This place is awesome! Service is friendly, although it does depend on the bartender. Beer is typical in price. It wasn’t crowded when I was there but it did pick up at night. Seems to be popular with people who work in the area. Their fire in the hole burger is amazing. Their french fries are skinny and addicting. They’re like crack:) Oh and they have a fireplace now that winter is showing it’s head!

This is one of those places that grows on you eventually. Friendly staff, cheap drinks if you’re on time, and the truffle fries are to die for. Ignore my last review, or take them both to heart. You decide. I’ll be here.

My bartender was really attentive and nice. The Thai chicken wings here are so good! I didn’t really like my wrap tho but I would definitely come back here to eat more of their chicken wings.

I’m such a fan of this spot. My coworkers were VERY confused where I was taken them, but when we walked in they were surprised how cool and different it was from the outside of this area. I stubbled upon this place when I worked in the area. I really have to say this is my «cheers»!! The waiter was VERY accommodating for my birthday ALL evening. He made sure he took care of the drinks and the food to ensure it came out in a fashionably matter. He knew when to ask, get, and grab. he was engaging and made sure we were taken care of all night. I got the burger with truffle French fries(bacon and cheddar cheese) & a $ 4.00 blue moon(that’s a deal). They had Happy Hour for another hour and half and everyone was very excited. We all loved the spot and I think my coworkers will be back with or without me. I will defintly be back. I come here at least once a month.

I’ve stayed on the neighborhood a couple of times and this is my go-to place for a quiet drink in a bar that is not divey, but kind of quiet and lay back. Never tried the food but the drinks are pretty regular-good. The staff is really friendly and they even have dorky Walking Dead viewing parties. Not my style, but the people there won’t bother you if you’re respectful and not loud while they’re nerding it up on the bar. One time, on St Patrick’s weekend we even got in a fight with some irish kids(really from Ireland) and since we did not started it, they let us stayed in the bar without any kind of bad vibe.

Good happy hour deals, the spicy sweet wings, truffle fries and lamb shank are my favs with addition of the fried oreos. The staff is friendly and helpful and its in a good spot transportation wise, the A, C, F, 3, 4, 5, 2, B, R, Q trains &52, 38, 25, 65, 103, 45, 41, 26 and more mass transit are all within a ten block radius.

The unassuming bar behind pretty typography is exactly what this place is. The place has an enticing menu but once you actually get the food it is not as described. Lapin and I ordered the boneless wings(good but a bit dry), the buffalo sandwich(dry and came with a different cheese and toppings than described — along with getting a hair baked into the cheese), truffles fries(okay, not out of the world great), fried oreos(awesome, promised to come with ice cream but came with whipped cream), and fire in the hole burger — well done(Lapin thought it was spicy and was just okay). The service was okay, they never came to check up on us or even refilled our waters. Definitely going to avoid, maybe if we want drinks but nothing else.

Burger, fries and beer was ordered and it was good. Didn’t have high expectations — the food and service were on par with any normal bar that serves food. It was close to my hotel so was very convenient for me to walk to. I will not likely be back unless I am in the area and looking for a beer, but not food. Too many other restaurants to explore in the area to eat there again. Price was standard.

Ugh. Salad and entrée brought together. The fish and chips tasted like fish sticks and Mcfries. The joint was decorated by deranged blind people.

One star for the fries. Awful distracted service. The waiter was über flighty. One star for over cooked burger that didn’t match the description.

I love this bar — it’s a beautiful space. And the truffle fries are to DIE for! By far the best I’ve ever had.

My go-to local drinks spot. Lots of regulars, lots of after-work folks. Quiet on the weekends. Bartenders are nice and food is reasonable if you’re not looking for anything more than pub fare. $ 4 happy hour drafts are great. Wish they had more craft beer selection, but their crowd probably buys so much of the standard crap that they don’t have the space on their taps for anything too adventurous. Update: beer selection very much improved. Other Half on tap among other highlights. Music situation is almost unbearable. Manager has Bluetooth based streaming that cuts out all the time, making for an uncomfortable listening experience. It’s been this way for months, and he refuses to fix the problem or even acknowledge there is one.

$ 4 drafts, tequila Tuesday something, $ 5 wells/wine read the sign. Good selection of beers on tap. I came here to kill time before the last Unilocal event in Brooklyn. One of the bars in the area was shut down or closed and really I had no idea where I was going and just ran into this and a sign outside. Armed with Stephen King’s «The Stand» and an «I’m running late» from my plus one, I figured, well, this is better than standing around on a corner on Fulton Street. Yikes. Had Strongbow Cider and a Laguintas IPA. Lots to choose from on tap. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing boring either. Seemed like a proper British pub in the middle of a crumby area of Brooklyn with a pretty great happy hour until 7pm. A lot of locals come in here after work for a pint. Most of them I was shocked were in the same situation and on their own so I didn’t feel as awkward. Their food, though, not sampled, smelled pretty good. Lots of interesting burgers and sliders(some coated in a Guinness Glaze, Peanut butter, or spicy peppers/chipotle), chicken pot pie, fish and chips. On the bottom of the menu they even have listed home-made donuts and wait for it — deep fried oreos!

Nice food and very pleasant wait staff. We tried the hummus(excellent!) and the Peanut Butter burger(good but not as peanut buttery as I was hoping).

I’ve been here a couple times and it’s a real hit or miss kinda place. One time the drinks and service will be on point(despite the crowd) and at a calmer time of day, the drink will be piss poor… sucks. This is a decent place to end your day(wine down if you may) or you can even start your weekend here. They always seem to have some drink promotion going on so don’t hesitate to ask the bartender. Cash and Credit accepted.

My boyfriend purchased a living social deal and after reading the Unilocal reviews I was pretty nervous yet kept a positive attitude. At first we tried calling the phone number listed on Unilocal but it turned out to be a random guy’s cellphone # and he was not a bar that served brunch. Poor guy! We then emailed them and wrote on their Facebook wall as the phone number on the coupon and their website did not work. NORESPONSE! Seriously? We are begging to make a brunch reservation and you are making it difficult for willing customers despite your horrible Unilocal reviews? We then tried to get a refund from living social. The site responded by saying they are answering the phone. So a week later we made a reservation for brunch. UGH! The Saturday we went was very rainy and cold so at noon there were only four other people dining at the restaurant with one waiter who seemed a bit new to the scene and slightly stressed. He was very nice but as other reviews state, the service was very slow. For drinks, I tried the pineapple mimosa and the grapefruit mimosa. The grapefruit was the best as it was strong. A good morning cocktail. I ordered the kale salad which I thought was too salty. I was never raised to add salt to my meal and I usually do not enjoy salty things. My boyfriend ordered the burger which was very typical and came with fries. It could also come with potato salad if he chose. My favorite were the wontons. Super yummy and full of flavor. We also ordered the potato croquettes which were incredibly bland and not worth ordering. The living social deal included the tax which was awesome so not funny business with extra tax/included tip. Overall, I see what the most recent reviews are saying. I think this place is a standard 3-star brunch and has room to grow. I would consider returning in a year or so.

Absolutely awful. I’d heard that this place had gotten a renovation in an attempt to reinvent itself from its previous life as a sketchy place with bad food and a rough crowd. WRONG. A friend and I went here last Friday night for drinks after work. At the bar, there was a guy next to us – at 5:15 pm, no less – who was HAMMERED. Fine. He proceeded to sexually harass my friend and I for about 30 minutes. The vulgar comments finally reached the breaking point and I went to find a manager. One of the waiters advised me to tell the bartender. Against my better judgment, I tell the bartender what’s going on(who has been watching this guy harass us the whole time), and shockingly – the drunk guy doesn’t stop, and the bartender doesn’t do anything. The guy continues to verbally assault my friend and I(we’ve just left work, so we are in suits) and some guys next to us who were also in suits. Calling us professional robots, telling us that he makes more than us with his pension alone, showing off his Union t-shirt and screaming that he’s untouchable because he’s in the union. Screaming in our faces. Insults. Sexual innuendos. Assorted blue collar vs. white collar insults. The whole nine yards. The guy finally gets off the of the bar stool and as he is stumbling away, the bartender says to him, «See you next Friday!» HUH??? I have NEVER been harassed like the other night, and have NEVER observed a restaurant/bar handle an unruly patron in such a poor manner. The one bright spot was that my friend and I made friends with the guys next to us and agreed, wholeheartedly, that we are NEVER going here again. If you are interested in being verbally attacked and participating in the current class war going on in Brooklyn, this is the place for you! Oh, and p. s.: I called later that night to get a manager on the phone. The person who picked up the phone says«Dining Room». I explain what happened and that I need to talk to a manager. The person on the phone says«YOUHAVETHEWRONGNUMBER», and hangs up on me. Classy.
