Super cute low key bar — good selection of different spirits and beers. Friendly staff and good playlist. Either a local scene or good stop by for a BK visitor.

Clientele is changing. Suits and Conde Nasties taking over from the music crew (on a weekday evening to be fair). I’ll say no more, other than to quote a review below «Wanting to go somewhere new for happy hour, the beau». Honey, this is Unilocal,not Great Gatsby book club night, not to mention– doesn’t the Post’s Page 6 have the trademark on that word? or are you actually Beau Bridges’ wife? Owners are still cool as are the bar tenders to be fair and that counts for 75% of a bar’s success.

I liked this bar! I feel like if I lived in Brooklyn I would stop here frequently for beers. I was in Brooklyn for work and had some time to kill. I didn’t have any food here but I went for a beer at the end of happy hour (which ends at at 8PM woo hoo!). It was $ 1 off all drafts so I appreciated that. The service was friendly and someone bought me a shot! They also played some great music. Prices were reasonable! I’d come back.

Awesome bar! the wood bar is class. Great vibe, great beer selection, friendly bartenders, a def must go to when your in Gowanus… Also they have a cool backyard area on the warmer days.

I’m ashamed to see how long this bar has been open, as I only just stumbled upon it this past Friday. Wanting to go somewhere new for happy hour, the beau mentioned this «new» bar (apparently we are both incredibly unobservant), so we headed over to check it out. It was fairly busy with what looked like a couple of big groups, but the bartenders handled the crowd with aplomb.
Good beer selection, average prices for the neighborhood. Happy hour goes until 8PM which is lovely; at $ 1 drafts every little bit helps. It’s a great addition to the burgeoning businesses of 3rd Ave. While it took me way too long to make my first trip, the second one will come much more quickly.

Sweet patio, very relaxed atmosphere. They make great cocktails and I’m always surprised by how low my tab is when I leave. They need some kind of snacks though. Even just nuts or pretzels.

Love this place! Great, reasonably priced beers, chill atmosphere, amazing music. Patio is extremely cute. Anthony has done a remarkable job with this place. Highly recommend going here for a great night out. You can actually hear each other’s conversations and not scream over the music. The peaksill sour was really great! Only $ 6. Go here!

Found this place by accident the night that it opened! Tom and Anthony are fantastic, knowledgable hosts who have created a great vibe to complement the neighborhood. Some nice wine choices, friendly bartenders who know how to make excellent Martinis and Manhattans (among other cocktails) and an amazing play list every time we’ve been there!

Great space and just the kind of bar this neighborhood needs. Low key, good vibes. I’ll only be ordering beer/​wine, however, because the whiskey pours were super light for $ 10.

My friend lives in the slope and I’m never down there, so it was a real treat to come down there and make some time for a cocktail or two at Givers & Takers.
Just a super chill vibe all around. If you can swing it, hit up the backyard. Well done and detailed beautiful with the hanging lights and candles.
Our bartender was clearly far more than a bartender — a true mixologist. He whipped up a delicious tequila cocktail for my girlfriend with just a couple of suggested ingredients. It was on point! I had a vodka martini, up with a twist, and enjoyed every moment down to the last sip.
They’ve got a strong draft selection and a good wine list to boot. If you get there early enough on a weekend it’s going to be a solid experience, you can put money on that. I look forward to a return, thirsty for more!

This is a nice little neighborhood spot that just opened. It’s certainly not a destination hotspot but that is what I like about it. It is a bit of a hole in the wall with little backyard but is clean and brand new with a bit of the pseudo brooklyn look without trying too hard.
Staff is super nice and just a good place if you want to have a few beers with friends without having to fight for a bar seat or shout.
They were super accommodating when we decided to throw an office happy hour there and let us bring in food and take over a few tables.
They have a $ 1 off beers happy hour (plus discount cocktails) which is a bit skimpy for the area since beer prices are a bit above average ($ 7 – 8). By comparison Lavender Lake has $ 4 happy hour drafts
Canal bar knocks a few bucks off lee draft, but I won’t complain (I am sure being new their rent is not cheap).
It’s nice to have another option in the hood that is chill.

Great neighborhood addition. Stopped in with the plan of having one (or two) drinks– ended up staying for almost 3 hours. Great drinks selections and pours from Tom the bartender. Great music and to strike up random conversations with the folks at the bar. Such a great time we almost missing dinner at Littleneck!
