Finally had brunch here! I would this restaurant, running, walking, on the bus, while I lived in Brooklyn. Then I moved to Manhattan and I finally made it here! Brunch was amazing, our waitress was awesome and pleasant and the overall atmosphere was great! I got the Backyard breakfast(?); the maple bacon was good and they used a mustard dressing on the mixed greens that wasn’t overpowering but noticeable. My friend enjoyed her meal of Steak and eggs as well; her steak was tender and the home fries were delicious. The unlimited Bellinis were everything! I definitely walked out of there like I need a nap or something cause we definitely got our money’s worth! I will be back for another meal!

Went there yesterday, my creole shrimp and grits came smaller portioned than I’ve experienced and it was lukewarm. Grits should ALWAYS be piping hot. Get bottled water. I’m going to suggest that the business filter their water better. Our server(who takes care of te last three tables near the kitchen) She was tall woman with a part and hair side twist whom I found to be extremely inattentive and at times purposeful b/c we saw her look at our table and keep and she kept walking. The two stars given are based on the grits and our horrible service that day. Generally, this establishment has decent service etiquette. I’ll give Elberta’s another try but I will NOT sit in a section hosted by the waitress reviewed within this post. Her time management per per customer needs to be revisited. Minding 3 tables should be carefully Monitored end to end. For example: 1. Pre existing customer(already eating) 2. New customer(just placing their order requesting drinks & an appetizer) to a 3. New customer(waiting to place their order and needing to have water to start). Hope this helps!

Went here yesterday morning for brunch after going for a run with some friends. We were there as soon as they opened and the service from our waitress Brittany was attentive and impeccable from start to finish. Actually, the entire staff was friendly, greeting every customer that entered. It’s a cozy, intimate restaurant that would probably be awesome for a date. I had the Caesar Salad with perfectly prepared Salmon on top and opted for the Flatbush Royale bottomless brunch. Probably should have had something more substantial considering I had just run 8 miles and the Flatbush Royales were so yummy… but that’s a whole other story;-) I’m originally from the neighborhood and now reside in LI but something about Elberta made me nostalgic. Good to see such a gem in the old neighborhood.

Elberta’s is a cute spot on Flatbush. I have only been here for brunch but I have always been very pleased with the service and the quality of the food. The place is small not super cramped. The atmosphere is really perfect for either a date or gathering with friends where you just talk and chill. Music is always low in the background. Now the food. The chicken and biscuits are great. The biscuit is soft and thick but doesn’t taste doughy. Chicken and waffles is always a good choice. The shrimp and grits I hear is divine.(I have shellfish allergy unfortunately). The barnyard breakfast, while it seems like a simple dish, is amazingly good. The eggs are perfection, the side salad fresh and crisp, and the maple bacon will have you coming back. Just come on in. You won’t regret it.

I went here for brunch on Sunday for my boyfriend birthday. I only have one thing to say… Why does the shrimp still have the head on it??? A big turnoff! Oh, the biscuits are Delicious! Two things.

This place is fabulous. The food was great. I went last weekend for brunch and it was an okay experience, but the food was def worth the wait. First of all the food took a while to come out the place was kind of empty but the food was worth the wait. I had grits and shrimp and the grits were soft and creamy. At my table we also had the steak and eggs, burger and chicken and waffles. The steak in the steak and eggs was tender and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The fried chicken was moist and not greasy. The service is okay, not very good. Another thing is that they advertise and bottomless brunch for drinks if you pay $ 15, but when we got there we were told that we had to get there before 5pm to be able to get it. Besides that the food was great!!!

The food is great, atmosphere i’s great, the bar had a awesome selection. I had the red snapper twice, it was amazing both times. South African mosaic wine was robust and smooth full of flavor. This is what a restaurant should be. I wonder where the ideas come from because know one has come near what the owner of Elbertas has done. Morgan the waitress is very interesting and friendly, and attentive to delivering great customer service. The kitchen staff are great guys with much skill. The bartender is gracious and real cool person that knows the way around a bar and had had good suggestions. Too me this is the standard. Oh did I mention the value and portions will make you feel embarrassed to pay the reasonable prices. Value, excitement, great food and conversation. I was invited by the owner to try, he is so humble you would think he was a bar back. I highly unmistakably know you should eat here, your mate will never forget the experience.:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Happy Valentine’s. Tuesday nite date specials, all day brunch, Support ball watch. 2016 this where I will be!!!

The food was SUPERB! Came here on a Thursday night with a girlfriend, it was empty… I got worried. The waitress was super nice, explained Happy Hour. We ordered the mussels and sticky wings as appetizers. Didn’t care for the sticky wings. The mussels were DIVINE. Had the ribeye and snapper as entrees: homer drool:. So delicious. The drinks were big and tasty too. I really enjoyed this place and the service was great. Not overbearing but always right on time. Can’t wait to come back. Two things the bathroom needs a sign and we could diversify the music a bit. I like the Eagles as much as the next girl but :-/

Elberta’s is a quaint and intimate neighborhood restaurant with great food and well crafted cocktails. Having eaten here twice in 2015 I’m writing my review. They offer a pretty broad and diverse drink menu but what stuck out to me was the option for the mystery cocktail called the«Noble Experiment.» You simply choose a few options such as what type of liquor you prefer and details such as sweet, sour etc and the bartender crafts you a mystery with ingredients of their choice. I found this different and it made for great conversation between my group and the bartenders. My first time here I ordered the smoked salmon as my entrée which was accompanied by collard greens. It’s first grilled and then placed in the smoker for a few minutes I believe the chef said; it’s amazing, a must try when they have it. I learned it’s a seasonal item so they don’t have it year round. I recommend getting another side item with it if hungry because while it was really good, I wasn’t as full as I would have liked to be. I was there in May 2015 so in a few more months I’ll be returning to look for it again. I hope they have tostones this time as last time they’d run out. Supposedly their really good. Highly recommended!

2 things are bringing this rating down, the ventilation and the service. The entire place was smokey when we arrived, they tried to air it out by opening the entrance door and some windows, it helped but the cold air took over so they eventually closed the front door. By the end of the meal, the place was smokey again and my eyes were watering. At first the service seemed good, the manager greeted us as well as a waitress, but it somehow still took about 10 minutes to be seated when there were multiple tables available. We had to ask if we could be seated. The waitresses service and attention wasn’t that great as the meal went on. We weren’t asked how we were doing and if we needed anything, we had a hard time getting her attention. I was also surprised that the manager didn’t go around to check on the customers and ask about their experience/service, he was just hanging at the bar. What was good was the food. I just had the cheesy grits which were delicious. One of my friends had the french toast and she said it was AMAZING. My other friend had the bird and waffle, also a good meal and she got a good amount of chicken. I would also expect for the unlimited brunch cocktail special to be served as long as brunch is being served, but as someone else noted, they cut off the unlimited drinks portion at 5pm, while brunch is served until 8pm. I would probably go back for the food, but would prefer it a warmer day so the windows and door could stay open to help clear the air.

I came here for brunch this morning and it was delicious. I ordered the Barnyard Breakfast without meat which consists of eggs(mine had cheese), salad, and a buttermilk biscuit – damn it was good. The portion was small yet filling which I was happy about because I was super hungry and restaurants tend to play you with their portions these days LOL. The vibe of this place is very laid-back and sophisticated yet very urban but not too trendy. Since I came for brunch on a Sunday it wasn’t very crowded at all but I here it gets busy as time passes. My waitress was also a sweetheart, checking up on my «date» and I throughout our meal, refilling our glasses with water. I also ordered an iced tea which was meh, nothing special but the food was good so didn’t really matter to me. My total came up to about $ 23 plus $ 2 gratuity. Overall, nice chill spot.

Excellent! I honestly don’t know what could make this place better. The food, the cocktail, the dessert… Everything was great! Plus, the service was very good– which is increasingly hard to find in Brooklyn. The mussels… Get them! The rblackened ribeye was perfect and really big. The Bourbon chocolate cake was sooo good.

Came here for brunch & brunch we got. Got here later than we wished, but brunch was all day from 11 – 8. The unlimited mimosas were not, which was slightly disappointing, we arrived after the cut off.(5pm I believe) I believe the manager/owner greeted us & seated us. He was very nice Our waitress, Morgan, was really nice. Ordered the Bird & Waffle with cheesy grits on the side. The cheesy grits weren’t all that great. It was clumpy & the cheese was just in one spot. Tried to mix it, but that didn’t work out too well. Thought the grits would be a little bit more looser. Tried my friend’s mac & cheese, should’ve gotten that instead. The Bird & Waffle was good. The waffle didn’t come as warm as I expected. Maybe they made the waffle first, then fried the chicken. Either way, not like my waffle was ice cold or anything like that. The chicken was great. It was just like if you made fired chicken at home. The drinks were great too. Had a mimosa & a bellini supreme. I highly recommend the bellini supreme. The venue is small so it can get loud, especially when everyone in the restaurant had unlimited mimosas. I shall be back in the future & make sure I make it for unlimited drinks.

I really enjoyed dining at Elberta. This place makes you feel right at home. I went for brunch and ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of Mac and cheese. The grits where very chunky and Ended up not finishing them, but the flavor of the shrimp and bacon was very tasty. The Mac and cheese was pretty mediocre. I give this place 4 stars for service and 3 for food. The hostess and waiters really make you feel special here. They also kept the unlimited mimosas flowing!

Excellent service. Great food. Fabulous drinks. Came here for a large party birthday dinner. The servers were attentive, and the ambiance was nice. Here’s what I had: — deviled eggs: amazing — mussels: great. Nice sized portion(a little salty but good) — salmon entrée: average(lacked flavor) — snapper: amazing I recommend and would return.

I have been here for Brunch twice and both times my experience was good. I had their unlimited mimosa deal both times and they are quick with the refills. By the time I left both times, I had at least 13 glasses of mimosa. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My highlight from both experiences is the owner who is very active in the day to day operations at the restaurant. He interacts with all the customers and even serves the food. You must try their brunch menu burger(the bread is the secret) I would definitely be paying them another visit. #BlackOwnedBusiness

Randomly found this restaurant on Unilocal on a visit to NYC, and it’s okay. The lighting is way too dark for afternoon brunch and the food wasn’t terrible but definitely not one of my top places to eat. I got the bird and waffle, and the chicken was overcooked. The meat was juicy, but the skin was hard and burned a little. The waffle was tough… it felt like I was cutting into, and eating, a sponge. However, my friends really enjoyed their shrimp and grits, and steak and potatoes so maybe I should’ve gotten something else… maybe next time. I will say that if you’re a drinker(I’m not, butbmy friends are) than you should take advantage of the unlimited mimosas for $ 15 during brunch.

If you love deviled eggs like I do, then scramble on over to Elberta. Creamy, light and flavorful, garnished with crunchy bits of shallots, a party in your mouth. Having them 3 times in as many weeks is still not enough. The shrimp tempura lettuce wraps, steamed mussels, & truffle fries are all favorites too. The shrimp and hearty stoned ground grits-good. The Tasty Tuesdays South African wine parings were a perfect touch & have turned me into a wine lover. Excellently prepared and great presentations. The service is attentive and friendly. The owners are all hands on deck. #elbertabrooklyn #DINEInBlack #VeronicaPromotions

Arrived here around 4:50 on a Saturday, hoping to sit down immediately and eat. It looked to be a staff meeting going on and there was no one seated. Walked in and the owner advised us that the kitchen didn’t open until 5, but that we could have a seat at the bar. Cool! After 10 min or so we finally got some drinks and 5 mins later proceeded to place our order from the very limited dinner menu. We ordered salmon, sticky wings, rice and peas, and Mac n cheese. After waiting a while and seeing another table get their food when we had been here earlier, I started to get upset. 45 mins after ordering our food, we had nothing. I politely voiced my concern to the bartender/waiter, Laura. The rice I ordered was ready, and for some reason they brought it out before any of the other food. I was starving! I heard about the restaurant from the Black Owned Restaurant Month and had high expectations. I was DISAPPOINTED! Obviously, I told them to take it back because I didn’t want rice and peas alone. They took it back and after seeing how upset we were, checked in on our food. We finally get it and there’s a hair in our Mac n cheese. UGH!!! Now I’m pissed. They take it back come over and apologize and by then I’m annoyed. Luckily I was hungry enough so I ate all my food. I hope it was just the fact they had JUST opened for dinner and they didn’t have it together. Either way… Not an excuse. To make it up They gave us complimentary beer, and other libations. The bartender, Laura was great so Yay for that. Her tone and demeanor even when I was bothered was calming. But the drama to get the food was a bit much. Needless to say, don’t come right at 5pm. Owner made up for it though, maybe we’ll come for Brunch.

I heard about Elberta on so my crew went to try the brick chicken(very tender) and salmon(smoked BBQ flavor). We found both to be GREAT and they left us craving them a month later. To our dismay, we found out their menu is seasonal and both options were no longer offered on their menu. Unfortunately, we didn’t find anything else appealing however, their cocktails – the long count(strong) and the spicy chill(refreshing) were on point. If you’re daring, the bartender will also customize a cocktail for you based on your drink personality. It was a worthwhile try for one of our diners. The vibe is very laid back and Brooklyn-style cool and the staff is very friendly. If those two dishes return to the menu again, I’ll be back.

I came back in June and the service and food is not the same. My chicken and waffles did not taste the same as the fist time. The waffle was hard as if it was a frozen waffle thrown into the toaster. The fruit punch was definitely not the same. It was not freshly made with the fruits in it. Tasted more like a canned fruit punch. I believe the cooks and management of this restaurant changed. No Bueno.

Made a reservation here for a group of 8 people on July 4 for brunch. We were seated immediately, and our server Bianca was wonderful– really friendly, helpful, and attentive. The ambiance was nice with simple yet functional and stylish décor, and the brunch menu was incredible. For $ 15– unlimited mimosas, bellinis and bloody marys– and they were VERY quick with the refills. I had the French toast with a side of maple bacon and damn I’ve never had bacon like that before. It’s like it was taken straight off the pig and thrown on the stove(in a good way). So much for my healthy weekend diet plans(LOL). I also tried some of my friend’s shrimp and grits dish(amazing) and a bite of my boyfriend’s fried chicken and waffles(extra amazing!!!) I want to go back and try their dinner menu– I’m sure it’s great. New favorite place!

I have been here a couple of times and each time was very enjoyable. The location is awesome, close to the park if you need to walk that meal down:) And near many other shops. Because of the open front it seem like your eating outside but not… very good for people watching. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious. Also for brunch it never hurts to have a bottomless drink special! I will be back!!!:)

If rather unfortunate that my experience here had been so opposite. I get here around 5ish, sit at the bar and inform the bartender that I’m waiting for someone. Why did i say that? She acted like I wasn’t there… no conversation, no menu, and dam sure no water. Like not even a glass of water? Really? So my date gets there a few mins later and we debate on getting a table or remaining at the bar, we opted for the bar. Finally we’re presented with menus and THEN the«service» begins. We ordered our drinks(a glass of wine and a whiskey ginger) and placed our appetizer at which time we were informed that it’s happy hour… first great news. We remained with our drinks and STILL had to ask for water. Like why is providing water to patrons an issue? The drinks arrive and the whiskey ginger tastes like water and ginger… the wine was okay. We get the food and it’s bland. Why are sticky wings bland? Wow, just wow. Okay, we are the wings, mack and cheese and artichoke fries… I was hungry«/. Be mindful, by the time we get our food my drink is finished. The bartender came back to our side of the bar more than 4x and didn’t bother to ask me if I wanted another drink, she didn’t even make eye contact… I had to flag her down to get another round. At which time she casually informed us that, «happy hour is over, everything is full priced». To which I replied, «so can I still get what we ordered?». The service here has SERIOUSLY fallen below average, and that’s me being generous. I’ve visited man times, I’ve even hosted brunch here on many occasions… I do not plan on returning. If you want good food and prompt service then go elsewhere. Do not waste your time or money here!!!

I cannot speak for the food because I did not(and could not, being vegan) eat anything here. My friends and I waited for a seat at the bar Sunday afternoon. I heard their spiked Arnold Palmers were good, so I had to try them. We waited about 15 minutes. The place was pretty packed! The hostess had to turn away some groups coming in because there was no way they were gonna be able to accommodate them before they closed. As with any popular place, COMEEARLY! That way, you can minimize your wait and enjoy it more. The atmosphere is pretty loud, but looks swanky inside with pretty modern furniture and décor. The music playing was some hip hop and pop. After we finally get seated, we ordered the drinks. Warning/tip: these drinks are STRONG. I’m not a lightweight when it comes to drinking, but I started feeling nice after one drink. Have a couple more and you’ll probably be having the best boozy brunch/daytime drinking experience.
