I have stopped here for at lease 4 random occasions, it takes only a few minutes to see just how good a place this is, basically if you don’t see any strays hanging outside, puffing away then go in. I’m a person who likes space though, 8 feet to my left and right facing to bar. When I stopped it was not packed at all, but I never noticed it. For now the drink prices are fair to normal. Just bring standby money with you anyway, you can never go wrong.

Willie is the best bartender ever. He makes you feel you are in midtown. My favorite place in Bay Ridge.

Decent bar and varied to older crowd. Not too divey not too pretentious. Not a fan of the tiny fru fru stemware glasses for mixed drinks though. Unless I’m ordering brandy or similar a drink glass should be a freaking highball glass… end rant. Still not a bad place to hit up.

Laid back bar with some good DJ nights since DJ Logo started playing. Wolf theme going on here-decent drink prices and cool bartenders– no hassle. Love the black lights and open windows when it’s warm. 3 TVs with sports sometimes and a big screen projector in the back at times. Cool local crowd. Bathrooms I decent shape when they stock toilet paper.

I mean, if you want cheap drinks and good music, then you’re in pretty good hands here. Don’t expect to find A or even B-listers up in here, but do expect to have a good time if you go with your own group of friends. Ask about their $ 30 open bar.

‘Full Moon Saloon’ is a longtime staple for 5th Ave(the street for *serious* drinking in Bay Ridge). Its located near ‘Skinflint’s’; ‘Bullshots’; and the new ‘Hideout’(I’ve reviewed all of these) and guess what? You’d never believe it but its the happy medium which has the best parts of all of its neighbors. The perfect drinking environment you might say; although on the surface its barely distinguishable from any other bar in the area. The chemistry is subtle, you have to try the place a few times to discover the soul goin’ on here. If you come on the wrong evening, you could easily walk away with a flawed impression. Some nights have surly, scowling, ratty skells prowling around with their knuckles dragging the floor and other nights have sweet little old ladies knocking back G&Ts. Yet all these disparate groups who frequent the place don’t find themselves crowding each other. Its like a coral reef, different fish feed(drink) at different hours. When they overlap, there’s still harmony. It works here, but fails at Skinflints. Why? Don’t know. Sunday: NFL. Huge projection screen Monday night: Darts Night.(serious darts bar) Tuesday: Regulars early, kids late Wednesday: Regulars early, kids late Thursday: DJ Night(kids) Friday: Everybody Saturday — HUGE karaōke! Karoke better even than Jolly Pigeon. Packed crowd of all ages. You’ll hear Du-wop, Elvis, Sinatra, Harry Chapin, Lionel Ritchie, Commodores. Elton John. Dr. John. Giuseppe Verdi. Johnny Cash. Bonnie Tyler. Its a small bar, of course(much regalia related to wolves and wolfpacks and baying-at-the-moon; etc.) and weeknights(when only 3 – 4 drinkers seem to keep the night going) it can seem as if they are the only spirits in the place. But the truth is, this bar has a bubbling undercurrent which welcomes first-timers. At any moment, you can find a great dirty joke or a chat about sports. Even if they’ve never seen you before; they will extend you courtesy and civility. Its the right thing to do. That’s really the thing about this bar, there is a strong sense of community and of ‘doing the right thing by people’. Whether its their buyback policy or giving you a place to put your coat. If you come in here and show politeness you will get it returned in spades. Even when the place gets thronged with 70+ people(after 1am; ages ranging from 21 — 80) everyone gets along. No problems, no bad blood. There’s been almost no mishaps **for years**. No drug use; no brawls or noise complaints, no disputes with neighbors or cops. Startling, when you think about it: a Bay Ridge bar which keeps its nose clean; honors its old-timey blue-collar customers. and at the same time, attracts the young, dumb, party crowd too. Other local bars should take note. This is how you do it. I can’t say what their formula is,(possibly the $ 3 Pabst draughts?) but Full Moon conquers where Yellow Hook Grill, Killarney’s, and the AM Bar do not!

So I have passed by this place a million times and never step in. it looked like the local old man bar. Well things are changing i guess, noticed a younger crowd 20’s, 30’s instead of 60’s on last Thursday and Friday night. I stopped in and had a a drink. They had a DJ playing mix of dance, house an top 40 music. It was fun. I was walking home from my other local bar last nite and saw they have a huge Projection screen in the back of the bar and it had the game Eagles & Falcons game on it. Stopped in for a few drinks, the crowd was mixed but definitely in the late 20’s and early 30’s demo again. People were playing Beer Pong and Darts, i was told that they have Beer Pong tournaments every Wednesday nite some with chance to go to Las Vegas. Sounds Pretty cool. I will definitely checking out this place more often. I think this could be the place to watch football every Sunday night, I am going next week.
