I came to the store after 8:00 a.m. on a Friday to pick up a prescription. The pharmacy was supposed to open at 8:00 a.m., but it was not. The gate was closed and the pharmacy was empty. When I asked one of the employees(the manager maybe?) when the pharmacy was supposed to be open, he said«8:00 a.m., but she’s stuck on the freeway.» C’mon, Duane Reade! YOUNEEDTOBEOPENWHENYOU’RESUPPOSEDTOBEOPEN. You sure don’t have any problems closing on time! The cashiers in this store are really nice and helpful, to be fair, but the pharmacy is a mess.

I’m surprised by how low this DR is rated. Okay, not the best one I’ve ever been in but seriously, for a corner store, they do pretty well. I haven’t had much trouble with rude or unhelpful employees. In fact, I find the opposite is true. For the most part, I find them to be friendly and chatty right back. It could do with a face lift, sure, but it’s not terrible for what it is… a pseudo corner store/pharmacy. They have decently stocked shelves and just a little bit of everything you might need. I do wish they had a better selection of refrigerated/fresh food items. There aren’t any fresh fruits available, only a very limited selection of dairy/meat, and lord help you if you want bread. The loaves run out quicker than anything else everrrrr –__– Oh well, in a pinch, something is better than nothing and I’ll take it, y’all.

Solid Duane Reade! It always has what I need and the staff is helpful. The pharmacists are friendly and efficient. The store is bright, clean, and the checkout line is never too long. The aisles are wide and everything is pretty organized and well kept. Sure, it could use an upgrade and look a bit more modern and happy, but as long as they have what I need, it’s alright. I only ever go there on weeknights after work and on my way home, so I don’t know how it is during the day or on weekends.

Maybe I’m just spoiled by the Duane Reade in Port Authority. Maybe I’m a huge Duane Reade snob. But man, most of this staff could not frown harder if they tried. Which is too bad, because it’s not s bad place. It’s reasonably clean, pretty big, and even kind of organized. But with the exception of a few positively saintly staffers, everyone gives the strong impression of hating their work and their customers. Which I totally get, but at least fake it!

This pharmacy is absolutely terrible. I’ve never had any issues with the store itself but the pharmacy is unacceptable. They did not inform me that I didn’t have any refills left on my prescription nor did they bother calling my doctor for the refills. Because of this oversight or lack of action I have to go the weekend without my prescription. Oh, also I filled the prescription on TUESDAY thinking I could pick it up on THURSDAY, which is when they told me they’d taken absolutely no action in filling the RX. Transferring my business to the CVS near my work and never dealing with this bullshit again.

This is the lowest Duane Reade on the totem pole. They never answer phones either. Seriously in need of a revamp. Funny enough, the manager is actually very helpful and attentive(3 stars for her). If she even sees you having trouble deciding she will try to give assistance. The review is for the rest of the staff(unknowledgeable and rude) Also, more often than not, they are out of stock on popular items. Where’s the inventory management? Plus they lock up the Dove… whattt?

Such low ratings… wow. I have not experienced rude think the staff is rude but they are not a warm and fuzzy bunch. I mainly come to this location for the ATM and the occasional cashier’s check. I’ve shopped here once or twice and the place always seems clean and well organized. I never see anyone walking the floor so good luck getting help. I had to come to the pharmacy a while back and the male pharmacists was actually nice to me. DR is a giant convenience store so be prepared to pay higher prices.

Warning the store is not open till 10PM on Sundays. So if you happen to think about braving the cold snow to draw out cash from your local ATM to pay your rent, remember that the store closes three hours earlier than it says they do. And remember that their voicemail system hours are dead wrong too. As I walked by the staff was still inside sitting on the floor reading magazines. I’m not really that surprised from the slow checkout service and lazy attitude I get from the cashiers on a daily basis. When I called to tell them their hours were wrong everywhere else but on the door the clerk was yelling at me the other locations until I responded with«this is bullshit» and hung up. Part of me thinks they’re closing the store early because they just don’t give a flying fuck. Thanks Duane it’s been great

The store staff are okay. Nothing special – although one of the guy cashiers is super nice and down to earth. The entirety of this rating goes to the pharmacy, which is absolutely horrible. It hasn’t mattered how polite I am, the lady at the counter with the blonde hair always has a sour attitude. I can only imagine how difficult her life must be that she is always, always so rude and unhelpful, no matter how patient and polite I’ve tried to be with her. I’ve worked service jobs before, I know they suck but yo, lady, if I’ve been nothing but nice to you that’s no reason to be such an utter hag. I also have completely commonplace prescriptions that they are constantly out of, not to mention the one time when they were out of my prescription the lady lied and said they couldn’t accept my prescription because it was illegitimate. Went to Myrtle Pharmacy and they said that the Duane Reade staff was full of it. Never again.

There’s only one person working the register, perhaps with more it would be more efficient.

this is one of the most dreaded places to go. the staff’s attitude is so rude that it’s easy to draw the conclusion that the only reason they have a job at all is because their food stamps ran out and they were forced to get a job. just miserable people and they seem to have no shame about their attitudes. it seems to even be a point of pride. not to mention that on 4 occasions has the pharmacy screwed up my meds. I won’t EVER go here anymore. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.
