuff you usually throw away. Bland pork, old lettuce and under cooked beans. As for the service they should really think twice before letting their 14 year old niece/daughter work the front. Not only was she the one who served me this catastrophe she was more interested in hanging out and watching youTube videos with her friend in the store. Who ever thinks this is authentic hispanic food has never had it. You actually can get a better burrito at Chipotle. This is authentic garbage. I should have known better being how empty the place was during lunch on a Saturday. This place doesn’t even deserve the 1 star I’m forced to select.

A cold and soggy mess. I ordered delivery service from them and the food order arrived 2 hours later, everything was soggy and flavorless. I ordered nachos grande which came with grilled chicken and cheese but all of the nachos were a soggy mess and the cheese was one big slop. I also ordered some rotisserie chicken with black beans and rice, the chicken was flavorless and the skin was soggy, inedible really, the black beans and rice were flavorless. The side of guacamole I ordered was watery and my entire meal was a cold soggy mess. Their food is terrible, I will never again ordered from this establishment.

I finally found a place that serves good burritos in New York! I had a chicken burrito with rice, beans, and pico de gallo — it was really good. Whoever left bad reviews must like very americanized Mexican food. WAYBETTERTHANCHIPOTLE

So the outside makes you really want to see what the place is about. I never see anyone dining in here, so I never went for lunch/dinner. This evening, I decided to give it a try. Let me start by saying, THESTAFFISSODEPRESSING. Very, very depressing vibe. The lights flicker on and off. My Mom made a comment, «I feel like I’m actually in Mexico.» We used to live in Southern California, and she remembers going to Mexico seeing all of the young children coming with their siblings for food(so sad but this is what this establishment reminded her of). We ordered the guacamole and chips, nachos(don’t forget if you just say this, you get cheese and that’s it!), and a burrito. The guacamole tasted as if it had two cups of water in it. Absolutely no flavor at all. I could make better nachos at home, and the burrito was just«ok». I never recommend fast food chains, but this restaurant makes chipotle look like a five star restaurant. Shimmy over to Elora’s on the next block! Never coming back here.

This place is a perfect example of how I disagree with the average Unilocal user(you are the kind of person who is Ruining New York, seriously!). If you can’t get down with this spot, get the hell outta Brooklyn, and beware, you will very possibly get mugged here. Plenty of vibey, slightly seedy, but good at the core people and cultural things going on here, that inherently Hate you and your netflix-watching, Taylor Swift-listening, Rockefeller ice-skate dream asses! With goodness in their hearts they may mug you! For cats who want a damn good burrito or similar, made with relatively fresh ingredients and plenty of them — Cali style — then enjoy! I know some other good ones, but I haven’t found a better burrito joint where you can actually sit down in all of Brooklyn town, and I’ve been here a Minute.

I hate to say that the burrito I ate from this place is the worst burrito I’ve ever eaten… but oh well. It was the worst burrito I’ve ever eaten. To be honest, I should’ve known something was off when the dude making my burrito asked what type of cheese I wanted inside of it: cheddar or mozzarella. Jesus Christ.

Pretty awful. I’ve been to Clemen’s three times now and each visit was worse than the last. The people who work behind the counter are nice enough, but the food literally tastes like taco bell leftovers that have been sitting in the fridge for a week. Grainy, mealy beans and rice, tough tortillas and dry, flavorless meat. Mexican food in NY is generally pretty hit or miss, but this place is straight up gross. Avoid.

Why are these people still in business? I went in here with a friend and got«memelas». I kid you not, it looked and tasted disgusting. We couldn’t even lift it up without feeling disgusted. It was soggy, mushy, stuck on each other, and super sour. Also, maybe it was just a REAAALLY off day, but the girl behind the counter rolled her eyes while taking my order. Possibly because I didn’t say memelas correctly. Geeez Stay away. I should’ve taken pics as proof; too bad we forgot to as we were just so baffled by what was Infront of us. That was all we ordered. Thank god.
