Typical local pharmacy. This place is small but they have what you need most of the time. They close early relatively early, only reason I don’t really go here often. Right side is the pharmacy & the left side is the surgical department. They sell power scooters, seat lifts, braces, & etc… This is the place you would come to if you need something specific(orthopedic inserts & shoes), as they can order it & deliver it to your house. Pretty sure you can’t get a motorized scooter at Rite Aid. You can make copies for $ 0.25. Send a fax for $ 1.00 a page. There’s also a notary. Location is awesome. It’s right on the corner of Flatbush & Avenue P. Parking is horrible. You can’t park in front because of the bus stop. You can’t park on the corner because it’s a ‘No Standing Anytime’ zone. Which is hard for the older people, who are the main customers. Most of the time they just park in the ‘No Standing Anytime’ zone & I don’t blame them one bit.

I headed to their surgical department to order some compression stockings for my father and some diabetic shoes. Billy Fox, who’s in charge of the diabetic center was amazing! He was patient and kind with my father, who is not the easiest patient to care for. Billy explained to us all of our options and made sure to offer us the medical forms to complete in order to get reimbursed. Class act! And I will always head to this surgical supplier for all of my needs. Thanks for the great service!

Very, very helpful. They carry prescriptions that big name pharmacies do not have. I got very personal service that made a difficult situation a little easier to handle. They have a big variety of health necessities. Will definitely be back

The pharmacy dept. is good. The medical equipment is fair if they have it in stock your in luck. The employees in surgical«well» you must Dumb Down your communication with them. Speak slowly, very slowly and clearly very clearly. On the plus side they also have a Notary Public.

When it comes to ordering surgical supplies, their employees are grossly incompetent. They are happy to sell you anything you need, just don’t expect them to provide the right product or any customer service. Expect them to order the wrong product, avoid your calls, avoid accountability and show no support. You can expect them to take your money as they tell reassure you that they are ordering what you need and what a script says, but really they have no clue and are lying. Doing business with them entails having to call, put on hold for 30 minutes, never get a return call, having to go back to the store multiple times because they keep screwing up. In the end you will be given the wrong supply and it will take you weeks to find out they are completely useless, lazy and when is all said and done you have nothing to show for it.

I’ve been shopping at Dermer for many years but not the Rx department. Mostly the DME and surgical supply. I’ve gone there for all kinds of braces, wound dressings, OTC orthotics, and equipment for invalid relatives such as a wheelchair, a walker and a bath seat. It’s strange that shopping there is pleasant considering I only go there when a loved one is ill or injured. I always find what I need.
