I’d give this place ZERO stars if I could. The customer service here is absolutely deplorable and their overpriced scant collection sucks. Want to check in advance if a game is in stock? Don’t bother calling, because they NEVER pick up. I’ve been in the store with the cashier talking to customers about games and saw him ignoring incoming phone calls. The people who work here are very lazy and sarcastic, and the majority of them are a-holes. You will typically have to wait 10 – 15 minutes in line while standing behind a clueless soccer mom trying to buy games for her bratty kids. As for the prices, GameStop is a COMPLETE rip-off. They sell new games for $ 59.99 and then USED games for $ 56.99. WTF? A lot of times it’s cheaper to buy a new game on Amazon or a used game on eBay. GameStop makes its money by ripping off customers with it’s PowerUp Rewards program. It pays you pennies for your used games and devices then sells them for double the price(literally). If you’re looking for the best prices when it comes to video games, you’re best off using eBay or Amazon. Period.

I visit a Gamestop maybe once a year, sometimes less, and every time I come here I remember why I don’t shop here. It’s not necessarily the lazy service or the terrible selection, it’s their annoying«Power Rewards» program that’s a huge scam, and I am always bombarded with reasons to join it. Even if I insist on saying no, since I don’t play many video games, they insist on giving me their spiel. Just save your breath, shut up and take my money! I ended up here because I found out they had one of my favorite games, Metal Gear Solid 2, for the PlayStation 2. Instead of waiting a week for shipping, I made the trek two blocks to this store and found out they had it. And for the low price of 7.99. The guy who helped me was nice enough, again until he spun off on his spiel about the program. I immediately said no, since I was already a part of the free program and wanted to pay, and he had the gall to say«Just listen to me, pal, then say your opinion». I told him I know what it’s about, and that I’m not interested, and he started playing twenty questions about it. Asking me what exactly it’s about, and wouldn’t let me buy my damn game until I told him. He eventually let up, but it still irritated me. So yeah… I made my annual trip to LameStop. Maybe by this time next year they’ll have PlayStation 2 games cheap enough for it to be worth the hassle.

This GameStop is ghetto just like the area it’s in. The staff are rude and the store is always crowded with teenagers who linger around with no real intention to buy anything. The used game selection is anorexic and finding original cases for the game you want is like finding a unicorn with a gold horn. Yeah, that rare. The discs are badly scratched and even the fake cases are terribly damaged and broken. They never have what I am looking for and like every other GameStop, finding a new copy of something that has NOT been gutted is nearly impossible. The Powerup Rewards program is actually worth doing only if you buy and trade in games often otherwise you won’t miss out on anything if you skip it. Sadly the condition of this store resembles the people who frequent here and the condition of the rest of the neighborhood. I wish it was different.

The location is convenient if you live in the area but parking is literally impossible so I suggest you take train or bus and save yourself the headache. The selection in the store needs an upgrade and they never seem to have the latest games in stock… but they can sure tell you about it because they always seem to own it already. Great for them but what about the customers. The staff(all dudes which is kinda weird) are usually busy chatting up a game(not in inventory) instead of selling what they do have to those who want it. I’ve gotten attitude once and it was because the cahier didnt want to admit he messed up. Black Ops was coming out and I paid a $ 20 deposit but the cahier messed up and put it towards another game so when time came for me to get the game it was sold out and I was told, «sir you asked to put a deposit on spider man not Black Ops… i don’t make mistakes.» That was it… i called corporate and not only got my deposit back but they also mailed me Black Ops for free. This is the only reason this location received three stars.

This Gamestop location is okay. The counter guys(never seen a girl working there) tend to be more knowledgeable about games, systems, gaming news, etc. than at other Gamestops. I appreciate that, but the wait can be long even to talk to them(no floater staff on the sales floor), the selection isn’t great, the neighborhood is highly congested and parking is difficult. Overall, it’s not my pick of Gamestops when there are much easier locations.

I came in at about 10:30 am after a class, this early hour could have explained the lack of energy and customer service. I ask for a certain game and she points. i get my game and head to the counter as some guy and his little boy walks in. The coma is lifted, and she fallows the dude around. answering every dumb question he had. About 5mins later, she walks over and rings me up, then demands that i remove my coffee from the counter. WTF? This place is cool if you have a penis, Girls are gamers too Gamestop!
