With overpriced cups, toppings, and other foods, this environment does not encourage people to stay too long. I don’t know if those ladies are responsible for the management or they are just hired –but I would suspect so given the store’s clueless business seemingly reflects their being clueless about the area and the clientele, on top of they are always there. /eks/generally is an overpriced chain. But there should be some room left to the owner’s business decisions. If they are more serious about survival in this area, they should try. And I guess they are not. I stopped going there because 1) I don’t live in the area. 2) Too high priced 3) the place is not for staying 4) they close too often too long If only they lowered their price range a bit. Unless they accommodate themselves into a laptop friendly place like other cafes, this kind of place would not thrive. Or they have to go back to Queens where they might really belong to.

First off, let me say that I have heard the death knell of the frozen yogurt with toppings fad, and the bell from whence it rings is known as the self-serve frozen yogurt with toppings fad. Having recently returned from a long stint in San Diego, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised to find a frozen yogurt shop near our house, so we stopped by today after a fried chicken lunch at Mitchell’s. The yogurt was grainy, not cold enough, and lacking appropriate levels of tartness for our tastes. Like another reviewer has mentioned, the topping selection is of below-average range and EXPENSIVE! We spent nearly $ 5 on a small plain tart yogurt with six raspberries on it. The woman at the counter apparently felt sympathy, perhaps foreseeing the bland taste that we would experience if that were all we ate, so she offered some unsweetened raspberry sauce for free. It helped. My advice to eks. Figure out how to offer the same quality and quantity of ingredients as every other yogurt shop in NYC at a comparable price. The people who will support you are more than willing to wait until they are in Manhattan to satisfy their yogurt urges if the convenience of proximity is canceled out by inferior product. p. s. they have pat bing su!

this place just opened down the street and the final consensus is: meh. seeing that froyo is one of my favorite things ever, i was really excited when i saw eks down the street since i used to(gladly) walk my happy ass over to the yogo monster on 7th ave and union … too bad they’re overpriced with small portions and a lack of enticing flavors.(the day i popped by, there was only plain and mango.) the yogurt tastes like nothing. seriously, they might as well not have flavors because it tastes like a bunch of a ice swirled in a cup … apparently, they only use natural sugar or something, etc. etc.(clearly, i wasn’t listening nor did i care.) also, for my $ 7 medium cup with carob chips, they had the nerve to swirl the yogurt in a way that was hollow in the middle. i thought it was a fluke and gave them the benefit of the doubt, but after chatting with some neighbors, i found that they frequently do that. boo, on them. i’ll take my $ 7 and trek back to yogo monster instead. at least that way i will have worked for my dessert.
