THISPLACEISAMAZING !!!, with all honesty the best most authentic Mexican food I found in Brooklyn. Everything is made with love and you can taste it! I also enjoy the Mexican sodas they have to really feel like I’m in Mexico. I would recommend a burrito, but if it’s too much for some people, soft shell tacos will do the job. Must try if in downtown Brooklyn you will see what I’m talking about.

Their shrimp fajita is really good & filling. Even though it tasted great couldn’t eat it all one time only ate like half they put a lot of shrimps, & everything else in there. The Philly cheesesteak is really good too. If in the area again would definitely stop by again!

Really great cheap authentic Mexican food. My favorites are the Chorizo breakfast burrito, and Burrito Nopales. Yum!

I was really craving some authentic Mexican food, so I decided to checkout this place because of pretty good recent reviews. Lunch time on a Monday. Ordered torta el pastor($ 7.50). I did liked the authentic style, which i was going for, and the food wasn’t bad at all by any means. But the flavor was a bit off. Also, even though I ate the torta right after it came out, it was barely warm and queso wasn’t melted. Portion size was adequately generous. Also, there were no salsa sauces(roja or tomatillo). Had to use some random texas style hot sauce. The lady in front and the cook was nice. I also liked the Mexican themed outdoorsy dining area. Not sure if I would come back to this place. I would have to check out other Mexican places around the area.

This Mexican restaurant is definitely authentic! Only problem I feel it’s a little overpriced but I guess that’s park slope New York for you.

This place is one of the last remaining amazing spots in Boerum Hill. In a neighborhood that is being overrun by chain restaurants and clothing stores we have to protect the little mom and pop businesses in this place tops that list for me. These guys will charge you $ 3 for a breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese vegetables beans green sauce meanwhile Sparrow café down the street charges $ 9 for something much less substantial and satisfying. Plus they have an amazing backyard where you can eat your sandwich and watch a soccer game.

I want to like this place. It’s quaint, family-owned, and caters to a local crowd and the people that work there are super nice. The menu is varied and the food is cheap. But unfortunately, the meat is also cheap. Like very cheap, maybe grade-C chicken(is that such a thing)? I dig the authenticity, but I don’t need to eat the same quality of meat they’d serve back in Mexico. Got a sandwich from there today and not only was the chicken pink and undercooked, it was also grizzly and frankly didn’t even look like chicken. I’m writing this review for myself as much as anyone, so I can hopefully remember to skip this place next time I walk by. Because I really like the idea, but my stomach might not(jury’s still out on that one.)

Good street style Mexican food is hard to find in this city. This place is on point. Do yourself a favor and skip the fancier chain taco shop that is across the street and dip in this place instead. Sure it’s smaller, grittier, and warmer in the summer but… They have a range of 2 $ tacos with real Mexican ingredients, such as mole, lengua, pastor, chorizo and among others. Their breakfast sandwiches and burritos are huge AND delicious. I think the street style burritos are the real star of the show. It’s enough for two meals and comes in at 6.50. They’ve also got a nice covered patio in the back that is great for eating with co-workers.

If you want authentic Mexican cuisine this is the spot you want to visit. It may not be fancy but at the end of the day I’m looking for homemade style food. Today I’m having a torta de Milanesa de pollo. The tacos here are excellent and the nachos supreme are out of this world.

It’s true. They make the most amazing bean, rice, and cheese burrito this side of California. I almost don’t need the delicious salsa verde that I get with it. In the past, there has been some variation in flavor(we’ve been ordering from here for the past 4 years), but I gave them feedback at some point and they must have taken it to heart because over the last few months it has been consistently good. Also, I want to thank you, F&F, for not judging me for ordering the same thing from you everyday for a week straight.

Like you are Mexico! very authentic! Cheap and decent burritos. The place doesn’t scream cleanliness though(actually we couldn’t even find their score card) For $ 6.50 you get a hearty size burrito. It’s not fancy but it’s definitely more authentic then the Oaxaca across the street(which btw seems a bit cruel having both across from each other) Also the lack of Mexican beers here really doesn’t help. The back patio would be perfect for beers and burritos. The girlfriend did have a upset stomach after. Again just like Mexico!

Come here for the cheap tacos. Stay for the backyard. Tacos are about $ 2.50-$ 3 apiece. Get the chorizo or the chivo(goat) tacos. You can skip the pork ones. Their pastor isn’t actually al pastor(no spit in sight), and the enchilada(spicy pork) was just okay. The tortillas seemed a bit stale to me. And they’re pretty barebones when it comes to condiments(there was very, very crusty bottle of Valentina hot sauce on the counter). Service is a bit slow. I watched a woman walk in to buy some chips and get ignored by the staff. She even called at them, and they just told her to wait. Tacos took awhile to make too. But oh, the backyard. A wonderful place to be when the weather’s nice. It looked like they had just started setting up for the summer and futbol season. There was a Mexican flag that still had creases from being in a package, and there were employees putting up an off-brand flat screen TV. I imagine it’d be a fun place to catch a game and eat a couple of tacos. They’re not officially BYOB, but if you ask nicely and pour your beers into a paper cup… Anyway, go to Sunset Park or Queens if you want good tacos.

I love everything about this place. Sure, it’s not the fanciest looking place in the neighborhood, but they have so many authentic Mexican food items to choose from. Victor and his wife, the proprietors, are extremely friendly… If you see something that you’re not sure of, they are more than happy to give you a sample to taste. This place beats Oaxaca across the street hands down. Also, in reading some of these 1 and 2 star reviews, it’s clear that some people just can’t be satisfied unless their plates are flaked with gold and someone is fanning them with palm fronds.

I really wanted to love this place. I had a little mexican bodega in the east village which served the most authentic and delicious food around. However, I thought the food here was just mediocre and not very fresh. It looked like the various trays of meat had been sitting there all day and I was worried about even ordering it. I was excited about the mole chicken burrito from past reviews but it was only decent and pretty gooey with too much sauce. The highlight was actually the fish taco, which was very good with fresh tortillas and avocado. The pork tamale was too dry and too spicy. The guy I ordered with didn’t understand any english and my little spanish wasn’t enough for him to get the order right, so I left with one less taco than I thought I ordered. The prices are great, but I think there are better options(like maybe the brand spanking new Oaxaca across the street).

Not bad at all! Looks like a rando shop that might serve you crappy food but it’s pretty good burrito! I’m from SF originally and I was always told good Mexican food doesn’t exist in the east coast. I opted for the chicken mole instead of the famous al pastor cause I don’t do pineapples :(. The chicken mole burrito uses chicken leg meat instead of breast(so said on menu) I also opted out of sour cream, but yes to everything else including cheese! I like how the mole isn’t overbearing but still has that small kick to it. The meat is soft and easy to bite and yes, the bits of peppers is different than a Cali burrito but I liked it nonetheless Total for the burrito was $ 7!

Who knew that there’s great Mexican food in Downtown Brooklyn? Having moved from San Francisco last year, I’ve been searching for a good pastor taco in vain ever since! Thankfully, Fast & Fresh delivers delicious, inexpensive Mexican food in a low-key, homey environment. While you won’t find California avocados here, you will find a trio of perfectly seasoned al pastor tacos for just $ 6. Their burritos include some unorthodox touches like roasted peppers and tomatoes, and are also worth trying. There’s a spacious back patio which is perfect for big groups or just relaxing in hot weather. A must-try if you’re in Downtown BK for lunch!

I work in the proximity and had passed by this place countless times largely due to its modest appearance. This wound up a mistake as this place is a little gem that serves great authentic Mexican food. Now, until I started coming here, I had not been fan of the Mexican cuisine(thanks, east coast!), but this place made me reconsider. The backyard seating area makes it great option for a lunch sit down. As I said, the place is not appealing to the eye, but perhaps that’s a blessing in disguise as it definitely adds authentic charm. I highly recommend the steamed goat tacos — love it when they add the fattier goat pieces in there :))). The chicken mole burrito is the favorite of those I’ve tried so far. Here, the creamy, rich mole sauce is a standout. This place is a no-brainer, especially for lunch. The food is delicious and cheap. Can’t ask for much more.

The burrito is still warm in my belly as I write this review, so I think I can provide a fair assessment of how it is. I’ve been on a quest to find a SoCal burrito in NYC. So far, all the recommendations I’ve received haven’t hit the mark — until now. This is the most authentic San Diego-style burrito I’ve had since moving to the East Coast. If you’re a Californian, you’ll feel right at home at this hole-in-the-wall spot. My recommendation is the mole burrito, but the tort as look really good too. The reason I docked a star? The chicken was a little grisly. But the mole was perfect, as were the beans, rice and crema.

This is my favorite place to get mexican food in all of NYC! This place seems like your average deli from the outside but on the inside they make some of the best Mexican food in New York. I live in Manhattan but whenever I am in Brooklyn I make it a point to stop by here. I usually get tacos or tostadas. The tacos always come served on two corn tortillas. I’ve tried pretty much all of their meats and they are all delicious. Their Carnitas is always perfectly tender and tasty. The tostada shells stay crispy and somehow hold up all of the toppings that they put on them. My one recommendation if you go is get a chorizo tostada. It is one of the best things I have ever eaten!
