DMT is the name of a chemical compound that simulates out of body experiences and the feeling of death. DM Tea is a lot less severe, and sells both bubble tea and set lunch specials, located in the Fei Long food court. They do the whole 3 sides with rice and soup special. All for $ 5. Not a bad deal, but pretty typical of Brooklyn Chinatown. When food’s that cheap, you start worrying about where they’re sourcing things, so go for the food that you can tell was recently cooked. They have roast meats like duck, as well as some veggie choices. It won’t be the best meal, but you’l get your money’s worth for sure.

Service alone deserves one star. I stood right in front of all the food calling her attention. Every time one of her old buddies comes she rushes over to give them the largest portions in the world. Rule of thumb if you know her name and yell it from far away you’ll get ahead of anyone.

** 2.5 stars ** One of the vendors of the Fei Long Supermarket Food Court, DM Tea occupies one of the wide spaces at the back of the food court. Within the food court, their most distinct food item are rice casserole clay pots. Otherwise, they have a wide selection of noodle and rice dishes, snack items, and a fairly extensive drinks menu. The rice casseroles are indeed served in a clay pot, nested in a basket, with the soy-based sauce packaged separately. The spare ribs and Chinese sausage clay pot was unremarkable and wholly unmemorable, a recurring theme at Fei Long’s food court. This refers to rice a bit too dry and sauce lacking in flavors. A side order of curry fish balls, while generous, was likewise mediocre and frankly, easily better tasting made from packaged products at home. A lemon honey drink was fine. DM Tea fits a niche at Fei Long, and another reasonable option at the food court. Not worth a visit otherwise.
