Oh my GOD! Had lunch there today, Aug. 20th. Two workers in bloodstained coats began to deliver 11 carcasses of recently slaughtered pigs… weighing about 180 pounds each. Most grotesque display ever witnessed in a dining hall. Monsterous!

We order take out from here all the time because I live only a block away. The food is always hot and fresh and the service is fast. The prices are really good too and they have a slightly different menu than most Chinese places in the area. Have not had a sit down diner here yet but if the take out food is made fresh I can only imagine the dine in food is just as good. When I did walk in one time they were very friendly and offered suggestions on what i should try. Definitely recommended.

I haven’t had such amazingly tender and succulent barbeque roast pork in decades. We plan to travel an hour away again just to be able to have the BBQ pork. Everything else was delicious too.

Been here a lot for takeout and eat-in. Service is always pretty good and I like the owners, who manage the counter almost all the time. If you want good, tasty Cantonese food and bbq(ducks and chicken hanging in window) this is a good spot.(Yes, they also have buddhist vegetarian style dishes and seafood.) The older Chinese complained that they are too pricey. On average, they charge about 50 cents more per dish than any of the other neighborhood restaurants. I don’t nit-pick over these details, but they do. This may cause Ecstasy to lose some business. I prefer this place bc not only is their food well-prepared, but it also feels comfortable and clean here. They also have good lunch special and rice dishes.

Lunch special or no lunch special, the food is done well and for the average price. I’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all take-out because I like to eat over at friend’s place or to go on the long train ride. The food is not overly oily and pretty fresh.

Decent cheap and authentic Chinese food in Bensonhurst. Good roast pork and duck. Noodles are good too.

A Cantonese style Chinese restaurant on 18th Avenue, serving freshly made roasted meats, noodle soups, and congee as their primary items. They offer freshly made rice noodles but haven’t tried that yet. Also serve typical noodle, rice, and Cantonese dishes for lunch and dinner. The name seems to refer to the lounge on the second floor, which I haven’t seen, but they have no other English name for the restaurant below. By the narrow entry corridor is the cash register where the takeout crowd waits, right by the roasted meats hanging behind a glass wall, where the butcher chops them up to order. Inside is a simple, no-frills dining area with mostly small and a few larger tables. The cashier when I went was equally fluent in Cantonese and English. Although there are several restaurants that offer roasted meats in Bensonhurst, very few are actually any good, most being passable at best. To my surprise, this place bests out everything else so far in this area. We did a large take-out order of two types of roast pork and soy sauce chicken, which was comparable to the best I’ve had in Brooklyn. The roast pig had the requisite crisp, tasty skin, succulent layer of fat, and tender meat. Chicken had a beautiful sheen and smooth, tasty meat. Honeyed roast pork, in my preferred blend of lean and fatty meat, was also very good. Quite pleased with their quality, that they’re so close to my home, so they’ll be my go-to place for this. I recently tried a take-out order of beef stew and wonton noodle soup. Unfortunately, they didn’t separate the soup, so the noodles were a tad overdone by the time I got home; should be standard to do this but will ask next time. The wontons were mediocre, although they stayed in one piece. The beef stew, on the other hand, was very tender, generously portioned, and delicious. Will stick to getting their roasted meats or beef stew on noodles.
