When I order my food I went to the shorter female she pretended as if she didn’t know what I was saying maybe because I wasn’t bilingual or something. She looked at me as if I head two heads I asked for extra bread and she said it don’t come with it but I know it does. The service was very unprofessional when my order was don’t she didn’t call me to tell me it was done it was sitting on the counter for 5 mins before I went back inside to get my food. this establishment needs to learn some costumer service I’m a server and I know how to treat and talk to people! Learn some ethics and maybe I will return thanks the food is good

Give me one good reason to eat anywhere else but in this fine little establishment. It feels just like it should and taste even better. Can you say authentic!

While in Brooklyn we looked for a place to eat. Food here is decent. Good portions. We had the chicharone with rice and the liver with plantains. Plates were good. Waiters don’t really come by to check on how things are. But that’s ok I guess. They drop a bottle of water at your table and that’s it . Overall good. Be aware. It’s cash only and the only place that it will say that in on the cover of the menu which is in very small writing. I had to wait while my fiancé went looking for a bank since the ATM right in front of the store does not work.

Some of the BEST Domincan Food. I brought my Dominican friend and she agreed! We ordered Pernil, and it was to die for! The salsa de ajo(garlic sauce) was fresh garlic and was soooooo good kept asking for more! The coffee’s were amazing and the morir sonando(milk, orange juice, and sugar) was an amazing drink, had it for the first time there! Everything was delicious and the décor was awesome /industrial /creative use of coffee tins for lights!!! Will def go back! Maduros amazing, and the wait staff was nice, laid back ambience of hipster and dominicans. Didn’t have to wait long for food either! PS-Only 2 small downsides… parking in this area is a problem! and 2CASHONLY!!! WHY???

Absolutely love this place! So far I have tried the sancocho, cubano sandwhich, and mofongo de chicharron. Each dish was delicious amd tasted authentic(from a Dominican herself). The place has a nice atmosphere its not too big and not too small. The ladies that work there are also nice. Cant wait to go back.

I ordered the steak burrito and a side order of tortilla chips. They were both good. The quality of the ingredients were very fresh. The tortilla could be much bigger to wrap around the burrito but all in all it was good. Im from California so I know about American Mexican food. The delivery was right on time too!

This place is great! I tried mofongo for the first time and it’s amazing! I’ve tried both pork mofongos, & the chicken kind. I’ve also had beef pastelitos, & pineapple shake. The prices & the food sizes are great!

Just ordered a bunch of food to go from El Nuevo Cibao and ate like a queen. This place is no-frills, authentic Cuban food. And sometimes that’s just what you need on a lazy Sunday. We ordered the pollo asado, maduros, and arroz con pollo. All of it was super tasty, and for only 20 bucks, that’s a bargain. The only thing keeping me from giving that fifth star: the rice in the arroz con pollo could have been a bit more flavorful, and some pieces were still white. But given the price and convenient location, I’ll certainly be ordering again soon!

Ordered delivery from El Nuevo Cibao to take a break from a few other Cuban restaurants I have my in delivery rotation, and I was impressed. The delivery arrived well within the quoted time frame and the Cuban sandwich was solid. I also ordered their tres leches cake to make the delivery minimum, and although it wasn’t homemade, it was delicious, so I will definitely be ordering that again as well.

Went with my family, we all come from Boston, Ma. The food was excellent ! Fresh, testy and good portion enough for two no big eaters. But the waiter need some skills improvements on customer service

I’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times and have also ordered it on Seamless. All those times, the food has always been solid. Some things can be a bit greasy but that’s understandable, as it’s more comfort food and not really something to eat while on a diet. Recently, had the chicken stew but the chicken was a bit dry. The arroz con camarones was great, the shrimp wasn’t overcooked, though the rice was a bit under flavored. The pernil was delicious! Well-cooked with some of the fat(sorry, organic hipsters, I love it). On that note, get the pernil mofongo. It’s not greasy but they give a large portion of the pork and it’s so good! My nephew also loved the beef empanadas and he can be a picky eater. Had the tripe soup, which wasn’t bad although I’ve had and made better. It was under seasoned but I think with everything else, it can be compensated. Last but not least, and this is probably the most peasant of all, but the buttered bread they give… delicious!

Had the family with me to enjoy some mofongos Three of us had mofongos and at $ 7 a piece how could anyone go wrong. The sauce that came with it was delicious and the mofongo with Pernil had a generous helping of meat. I had the one with pork belly. OMG –crunchy and delicious. I was happy. One of us had the stewed Ox tail which came with maduros. It was good if you like Ox tails but at $ 14 it was a bit steep in my book. Maduros were sweet and nicely cooked. We tried one pastel with pork and planned to order more if we really liked them. No go. Little salt and NOT a lot of flavor. The worst was the texture. The root vegetables were ground up in a food processor and that makes the«masa» rubbery. Not good at $ 5. Will never do that again. All in all the service was fine and the food was good. The place is all cash and it was a good thing that I had the cash or I might be doing dishes right about now. El Nuevo Cibao was pretty good. I would go again.

The beef with onions… very good. However, here are some things they can do better. a) I asked for medium and they cooked my steak well done. b) they can work on cutting the grease down just the tad. The negative: I ordered sautéed veggies and that means you stir fry veggie. That does NOT mean steam them and then satay them. You know what sauteed vegetables+steamed vegetables =? It equals soggy, and no one likes soggy. On the bright side, their mofongo is a must!!!

This would be a 3-star experience if it wasn’t for the BREAD. The food was all decent enough(rice felt a little mushier than it should, probably cooked with a bit too much water). The pernil was pretty good! The sangria is nothing special but it effectively got me and my friend drunk. But dang, I grew up in Puerto Rico and I really miss having a basket of buttery toasted bread brought to your table the moment you sit down. THISPLACEDOESTHAT, ANDIT’S PERFECT. We even asked for more bread to soak up the leftover sauce in our food, and they were happy to oblige! By the way, it’s cash only, and they don’t have an ATM on site, so bring cash!

Its hard to get good Hispanic food. But i found it! This place is one of my new favorites. Their morir soñando is soooo good. For those who are unaware of what that is, its a traditional dominican drink. Milk, sugar, oj, lime, vanilla. It sounds gross but it’s amazing. Anyway…the rice is medicore. Not the best but the beans add flavor. The beef stew is full of so much flavor and has the perfect tendency, love it. The maduro(sweet plantain) wasnt too bad however ive had better. Prices not too bad. Definitely like it.

Hungry for a great lunch, forget the sandwich shop, come here and order a Cubano, or perhaps a nice chimichurry(a Dominican style burger). Yums, real tasty deliciosogasmico. What’s not to like. Stop by and give it a try. But must pay in cash, they don’t take credit cards.

Do to the fact that I’ve been tasting Dominican seasoning all of my life it’s hard to be neutral so let me just say that if you looking for some legitimate Dominican seasoning/food look elsewhere. Note. The cubano sandwich is s good one.

Ordered in one night from Nuevo Cibao and the food was delivered quickly within 30 minutes. It came to 30 dollars total and we ordered A LOT of food including one chicken empanada, one beef pastel, sweet plantains, pernil with rice(massive portions) and one mofongo. Everything was delicious and had great, authentic flavor. The pernil was falling apart and was delicious dipped in the mofongo’s side gravy. The sweet plantains were some of the best I’ve had — extremely juicy. Not a single one in the whole container was dried out. We will have leftovers for at least one meal if not two. I definitely want to go in person and try some of the very interesting sounding Dominican breakfasts that they serve. Highly recommended for inexpensive delicious food!

Come hungry. Like, really hungry. Staff is nice, but there were some breakdowns in communication. But we got everything sorted out with some linguistic elbow grease. The mofongo is pretty good. We had the one with the Spanish cheese. It comes with a bowl of delicious gravy. They also have a fried meat platter, which was a TON of food. It came with fried plantains and fried cheese. Basically, the most unhealthy selection of foods you could think of. For my entrée, I had the ½ rotisserie chicken(was recommended by the waitress vs. the ½ fried chicken). The chicken was a bit dry, but portions were big. The mountain of rice & pigeon peas that I got as a side didn’t help. It was good though. It was a pretty reasonably priced meal(especially for Smith Street), and I’d definitely come back(after my body completely digests the first meal I had here).
