This place is all about value. You stand in line behind the buffet equivalent of a bulletproof sneeze-guard, pick a small($ 5) or large($ 8?) tin, pick out what you want from their offerings that day, and they will pack as much of it as they can into said tin as humanly possible. Always with a steady but quick moving line(especially during breakfast and lunch) they have you covered for pretty much any meal. For breakfast an order of french toast(cinnamony whole wheat bread) w/home fries(the Hispanic ones w/peppers and onions, not the crispy Americanized ones) and turkey bacon will run you like $ 6.50. They also have oatmeal(avena), all the various egg items, and traditional Dominican breakfast dishes(mangu etc.). As with many Latin take out spots, they have a menu that changes daily, with a few items that seem like they’re offered everyday. For lunch/dinner there are rotisserie chickens(that you can see turning on spits throughout the day), chicharron de pollo(too bad they don’t offer it sin hueso), white or yellow rice, beans(which are a bit thick and bland for my liking, but then again, if you’re hispanic, no one makes beans as good as your mother), bacalao(codfish), soups/stews(sancocho, chicken soup, etc.), pernil(roast pork), salads and whatever other specials of the day. I’m a fan of the tilapia(in a reddish, peppery, lemony, almost cream sauce) and the fried whiting. But everything I’ve had here has been good, especially for the price. They’re open 6am — Midnight most nights, so it’s convenient, and while this isn’t the place to go if you want fine dining(it is just a large bodega after all), they will do you right for a good, quick, inexpensive meal.

This is a grocery store that makes most of their money on the cooked food they make. My co-workers and I go here at least 4 times a week for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. For the small $ 5 order they pour your food in a small foil container. But don’t underestimate the size. When you spread it out on a flat plate, it’s a whole lot of food. The food mainly consist of Dominican American food. Now I shall let you guys know what I’ve tried, which all has been GOOD!!! Breakfast: Mangu(Mashed Plantains) or Yuca with Fried Over Easy Eggs, Fried Salami and Fried Cheese with Sauteed Onions… YUMMMMMM!!! Turkey, Bacon, Egg(option of Eggs White) and Cheese on Roll or Sliced Wheat Toast… YUMMMMMM!!! they also have the typical pancakes any type of omelets made to your specifications, grits, oatmeal, home fries. Lunch or Dinner They always have White Rice and some type of yellow rice which may have chicken or vegetables in it. Always good. Beans– Very good especially coming from someone whose extremely picky about beans because NOONE makes them like my mom. Chicharron De Pollo(Fried Chicken Chunks) — These are really good. Everywhere Ive tried them, I always have to add lemon. Here I can eat it without lemon. YUMMMMMM… Stewed Beef– YUMMMMMM… the gravy taste good and they add in peppers and onions which I LOVE… Stewed Chicken– I’m very picky about eating this in restaurants, because my mother makes this soooooo good that she has ruined me. However, they make it good. Stewed Liver– YESLIVER… I like liver… and once again, my mother spoiled me with this, they serve this only on Thursdays :(, but they always same me some because they know I’m coming… lol. I usually get it with white rice and beans and they make it pretty damn good. Rotisserie Chicken– This taste really good, no need for condiments. It goes great with any type of rice and beans or Yuca with a lot of red onions YUMMMMMM… BBQ Pork Chops with Sauteed Onions– I was hesitant to try this, but damn it, it was worth it… tender and great tasting… This is definitely not all, but I’m tired and hungry now… They also make burgers, sandwiches and etc… OMG…I should just get a job here and call it a day… they can pay me in food… BLESSTHEIRCOOK!!!
