Best authentic Mexican cuisine for an even better price. The price is great and the queso is better. You can’t go wrong at el saltos!

Fast and friendly service, with a quick return to the table, serving up hot and average food. It’s on par with most other Mexican joints. I have no complaints from my visit to El Salto, but there’s nothing that sets it apart from other Mexican places. I’d recommend going, but for me it was an average experience based on other similar Mexican restaurants.

Skip this. This is not a hidden gem. This is a dive, and not a very awesome one. There are tortillas that taste like they came from generic brand boxed goods sections in the grocery store. There are rice and beans that are so watery they obviously came from a can and an inexpensive can at that. There are margaritas made from generic sugary syrup void of any real fruit… And there is shredded, mushy chicken that may also have come from a can that tasted more fishy than like chicken. The servers were all so friendly and helpful though. Once again… SKIPTHIS. Not at all the hidden gym you’re craving for yummy Mexican eats is in search of.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I was a little kid and I’ve never been disappointed. Everything is always delicious and made to order. Even leftovers are great. :)

I’ve been here numerous times. The food is great, awesome quantity for the price. It can get quite busy during the week for lunch, and for dinner on the weekends. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the service is sometimes slow. Also they’re steak products isn’t as great. Could use higher quality steak/beef.

I have been meaning to write a review and just came in tonight after a little hiatus. I have been coming to El Salto for many years and have never been disappointed. I have came for lunch and dinners hours and always get excellent service. The only reason it doesn’t have 5 stars is its not in the most desirable area but I have also never had an issue coming here. My personal favorite item on the menu is the Fajita Quesadilla. I have many different menu items and have enjoyed them all.

Best Mexican food we have had since moving from New Mexico last year! Lunch fajitas were delish — plus they had our favorite — the Mexican shrimp cocktail. Great salsa & chips, and friendly service. We will be back!

Good food, good service. Place was packed the entire time we were there, yet no one appeared to have to wait long for a seat. Salsa could be more flavorful, but other than that it was a great meal.

On Saturday, June 27, 2015, I drove several miles for a business meeting at this venue on a Saturday. The venue wasn’t open @ the time displayed nor did it open hours after the time. Several potential customer’s were waiting outside They were telling me how good the food and service was and I wanted to see for myself. There were four staff members waiting to get in as well. My first thoughts were something was wrong and I needed to get far away from this venue. Reading the reviews they ranged from 3 – 5 stars depending on your experience. Well, Mine started out as a 1 star and I gave it 2 stars bases on conversations with the staff and customer’s waiting to get in. Looking back at my visit it was probably best I didn’t get inside as i’m sure the time to prepare fresh food would cause a longer wait. How many Chips and Salsa can you snack on when waiting for Authentic Mexican? I will come another time and I’m sure I will be looking further into this venue. My first opinion is mismanagement and poor advertisement!

I’m going to be a little bit biased, in part because I loved coming to El Salto as a kid, but sadly stopped going after my aunt stopped working nearby. I came back here recently with the boyfriend. It has not changed a bit. The food is still the same great food and the service is still pretty good. I love El Salto’s cheese and crave it so much sometimes. I don’t exactly know what kind of cheese it is, but it is one of the best cheeses I’ve ever had. My personal favorite is the Enchilada platter that comes with a bean enchilada, a beef enchilada, a chicken enchilada, and a cheese enchilada. You get the best of all the different worlds and it isn’t so filling that you have to be rolled out of the place.

This is a great spot for a group lunch outing and could be a very inexpensive dinner too. Our complimentary chips arrived crispy and hot with salsa. I asked for a bottle of Cholula hot sauce to kick up the spice. Combo lunch specials range from $ 5.95 to $ 8.95, whereas the dinner combos can be as low as $ 8. You’ll find solid Mexican food akin to Chevy’s or On the Border restaurants — and be getting a good deal — but nothing with a real ‘wow’ factor.

I’ve been looking for a good«fake Mexican» restaurant since I moved here, because I like my Mexican food to include ground beef, cheese, and flour tortillas, and apparently, that’s hard to find. I’m not talking about chain places or Tex Mex, but the kind of restaurants that claim to be authentic Mexican but that serve stuff that you don’t tend to see Mexican people eating — like cheese dip. I think El Salto is my place! I don’t care whether it’s «authentic» or «fake», because it’s good. The staff wasn’t super friendly or attentive, but the food came out quickly, we didn’t run out of drinks or chips or anything, and our orders were correct and really good, so I don’t care. Next time I need some cheese dip or ground beef and cheese in a flour tortilla, this will definitely be the place I go!

Once you go you will never turn back. The food and service are great and the margaritas are delishes. I love the taco salad and chips with cheese dip.

Great place, nothing super fancy. The menu is helpful when you’re not familiar with certain Mexican foods. Margaritas are big! Food is authentic since it’s made by real Mexicans. Great prices on food very affordable!

The service is friendly and the restaurant has that family feel. You feel like you’re visiting a friend’s place. Like I said before nachos, fajitas and a pitcher of beer for under $ 40.00. Excellent!

It’s conveniently located: if you go on the website menu I ordered #20 and taco salad 3 stars only because it taste like any other Mexican place nothing really pops but I did take it to go… This is what I wanted for dinner so I got what I wanted and I’ll most likely order again if I want something close but I like Chevy’s or Plaza Garibaldi(across from Marley station mall) better. They do not deliver only dine in & take out

I came here for my friend’s birthday and the restaurant was able to accommodate our large group of 18 people. They arranged three tables together length wise and added a booth at the end. The chips and salsa were not impressive at all. My friends and I all enjoy spicy food so when we asked for some hot salsa from our waiter all we received was a green dip that was more sour than anything else. However, the wait staff was pretty attentive with taking orders and refilling drinks. Their menu comes with many options; most of it is the regular tex-mex type that you find in chain restaurants(tacos, chimichangas, burritos, enchiladas, etc). They also have an extensive«combo» list where you can mix and match items such as 1 burrito and 2 tacos or 1 taco and 2 enchiladas. I ordered the fajita quesadilla which came with rice, cheese, shrimp, steak, chicken, peppers, and onions. When the food arrived it looked more like a gigantic chalupa from Taco Bell than a quesadilla. The tortilla was thick and crispy and not in that circular shape that I’m used to seeing from a quesadilla. The taste however was pretty good; the shrimp a little bland but the chicken and steak had some nice flavor. As I mentioned before, I enjoy spicy food and my dish was lacking any real spices so I did have to douse some habanero sauce on top. Overall my experience was okay, nothing THAT bad, besides the salsa, and nothing THAT great either. My friends said that all their entrees came out decent as well. Finally when it came time to wish my friend happy birthday, the staff came out with a sombrero and guitar and started singing to him and even made the birthday boy wear the sombrero for the rest of the time we spent there, which I thought was a nice touch.
