I was in and out in 30 min. No wait to see the doctor staff was helpful and friendly. The sales girl worked with my budget and I could not be happier with this place. I don’t know if they hired new staff or what but this was by far the fastest and smoothest eye appointment ever.

I am only giving them a star because the Dr is a breath of fresh air compared to the backwards staff. She found out issues I had with my eyes that no other optometrist had brought to my attention, and helped me figure out why my daughter had trouble seeing. The front staff however, was a different story. The doctor went to verify whether my Union coverage covered contacts or glasses. I had specified that if they did I would do the fitting, but if not, I would just get the glasses because I had no intentions of spending extra money. Once I was told they did not cover the contacts, I went through with my glasses. The doctor asked the receptionist to assist me with applying for the credit program which would give me six months to pay for the contacts and fitting fees. During the process, the doctor had run out to the store and said she’d be right back. I found out I was not eligible for the credit and was told to have a seat to wait for the doctor. When the doctor came back, she had me sit in the back and gave me a trial pair of contacts to put on. I was unaware of the situation and assumed that they were just that; a trial pair of contacts, especially since they were the same exact prescription that I had at home. Apparently the front end hadn’t informed the doctor of the credit results and when it came time to write up forms, I was asked for a fitting fee of $ 75. Since I had already explained the situation, I was confused and reiterated to the receptionist. She began to raise her voice and made a scene in front of other customers ranting why I would take the contacts knowing I didn’t have the money. I calmly explained to her, despite the fact that she was berating me in front of my two small children and on lookers, that I was unaware of the process and was under the assumption that it was her job to tell the doctor. In a completely different tone, she explained the situation to the manager, taking all the blame and explaining that the office was crowded and she didn’t know. I was then told by the doctor, in front of everyone that they had to take the contacts out my eyes for safety purposes. I left out feeling shamed when if the front end knew what the back was doing, or if there was a sense of decorum and I was pulled to the side of talked to like an adult, rather than a child, it could’ve went so much differently. I’ve been called everyday telling me our glasses are ready, even though I explained to the receptionist that I’d have to pick them up on the weekend because I work during their weekday hours. The receptionist who called mispronounced my daughters name and then proceeded to spell out an entirely different name. You call and you’re put on hold by one receptionist just to be answered by someone else who has no clue of what’s going on. I refuse to go back for services; in fact, once I pick up our glasses, I’m getting our prescriptions as well and going back to Sterling Optical. I had only come here because my daughter was too young to be seen at Sterling Optical. Distasteful and unprofessional staff.

Wish i could give them a half star. The worse experience ever! I regretted having no choice to go to this Cohen’s after the one located in the Financial District stated they did not accept my current n insurance. The manager is very unprofessional and snappy. The other ladies are okay but look very afraid when the manager is around. I’m assuming she’s the manager but who knows if it was her just brown nosing around the top boss. Lastly, the optometrist smelled like tuna! My kids were so upset. Never will I ever return there. Will be visiting an optical in Ridgewood.

I would have liked to give less than 1 star. I took my young son there and the people that worked in the front were very unprofessional and impatient. They made me feel unwelcomed. They also tried to overcharge me with unposted charges. I would not recommend this location. I personally will never return to this location.
