I live in the area and am happy to have this respite where I can go to study and have a good cup of coffee. It’s filled with young people, families, and the young at heart. I go there sometimes to study. It can get a little noisy in their because it does have a play pen area for the kids, but it’s kids being kids and gives their parents a place where they can have fun, too. I’ve had their lattes which are great and they have an array of sweetener option, including simple syrup! And I’ll go back just for the chive cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich, but one time they had run out of the biscuits so I went for the bagel and lox platter. It was sooo good and filling. My friend and I literally went up to the clerk and asked where they get their salmon. Filling tasty, and not fishy. Cannot be, but it is. I’ll definitely go back again and again. I’m grateful for Gratitude.

Warm and unpretentious place with a really nice neighborhood/kid-friendly vibe. Cute little play area for kids and lots of tables. I got the veggie avocado sandwich on a baguette($ 7.50 before tax). It was fantastic. Really chewy, fresh baguette and lots of veggies with hummus, avocado, and delicious goat cheese. It comes with a side of potato chips and is plenty to share between two people. They’ll let you create your own sandwich too which is great. I later went back for an iced coffee and I wasn’t quite as impressed — pretty strong but also pretty pricey($ 4). It’s a really nice location considering there’s not too much else around, and it’s on a mostly residential corner near Prospect Park. It made me want to move to the neighborhood!

I love this place. I come here all the time for coffee and I’m never disappointed. I’ve also come here to work, and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend!

Fresh food! Perfect little café for a quick bite, coffee, and chatting. I had a turkey club, and it came w chips. I found the chips overly salted.

My sincere congrats to business owners ! Such a cosy, cute, welcoming place they have. We were desperate to find a place to have breakfast last Sunday and had already checked 2 places out and we got here seeing a long line again:(All tables were occupied and people were ordering to go. Seeing the menu and choices on people’s tables kept us on line. There is no hostess so if you are willing to stay, keep someone in your company to look for an available table until you order. Biggest table is good for 4 so not good for groups. We got lucky to get a table for 4 until our food is ready. If hungry for real, get some scones or cheese biscuits in advance, they are so tasty! Just like our grandma used to bake. Coffee mugs are huge and feels home. I have tried the turkey/avocado sandwich, OMG, so fresh, filling and tasty! Potato chips on the side are so good too. Turkey Club is also good with bacon but I loved mine the most. Except the food, their signature juices are so popular which I have not tried yet but saw many people having them. So beware! :) They have like 4 benches outside so if not inside, you may seat there. There is a corner for kids and kids menu, that is really nice of them to care for families with kids, they could just place 2 more tables there but they did not. One more important thing caught my eye, they love cats! :) I love cats so I love Gratitude Café :)

They have really sped up their service. That was my biggest gripe. Place has become really popular as well not surprising because they are super welcoming and the food is super fresh. Try their apple turnovers or turkey avocado sandwich sooo good!

I’m always exploring coffee shops in the area — i decided to try this place out — Well…it has this retro vibe inside with the used 1970s furniture — I like it though — the staff is very friendly too — all smiles But the small sandwich I bought was 5.50. I got a egg/cheese on chive biscuit which was smaller than the palm of my hand. It was tasty though but not 5 dollars good. The latte is priced right at 3 and change but it was not strong — I like a latte to kick me in the face but this was just an overpriced cup of coffee. I’m not hating — it has a lot going for it but they need to reconsider their choices.

LIke the food and speedy wi-fi. But did anyone mention about the screaming kids around in the coffee shop? This might explain the noise level from another reviewer.

Delicious coffee. Super kind and generous owners. I also wanted express my sincere gratitude to Gratitude for donating delicious sandwiches/pastries/coffee to PLG Neighborhood Forum for street safety in PLG. I live in the neighborhood and this place always makes me happy and always full of locals. High time I sent out a little positive praise!

Even though its incredibly pricey, I really love the mozzarella sandwiches(with or without prosciutto). The coffee is OK, but the noise level and lack of seating really have made me lose interest.

What a great neighborhood spot. It’s got a warm, cozy environment and a simple no-frills sandwich menu. Chill music plays on the speakers as little kids play with the blocks reserved for them in the kiddie corner. Smoothies are good, service is always friendly, and the owners live nearby and care about the neighborhood. I especially appreciate them keeping gluten free bread on hand, which opens up options for wheat averse foodies.

There are few things in life that make us feel so zen, like coming to Gratitude coffee. It’s everything in here that makes you happy. The organic smoothies are so delicious. Give it a try.

Gratitude Café is an amazing little slice of heaven, and a very special place. These folks know how to care for their customers, it’s very much like entering a small town café; where everyone knows your name and you just feel warm and cozy from the moment you walk in the doors. It sort of reminds me of some cafes I’ve been to in Buffalo and Burlington, Vermont. You may forget you’re even in Brooklyn especially since Prospect Lefferts is one of the most«neighborly» feeling areas in Brooklyn. They seem to put great focus on sourcing their ingredients organically and locally, which is admirable considering their prices are not through the roof. Their bacon egg and cheddar croissant is one of the best egg sandwiches I’ve ever had, and it’s refreshing to see a place cook eggs perfectly without even having to make a specific request(the egg came medium well both times that I ordered this sandwich) They also seem very kid friendly, and study friendly as well(some how those 2 usually wouldn’t go together, but they have a little play area which seems to keep the little ones quietly entertained) If 6 stars were possible, Gratitude would get it!

I’m full of gratitude for this café. It’s a nice friendly cheerful place to hang out with a cup of coffee. It’s very child-friendly and all the stay-at-home moms come here with their toddlers. There’s a small play area for the kids, where they happily play while their parents chat over a cup of joe. They also serve pastries and bagels for breakfast.

Leffert’s Garden really has such limited options at this point, and what exists already are pretty poor attempts at filling the voids. Gratitude Café is clearly leading the pack. It’s a husband and wife team that own it and primarily run it. They are incredible gracious and kind and you can tell they are really making an impact in the community. When they first opened it was a typical small business situation; there was only so much $$$ and lots of ideas. But literally since day one, they have continued to reinvest in the business and have grown incredibly well. Definitely recommend.(and everyone else in the area should take a few notes)
