First off there aren’t enough stars to award to Jamie. Second he should be humanity’s representative to the canine province of the animal kingdom. Third he’s got such a special relationship with his charges you wish you were a dog.
I have used Connor’s since 2009. I became disabled and could no longer walk my Siberian Husky female Mischa. She was 8 when they met and is now 13. I have a lot of experience with Huskies and have seen how they normally age. Mischa is in amazing shape and enjoying life to the fullest. Jamie is completely responsible for that miracle.
Most importantly JAMIE HAS NEVER FAILED ME AND MY DOG. Jamie has virtually never not shown up and always calls if there’s a problem. I believe he’s shown up even when NYCTA has failed him. If a scheduled day falls on a holiday he shows up without comment. In weather my Husky finds unbearably cold or wet he shows. In the heat of the summer he coaxes her out even on heat alert days. He’s treats most dogs better than their humans. He has a close real relationship with each dog, even the ones owned by hypocrites and fools.
Lastly about the review Jamie has received with one star. The incident involved sent him to the hospital, as the reviewer blithely mentions. He was seriously hurt trying to separate fighting dogs. He literally put his charges welfare ahead of his own. I’m sorry her dog had a bad time of it, but repeatedly criticizing Jamie’s professionalism over this incident reflects a truly inhumane (towards humans) perverse world view. Please ignore her. Jamie had proved himself with too many of us to take seriously her comments.

Jamie has been great at walking my little Aussie Terrier mix. I’ve confidently recommended him to many people in the neighborhood. I trust him with a set of keys to my apartment and know he going to do a good job. He’s an animal lover and knows what he’s doing.
Walking dogs is not always easy but Jamie does it because he loves it. I
feel fortunate to have him. I love that he works with me and my ever changing schedule.

I can not say enough about Jamie. He is out of this world. We looked and looked for a sitter and walker for our two boxers and I have TOTAL faith in Jamie. I do not worry when I am not there that he will not show up or that he will not take EXCELLENT care of my babies. I NEVER NEVER worry about them. They actually go to the door and sit and wait everyday for him to come and when I mention his name they get all excited. My babies are big but they are babies and they are all about me, so if they didn’t like Jamie they would hide behind me, but when he walks in I’m totally invisible! I have to say I was the most impressed in the fact that we had only had Jamie taking care of them for a week or so and my girl boxer came down very ill and was bleeding. Jamie, for going his other customers, stayed with Emilie until we got home to take her to the vet. We were new to the area so he did all the leg work to find the BEST vet for us to take her too. I honestly cannot say enough about the level of care my babies receive. When Jamie first started walking and taking care of them they had behavior problems with other dogs and sometimes people. He suggested different techniques to curve the problem. Through his patience and working with them I get daily reports that they pass other dogs and people and he has to make a very very mild verbal correction, if any, and they follow him. Even now when I walk them it’s not torture they follow to the «t». Please, and I can not emphasize this enough, do not do not do not take to heart the negative review the person posted. I find it very hard to believe. I am VERY VERY protective of my babies and I will not just let anyone take care of them, but I can HONESTLY HONESTLY tell you I NEVER think about it at all, I know they are in EXCELLENT hands. Jamie is very responsible about sending me a message everyday after their walk and when he takes care of them overnight he stays in constant contact. It’s really hard to find someone who cares like he does in New York. I am from Atlanta and I was extremely satisfied of the care I got in Atlanta, but I have to tell you Jamie blows them out the water. If I ever move I’d have to take Jamie with me!

I’ve been using Connor’s Canine Services since my dog Foxy and I moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago. Foxy has been noticeably happier and calmer since spending time with Jamie, and on a few occasions when I’ve been home when he came, Foxy was so excited to see him and ran over to meet him at the door.
Jamie is great about giving me updates on how Foxy is doing, any problems she’s having and giving suggestions on things she might like when I’m gone during the day. He also sends me pictures and videos so I can see how she’s doing when I’m not there. I would recommend Jamie to anyone in the Brooklyn area; Foxy and I both think he’s the best!

I am very sad to say that I had a bad experience with this service, because I know Mr. Connor loves dogs. However, my dog was put in a needlessly, very dangerous, situation while being walked with two other dogs, which was without my permission or knowledge. It resulted in injury to nearly all involved (one dog was not harmed of the three). In the scuffle we also lost a brand new collar, and we also had to pay for the walk that my dog did not receive. I learned all of this only after the damage was done and the dog walker was en route to the hospital in an ambulance via text while I was at work (which I promptly left to check on my dog who was left w/​o a walk and w/​o help). This was traumatic for everyone. I understand that accidents happen, but this could have been prevented. I used him once after this event — because I am a single owner and was desperate and made him promise she would be walked alone.
Now I live outside the area and use Prospect Bark. I’m not sure if Mr. Connor simply took on too much when our beloved Teo left the neighborhood, but I was uncomfortable from then on.
My initial feeling was that I would let it go, because my dog was safe and we had moved on, but after relaying the story to a friend in the neighborhood, she mentioned hearing another poor review from another dog-​owning neighbor. I wish Mr. Connor well, but I think he is in over his head.
