Like any other Golden Krust… it’s Caribbean flavors on the go… with pretty decent customer service.

The food is good. I go there occasionally for the oxtail. It was always on pt until I had it yesterday. Didn’t really taste as good as usual, but it was ok. A large oxtail is 15 bucks… For that I’m expecting more meat but like other spots they pile on the rice. I always end up throwing away rice. Smh O and parking sucks!

The oxtail in this place makes you wanna slap your mama, lol! I love it. The mac & cheese can use a face lift tho. at times it can be a bit bland. Nonetheless, I’d recommend this restaurant for a bite to eat!

Ordered curry goat with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. It was pricey, at about $ 9.25. They gave a lot of rice but not as much goat. That’s a rip off. I’d prefer more goat although the food was good.

Ok, it’s not a Juici Patties(in JA) but it’s way better than Christie’s Jamaican Patties in my own opinion. I have yet to find a Jamaican Patty place that can top Juici Patties in Jamaica cuz… Duh that shit is in Jamaica. Whenever I get a patty craving(all the flavors are good!) I come here and get a bottle of Pink Grapefruit Ting to go. Hits the spot.

This particular Golden Krust has a special place in my heart because they are never out of my favorite items. They take the time to make their customers happy. The restaurant is always clean. I have never seen a critter running around there. Ever. I get cinnamon sticks in my porridge to enhance it’s flavor. The jerk chicken in the summer more than likely will be grilled outside(another way to draw in potential customers). Their oxtail… well I know why people are trying to con them in to giving more oxtail. Tender, falling off the bone, the seasoning is not overpowering… delicious. Courteous service at all times, even the owner works the counter if they are shorthanded on the day. That has always been a plus for me when management takes their time, helps with the upkeep of the store and will come from the back of the house to talk to their patrons. It makes me feel like I’m wanted here. Then we have the juice. That Ginger Punch… need to have it! Peanut Punch, Sea Moss, and other drinks, unless I’m mistaken are ALL made on the premises. When summer time comes round, you’re going to want to have some for the road. Speaking of summer… Their Ice Cream selection is amazing. Rum Raisin, Sour Sop, Grapenut, and other s are delicious. By the smaller samples to taste it, I guarantee you’ll want the pints and quarts. Lastly, This Particular Golden Krust does Customer Appreciation celebrations. Giving back to the people who give so much to you. I’m sold on this place. Any time I’m in bk, this will be my go to GK.

Jerk sauce. Get it. A lot of it. All over. Your chicken. Fried plantains. Always get extra. Be prepared to go home and cook them for 20 more minutes because they were not that ripe. ALSO the fried chicken looked AMAZE-BALLS but we totes didn’t get it because we were so sold on the jerk sauce. Gravy(of the chicken variety). Get a lot of it. All over the rice(with beans). The skin on the chicken is SO crunchy and SO flavorful you. will want. to die. It rAwKz.

3.5 stars: right between A-OK and«Yay I’m a fan». I’ve been to this location several times since a friend with a weakness for butter bread told me that in addition to their expected Jamaican patties, they also have entirely serviceable, and huge, platters of oxtail, goat curry, chicken curry and jerk chicken. For $ 7.95 for a «small» combo, you get a huge overstuffed container of your choice of one of these options, with a side of peppery stewed cabbage, rice and peas(or plain rice, your choice), and two slices of plantain. One container made two ample meals for me. Their patties are also decent; I’ve tried the chicken, beef and soya patties. The soya patties were a little disappointing; for a decent vegan selection, I would recommend Scoops, just two blocks down the road. The beef patty was sufficiently spicy and adequately stuffed. In addition to their food, they also offer a decent selection of soft drinks, including Jamaican ginger beer(spicy and sweet), and two versions of Ting. The«B» health inspection rating was a little worrying; if they manage to upgrade it to an A, I might upgrade my rating.
