Golden Krust is my only experience with Caribbean food so I can’t compare, but I do like it here. Their excellent jerk is very spicy but just shy of overwhelming, and nicely balanced with sweetness. Curry is also good if not as interesting as Indian curries. Goat here is surprisingly edible: mostly meat and very tender. Rotis, new to me, have a good texture with the ground chickpeas in between layers, and are great soaked with the curry sauce. I don’t know how they eat it as street food, though; I need a knife and fork. Red bean soup is very tasty but the dumplings(spinners?) are tough(are they supposed to be that way?). I’ve had better fried plantains in Latin places. Everything in huge portions at reasonable prices. NB: this place is not for anyone on a low salt diet.

My experience here was one that I can’t complain about. A genuinely friendly elderly lady serving the food, was having conversation with two other customers and I while she was standing at the cash register. She also served quickly. The place looks relatively new and clean. The soup I bought(red peas) was just average. Nothing at this Golden Krust location turned me off so if need be, I’ll be a returning customer. 4 stars for customer service.

Terrible service. The people running this place do no understand the concept of running a business. They only ever have 2 patties of each kind in the store and if you want more than that, you can’t call ahead because they’re worried you won’t show up to pick it up and they«can’t sell it», as explained to me by the woman on the phone. So if you want 3 patties, apparently the procedure is to go and leave a down payment, wait for them to make it, and then come back to pick it up. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

This place is very friendly and laid-back put in one. They have many food options, that makes a better than any food in the area. I’m not big on eating Nathan’s, because I want to eat real food. If you are looking for some good curry chicken, rice & peas, then visit this place. Why 4 stars? They do not have a credit card machine, when I know many stores do. Once they fix that issue, then I will rate it 5 stars.

I am the biggest fan of jamacia patties, whenever i go to a pizza place in Brooklyn i try to get one because they remind me of junior high when they served them on Wednesdays! I went here and loved the basic beef patty, moist meat, soft crust inside and crunchy outside! Patty heaven for me!

Okay… so I am working on Coney Island this summer as a Circus Outreach coordinator to boycott Ringling Bros. Circus and I was looking for a good place to get a Vegan meal. Golden Krust has catered to my coworker and I and given us great deals on totally Vegan spinach wraps. Of course, I would love it if it were ALL Vegan food, but you take what you can get locally. I really love the spinach wrap because it is all Vegan and is spicy, Caribbean style. I also like to support local businesses while I am working in Brooklyn, rather than stupid corporations!!!
