Fish Eye Bar and Grill

Pros: waiter was nice and very apologetic (see cons)
Cons: waited 57minutes for food. I order side of rice and peas, plantains and fish cakes. Cook forgot to make my fish cakes. This is what the waiter actually told me…“cook forgot”.
They did not try to make them or anything else. After waiting 57min I got a small plate with rice and peas that was spread out on the plate like jelly (flat). I counted 7 forks worth of rice. The plantains were good. My hubby split his pasta with me so I wouldn’t starve to death.
Sorry, first impressions are standing impressions. Will not ever return.

Ladies, when you attend this establishment make sure you look mediocre. Apparently, the waitress do not like to serve women who are gorgeous, beautiful, and dressed to kill. My friends went to this place, looking good as always. They sat at the bar for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged them. They were told someone would take their order shortly. Shortly turned into another 30 minutes. Still no waitress. Male customers who came after them were served before them. If these waitresses were intimidated by my friends it definitely showed. So to the entire staff at Fish Eye Bar and Grill, jealously is ugly and ignorance is intolerable.

The absolute worst place in my life!!! First off when we arrived it was only like two people eating. But yet we waited like 25 – 30 minutes for drinks smh okay so we forgot about enjoyed our time with our drinks but we finished me and waited another 25 – 30 minutes for our food which they forget half of. Then time for the bill we paid cash in tip and now the card machine is not working. Okay no problem we will use the atm ooh the ATM is not working either andddd they took money out for money we didn’t get okay now it’s a problem. So the manager comes he’s yelling he’s defensive as if we caused the problem okay cool lets go outside and findddd an ATM and now he has his money he’s still being rude no thank you no I appreciate your business just plain being rude. Okay cool NEVER AGAIN. At a different time in my life I would have had the whole Canarsie there but I’m a better person God Bless him and don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split you.

This place is actually is awesome. From outside your’e like ah one of those local places. But the ambiance was nice. I came with my gf around 9 pm on friday night. The hostess I believe Daza? was very nice and informed us that the dj was on his way cus we were expecting live music at that moment. My gf and I really did not know what to order! Our server, Ray saved the night by suggesting the delicious spicy salmon. I came back the following night because I heard sat night is party night! My guys and I ordered the chicken platter that took forever to come out but the waitress explained the reason and our patron margaritas were on point! Underrated spot with great food and drinks!

The music can be overly loud, so don’t expect to hold business meetings here, but the service and vibe was on point. Nice Thursday night hang out spot. Hookah and Reggae, great mix.

So we actually wanted to go to Footprints which was about a 3 minute drive away but it was packed in there! And the hostess said it would be about an hour wait for 4 people. So we looked up this place and came here. Now listen, we went on a Saturday night at around 9pm. Every spot we passed was crowded and packed! Fish Eye was empty! I mean there was no one in there. Well there were a few people at the bar and about 10 other people at different tables. So we were a little bit apprehensive.
So we walk in and the place is nice and cute. Not too big but they had a live DJ playing the hottest music. The waiter finally came over after 15 minutes and got our drink order. Then took another 15 minutes to bring it over. I ordered their homemade fruit punch. It was so good guys! I highly recommend it. It’s $ 4 btw. The food took a long time to come. Maybe like 30 minutes. I personally didn’t mind waiting but my friends were getting hungry, lol. I think because they make it fresh instead of frozen.
I ordered their rasta pasta jerk style. The plate was HUGE!!! My friend ordered the same thing and we both had to get a doggie bag because the portion was so good. For $ 15, not bad! Let me tell you. Two of my other friends got the salmon. One got it grilled and the other got stewed salmon. They both tasted amazing! I liked the grilled salmon though. I think the salmon was like $ 17 or $ 19. Not bad at all. I also ordered a side order of cabbage which came after our food. I was scared I would finish my food before it came. It was a nice size. It was $ 3.
Our bill came to about $ 115. They included a 17% tip and tax. Overall, I had a great time. I wonder why it was so empty. However, as we were leaving, around midnight, more people were coming in and it slowly got a bit crowded. I would def come here again.

I don’t usually frequent restaurant like this one, but I was invited out to a GNO there. we didn’t get a waitress to come take out order for at least 30 mins and didn’t get our drinks for another 30 mins. i would never step foot in this establishment again.

My experience was horrible … When I went there they took a long time to service me and my friend with our drinks … The music was good .: but when the end of the night came and we wanted to order more drinks all of a sudden they choose to shut down the bar with out informing the customers… They told me they we’re closing the credit card system. They we’re telling the customers that they would only take cash only … I wouldn’t visit this establishment again.

The worst place ever. I had to pay $ 20 entry to get in. Then I paid $ 20 for a Steak the size of my thumb and it was over cooked like i was bum. Then the waiter had a stink attitude when I asked for more water. I was disgusted.

This place is a big joke. I don’t even know how they got 3stars cos they deserve none. Came here with a friend for the seafood after hearing so much about it and I wish I read the reviews before even making an attempt on a cold rainy night.
We walked in at 10:25pm and there was no waitress, so we went to the bar and the bartender gave a menu and told us to sit anywhere which we did. Found out later she was the bartender and waitress plus she was the only one working. The Dj was blasting some music, there were about 9 other people drinking and relaxing. After 15mins of waiting, I approached her to find out if anyone was gonna take our orders. She said she forgot about us, came over and took the orders. Drinks didn’t come till 11:10pm which was another sign that this place is crap. A group of guys came in, were taken care of and even left before us. Finally after waiting for 2hrs, the app and entrée that we ordered since 10:40pm came out together. I ordered the steamed snapper with white rice and chicken tenders for app and my friend had the rastapasta with shrimp. The food was heavily salted like eeeewwww. The chef must have heavy hands plus how long does it take to steam some fish so we approached her, paid and left. The service was just ridiculous, bartender/​waitress said management does not want to hire becos they’re being cheap. This place shld close down apparently they don’t need the money. What a waste of money, time and space. I’m an avid Unilocal reader however i never write reviews but i had to register just so i can alert others. Pls save your money, don’t go there.

This is definitely one of my favorite go-​to local bars but the bartenders make me want to stop spending my money there altogether.
Came here last week with 5 other people to relax with a few rounds of margaritas. The bartender wouldn’t even acknowledge us… and there wasn’t anyone else ordering drinks at the bar! After 20 min, one of us asked her if she could take our order. She told us we had to wait with no further information. Once our food came, I told the other bartender that there is no point in giving us food if we can’t get drinks. The 2^nd bartender made all 6 drinks immediately. Unfortunately, we were ignored after that. At this point, we gave up and went to Aura where the hospitality was 100% better :-)
This is not the first, second or third time this has happened. Now I know that in the future, I should drink at another establishment and only go here for the music.

Ugh, it pains me to write this brutally honest review of a local spot with my Caribbean roots and all BUT after Sat night’s episode there, I’m compelled! So, I made plans with an old college girlfriend to meet up and catch up. it’s been years and after driving around, chatting and passing several restaurants, I decided to come here for apps„ music and drinks… easy right? Well, well, I arrived around 11:45pm and it wasn’t that busy but ppl were there. We grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar and waited, and waited and waited for someone to approach us for drinks… NOTHING. Ok fine, you’re busy. I stopped a waitress (remember we’re at the bar in front of the terminal) and asked her to take our order — she proceeds to tell me she can’t because I have to walk to the bar to order! I reminded her I’m at the bar sarcastically and she said no, this is the terminal area! I told her how silly it was and then mentioned I wanted to order food and asked if there’s a special spot for that also? She mentioned that we can order food and she would take care of us despite the rules… whewww! OR SO I THOUGHT… she never came back to us! So now I stopped another lady in the bar and posed the same question and she willingly took our drink and food order. By this time, we’ve been there for over an hour waiting patiently. We could have easily been on drink #2 but your $$ loss. So while we were waiting, there were several ppl at the bar by the kiosk that were waiting to pay for their food, etc and they had to «run down’ a server to take their money… my girlfriend mentioned that obv. this place don’t need the money and I begged to differ. All in all, management needs to be aware of these hiccpus and correct it. I’m fair and honest in my review but feel service needs an overhaul to maximize the potential of this place. I used to come here before it officially opened — before they got their liquor license and I was really pleased with the space and service but I guess it all fizzled now. Oh, another thing, we ordered the jerk wings and cod fish cakes. the cod fish was a bit salty but ok it’s salt fish but the jerk wings was straight fire! Wayyyy to much jerk seasoning chef. patrons are expected to enjoy the meal it was just too overpowering.
So best of luck with the service if you go there, The next day I mentioned it all to my sis and hubby and they were disappointed to hear about it naturally as they go from time to time. Me. I’m done! I work too hard for my cash to deal with that plus other shenanigans which I can’t bother to type.

Went here for girls night out. The food, d.j., and service was excellent. I had a great time, and would continue coming. Way better than footprints.

Its Saturday and some people are strolling in. The waiter said Friday nights are the busy nights; I will try and find myself back here Labor day wknd or something. But so far, the vibe is cool not hype or anything. The place is definitely spacious. And its better to drive here but I wanted to be «safe», so I took two buses (b8 and transferred to the b47). It wasn’t too bad but next time, I’m freaking driving, lol!!!

Came in the other night the music was good;but a little too loud, the henny cocktails nice and strong, I had 2 appetizers crab cakes and banana fritters both yummy !

This was my second visit to Fisheye and it was horrible. The drinks were good but…
— The air conditioning was BROKEN (on a 90 degree Summer day)
–It was empty but the food took forever and was still cold when it was served.
— Our waiter had an altercation with someone so she had to leave. This left our table abandoned, I spent an hour trying to pay my bill. I should have walked out.
–They made an attempt to charge 17% gratuity because my party had five guests.
–The same item had different prices on the bill.
It was very embarrassing for me in front of my guests.
Please do not go here!!!

I’ve been here before and never had any complaints. Good food. Good drinks. The music was loud, I had to yell to be heard maybe the owner should look into installing the speakers along the walls to help the acoustics. Needless I’ll be back.

This place is a nice spot to go to. Its sort of like footprints but a little more upscale with more room to move around. I came on a Saturday at 10pm & the place was empty. It took forever for the waiter to approach us but when he did, we received our drinks rather quickly. I ordered curry chicken & it was $ 12. The drinks are pretty strong, i ordered patron with cranberry and lets just say after 3 sips, my head was feeling greattt lmao. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxing, calm night !

Food is absolutely amazing. The wait time is crazy when you’re starving but it’s worth it when you get the food. Their wings are delicious.

Eek! Methinks not !
I was taken here by a date. It’s a hole in the wall type of spot and it was empty. The drinks were terrible and watered down. Before I wrote my review I browsed through some of the other ratings and I have to ask, WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! Some people gave it 4 stars? Seriously? The food was horrible, the drinks were flat and watery like old soda. The food at footprints is better. Foot prints isn’t my favorite place either but when it comes to their food, they win compared to this place.
The only bright side is the staff. They are very welcoming and friendly.
