What a waste of my money and time!!! I have only been here a few times and have decided this place is only getting worse! I walked in at 7:15 pm for a manicure and whom seems to be the owner does not even make eye contact because she’s too busy on her laptop. The man who did my manicure I’ve noticed only does massages(based from previous times I’ve been there) needles to say he did a horrendous job. I asked specifically for my nails to be squoval(square with the round ends) and he completely jacked up my nails and tried to do oval !! Gross. Then the manicure itself was painful the way he squeezed my fingers while he «tried» to paint my nails. Long story short — TERRRIBLEEJOBBBB — Will upload image. Be aware!!!

I’ve been here dozens and dozens of times over the past 8 years to have my nails done, but I just can’t bring myself to go anymore. Regardless of how convenient the location is for me or how quick they can do a mani, I can’t continue to support a business that is dingy, dirty and has poor service. I totally appreciate that they’re managing to hang on and stay open in a neighborhood that is rapidly expanding and forcing so many places out of business, but at the same time… I can’t believe they haven’t gone out of business yet! The lighting is gross, the pedicure baths are never clean, even when it’s 90 degrees outside they don’t have AC or any air ventilation in the salon whatsoever and to top it all off… they really aren’t that cheap!!! Every time I go, I’m the only person in the salon. In regards to service, there is a man who works there who doesn’t seem to have any idea what he’s doing and has screwed up my nails twice. There is also a woman, who I’m pretty sure works there, but is never helping customers, who literally just sits there and belches over and over and over again. I’m serious! I’ve encountered her multiple times as she sits there and burps again and again without ever covering her mouth or ever saying excuse me. She may very well have some kind of condition or digestive issue, but it’s absolutely disgusting and completely repulsive to customers… and should be to anyone who hears it, but somehow the other people who work there never acknowledge it. When you’re the only client in the place, her repetitive burping is deafening! Enough is enough, I’m never going back.

I used to go to this salon fairly consistently and it was fine. But I recently had the worst salon experience I’ve had in New York. I should have known to walk away when I was the only customer there. I went in asking for a pedicure and a gel manicure. The man who assisted me seemed to have no familiarity with the tools he was using or how to give a pedicure. The water was freezing cold and he repeatedly poked me with tools until my feet were bleeding and I begged him to stop. The paint job was sloppy. Then we moved on to the manicure. After I waited several minutes for him to apply foils to remove the gel on my nails he sawed them down until they are almost nonexistent. I was bleeding from where he cut my cuticles. I decided to walk away before he did anymore so didn’t get my nails painted. My total before tip was $ 41 — not cheap for a pedicure and no manicure.

I really love this salon. I have frequented other nail salons in the neighborhood but now go exclusively to Grand Relax. I always get a great manicure and pedicure, their prices are more reasonable than those of others nearby, and I don’t have to make an appointment to be able to get in.(This is important because with a busy schedule I’m not always able to commit to an appointment!) Everyone that works here is very friendly and the environment is quiet and relaxing. I also think that the complimentary shoulder and back massage at the end of their manicure or pedicure is a small gesture but a great added bonus… it shows great hospitality. I will continue to get my nails done here for the rest of the time I reside in New York!

Just got mani and pedi at that place and I’m not all that impressed. It’s little more expensive($ 33) than down the street places that charge $ 14-$ 17 for a combo so I was hoping for a better job. Unfortunately the painting skills of my person were pretty mediocre. I’m looking at my cuticles hanging on the sides and crooked lines by the nail beds.

I think this place is great! I avoided trying it out because of the reviews– but in a desperate need for a manicure and pedicure, I popped in and I’m so glad I did! They give you a great, clean pedicure with a real massage… Not simply a lotion application. Love it!

My first time here was the absolute best spa experience ever– that was 4 years ago. I’ve had massages here and there in between and I came back on Valentine’s Day for a a massage expecting my experience to be even better. It was awkward and nothing like what I wanted. I was late for my appointment– granted it started snowing which made it difficult to find parking. Anyhow– when I walked in they were happy to have me. They talked among themselves to see who would do my table massage and they finally settled so I was asked to go to the back room and get ready. After getting undressed is when I realized I had a male masseuse. Now although I’d have no problem with a male masseuse– I’d appreciate if it has been disclosed to me prior to getting into the room. That’s just what I’m used to– but it didn’t happen that way. Moving on– he asked what type of massage them quickly answered for me by saying Deep Tissue. I said no– I want Swedish massage. He then said ohh ok like a mix. Again I said no– Swedish massage. Throughout the massage it seemed like he was trying to give me deep tissue anyway and I kept having to interrupt him and make sure he remembered I wanted a SWEDISH massage. Overall he kept a good attitude and remained profesh so I tipped him. But of course then next day I felt like someone was jumping all over my back. If I go back I’ll just make sure to ask for a person who understands the Swedish massage techniques. In the interim I’ll be looking for other day spas.

I’m a regular for pedicures and the occasional massage, and appreciate their friendly, consistent service. Not a fancy spa, but a good value and pleasant experience. Their pedicures last for weeks, and the massage therapists are talented and open to feedback on how deep or gentle you would like it to be. I went in with a knot in my shoulder the other day and walked out completely patched up.

I paid $ 40 for my face to have product literally slapped onto it, scraped clean with a cheap hand towel and pat dried with a Kleenex. Despite their use of reputable products, this establishment has no experience or qualifications with facial treatments.

This is one of my go to nail salons in Williamsburg. Mae and Katie always do such a good job on my mani, pedi and even massages. I been going since it opened and I never complain about them.

Worst manicure of my life here. These people clearly have no professional training.

YOUWILLGETSTIFFED!!! DONOTGOTOTHISESTABLISHMENT! The first time I came here I was told there was a minimum of $ 15 dollar credit card charge. My transaction was $ 12 and I said to the woman to add the tip to the card so it would add up to $ 15. She yelled at me and said that I needed to tip cash. There were no signs anywhere of this and I ended up convincing her. The second time around, I came to get a pedicure for $ 22 dollars and tipped 4 dollars. My statement showed $ 37.85 and I was in shock. This business is literally getting away with fraud and finding financial gain off their customers with a scam!!! If you end up going here, keep your receipt because they will change the transaction amount and get away with it!

3.5 stars. I think this place is a little hit-or-miss. I just got my first bikini wax here and it was thorough, not painful, and over in about three minutes. I have incredibly sensitive skin and one day later my skin is not irritated. I also got a mani-pedi. My nails look nice, but my one complaint is that the lady cut the HELL out of my cuticles. Like, too low. Like I have a line of raw/slightly bloody skin around the base of two of my nails. That part of a manicure is always really painful for me so I didn’t notice that she was cutting too much off otherwise I would have asked her to stop. Beyond that she was nice and gave me a nicer paint job than most other places ever have. My friend got a mani pedi and was unhappy with how her nails were filed despite the fact that she asked repeatedly for them to be filed square. It was $ 45 for a mani-pedi and a bikini wax. There is no tax if you pay in cash. If you’re super picky about your nails, maybe don’t come here. But if you want to sit in a pretty nail salon with nice massaging chairs and a relaxing atmosphere(and you can keep an eye on your cuticles), I’d recommend it.

I think this place is PROBABLY above average for a simple MANIPEDI, but if you ACTUALLY want a spa-which is SAYS it is, then go elsewhere to a full-time, fully functioning spa. They have all the trappings of a SPA and offer some cool spa packages, but it was really run/organized pretty horribly. My friend and I went in and got mani/facial /spa packages with massage and steam room included, etc. 1. BAD: the massage rooms were ICY cold-not releaxing… very bad. 2. The steam ROOM: despite my telling the gal I planned to use it after, she didn’t TURN it on until i was in it. RESULT: again, ICY cold… not relaxing. it never did GETWARM enough or steamy enough. it went on and off and was generally WORSE than no steam room at all. I left feeling like I barely got relaxed at all. The massage itself was OK.

I used to come here regularly and was happy with their service until about a year ago. While trimming my cuticles on a regular pedicure, the woman pulled off a piece of live cuticle from my big toe. She was obviously shocked, because though it started to bleed immediately and I was screaming, she continued to pull until all the cuticle on one side of my big toe was ripped off. The bleeding stopped quickly enough, and it was just like a bad toe hangnail, not that serious, so we finished the pedicure. At the time, it seemed that maybe it would heal easily. Unfortunately, the next day my toe was inflamed and painful. It was too much to try to slip my foot into a shoe. Very quickly, all the pretty parts of a toe infection set in. My doctor put me on a round of antibiotics. I called Grand Relax to let them know what happened and just get a refund for my pedicure and the round of medicine covered. I figured accidents like this happen, they would appreciate to know about it, and would compensate me. Yeah, that was naïve. They dodged my calls for 3 days, claiming a manager was never in. I finally went down there in person. After a mean, nasty and LOUD reaction from the store owner(that probably scared the customers), she angrily refunded my money and covered my med expense. Had the situation been handled any better, I would still be fine with Grand Relax Spa… But they don’t get a cent more of my money and I haven’t been back since!

I have been there a few times and their manis and pedis are not good. They don’t last and they are done in a hurry. A friend of mine recently went and she got her eyebrows done and she almost lost one, do NOT get your eyebrows done here. Every time I went I got the girl with the rubber gloves, I dont like that at all, such a weird feeling to get your toes done that way. I also think is overpriced.

Whenever Im in Brooklyn I get my nails and massages over here. It’s no frills but I like it here cause the ladies know what they are doing and it’s really chilled here. I like getting my nails done by Jojo, she’s great. She is the only person fluent in English. She is detail oriented and super friendly. She gives awesome massages as well. They have tanning, steam and sauna as well. The tanning is stand up and gives you real good even tan.
