Nice variety of bubble tea options… Young crowd usually. Not impressed with their phở. Meat tasted funny and phở soup very watered down. Chinese people making Vietnamese food. Had GI distress after eating… Quick run to my porcelain throne. However, my friend had a sandwich which he enjoyed.

so, it was the first banh mi status post a trip to vietnam. expectations were high. i could still remember the taste of authentic cuisine. i ordered the shredded chicken and… well… they ended up with 3 stars. it was good. it was fine. it filled me. but… it wasn’t like the banh mi hyunh hoa in saigon. it was also excessively stuffed which made it mighty messy to devour on the promenade. when i return(which i plan to do), i’ll opt for the regular banh mi for a true head to head hancos versus saigon street pork/pâté/miscellaneous meat banh mi.

The food is good, if you know to tell them no beef tendon in the beef phở. But CUSTOMERSERVICE is awful. I spent $ 42 on food, and they would not give me 1 extra tiny cup of dipping sauce for a double order of spring rolls. They wanted another .50 for it. I didn’t ask for a bunch of them, just one. Really sad that they can’t see what poor customer service will do, and from the looks of the reviews I’m not alone on this.

Another great place to grab a nice sandwich, salad or soup. Everything has always been fresh and the service quick. Plenty of seats. Typical style Vietnamese sandwiches. I love the pork and chicken.

This place has AWFUL customer service. Waited for more than 20 minutes for two bubble teas. People who ordered food long after me received their orders first. No acknowledgement of their mistake or even an apology.

I wanted something different for a change. The first time I ordered I was hopeful to trying Vietnamese cuisine and with it being fairly close to where I work, I figured I’d go a different route. I went with the chicken phở, summer roll and a passion fruit bubble tea. The chicken phở was good, not great. Their summer roll was subpar, but the accompanying peanut sauce was phenomenal(I needed it to better enjoy the roll)! Last, but certainly not least, the bubble tea was the perfect complement to my adequate meal. Definitely worth a try, and it wasn’t overly sweet. The food was overall refreshing and I didn’t feel guilty after eating, however it did lack some flavor.

Hanco’s is awesome. I love to frequent there. Love their rice dishes and phở although their bubble tea is slightly subpar. Ordered delivery from them through Eat24 and had a great experience.

Love the shredded chricken rice vermicelli salad! I ordered to go along with beef phở and it was quick. The beef phở was alright. The food is a bit overpriced in my opinion.

This is a neat little tri-level eatery that boasts a variety of sandwich options friendly to vegetarians. This was my first time trying a traditional bahn mi sandwich and I was impressed with the way the sandwich balanced the sweet-tangy flavor of the vegetables with the spicy sauce. We grabbed the Sriracha sauce preemptively, as neither my companion nor myself can enjoy something without a kick. Surprisingly, I didn’t need it, although we did order our sandwiches to be spicy. The least impressive part was the hoagie roll and the tofu and vegetarian chicken sandwiches were served warm, rather than hot. We also ordered bubble teas which were more expensive than I was used to, but I’m going to blame that on the overall price hikes in NYC rather than this individual venue. My hot thai tea was delicious although perhaps a bit too sweet(hence why it was delicious). The cold honeydew was refreshing and both came with a chock ton of tapioca bubbles. The place operates semi-fast food style. You enter and place your order at the counter and then pick it up there(if all you’re getting is bubble tea) or in the back. There is additional seating upstairs(with a skylight), and was not crowded on a Sunday evening.

The Vegetarian Pork Vietnamese sandwich is on point! Great flavors indeed! I do not recommend the Garden Rolls as they are only lettuce, vermicelli noodles, and cucumber. If they added carrots and cilantro(or even tofu) it would be worth the $ 4+ cost.

The only reason this place didn’t earn 5 stars from me is because of the customer service. Employees are very rude, and give off a really bad vibe; especially the girls in the front. Other than that, the food is amazing. Probably the best Phở I’ve ever tasted. I’m obsessed with the Shrimp Phở and Classic spicy sandwich. The Thai bubble tea is by far the best Thai bubble tea I’ve ever had!

Affordable food and good service. Loved the Thai Iced Tea! I got the classic sandwich with Tofu and had it made spicy. It was a bit too spicy for me, and I usually handle spicy foods fine. Overall, would definitely recommend it if you’re in the neighborhood and want to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. There’s plenty of comfortable seating and restrooms, a big plus.

Cheap, yummy and authentic bahn mi spot. It’s a small place, but they serve quite a variety of vietnamese food. It’s not just for bahn mi’s, they have phở and noodle dishes too — fast food style, but NOT fast food. They even have great bubble tea! I highly recommend getting the pork bahn mi and make it spicy. It’s not as spicy as you would expect so if you’re up for a little kick, go for it. And don’t forget to pair it up with a lychee bubble tea. There’s a lot of restaurants in the area, so it’s a great to-go place for lunch. I’ve had my share of good sandwiches and I can say this bahn mi was definitely memorable. I would come all the way from Bayside if I was craving one. So take advantage if you live in the area. I mean, they deliver too…

This place was very disappointing. I ordered their beef phở to-go and when I got home I noticed globs of fat and cartilage in my soup, I was so disgusted that I could not eat it any more. I called the restaurant and let them know and they told me to come back with the soup and they would give me a refund. I live a half a mile away so I bought back the fat and cartilage that I found in my soup and they were instantly dismissive and told me that it was tendons and that they always leave tendons in their soup. No where on their menu did it mention anything about tendons in their beef phở and I’ve had beef phở several times and never had tendons in my soup. Also, when I told the girl behind the counter that they should tell people about the tendons in the soup she rolled her eyes at me. I truly think that you can get better quality meat from the dollar menu at a fast food place. This is my first Unilocal review because I was that upset about the quality of the food and service that I received here.

They are fast at making their bubble tea. I got the coffee and it was a bit too sweet but I appreciated the full coffee taste. Service is nothing special. Prices are pretty good. Vietnamese is often the cheapest kind of food. The tofu banh mi I ordered was a bit too spicy because of the pepper things they put on, but was otherwise good. Standard stuff.

I give Hanco’s a middle-of-the-road score. It’s good, it’s different, but it’s just sloppy and it’s not top-notch Viet food. I got a spicy banh mi(here it’s just called«Vietnamese sandwich»), two rice paper rolls, and a passion fruit flavored bubble tea. The banh mi was made with good ingredients, fresh bread, nice pickled slaw, etc. But the jalapeños were thrown on so sloppily that most bites were not spicy at all, while some bites were INCREDIBLY spicy. Overall, pretty good though. The rice paper rolls were a huge disappointment. They were literally 3 ingredients: shrimp, lettuce, and vermicelli. No bean sprouts, no cilantro, no mint, no matchstick carrots or cucumber… not authentic, and not very flavorful. And at $ 5, they were overpriced too. The tea was very sweet, but refreshing and cold. I liked it. The cashier who took my order was rude and yell-y. I didn’t let that affect my score though. Come here if you’re really craving Vietnamese but there’s nowhere else to go. Any hole-in-the-wall Phở restaurant would do a better job, and without all the unnecessary«hipster Brooklyn» décor.

I came here for lunch with friends. Any Asian cuisine in the area is rare and this place was recommended as a decent place for Vietnamese. This spot is super cozy and seems to be quite popular. We got in around lunch time so it was packed, mostly for take out orders. We decided to stay and grabbed a table upstairs. I ordered a Thai iced tea and a salad with grilled pork. The Thai iced tea was sweeter than I’m used to and it kept me on a sugar high for the rest of the day. The salad was pretty good, fresh veggies and the the pork was grilled just right. A pretty satisfying meal and I was full well into dinner time. My friends ordered a Vietnamese chicken sandwich and phở. The bowl of phở was ginormous and it looked like it was pretty good. I was told that that chicken in the sandwich was a tad on the dry side. Overall, a decent option to satisfy a craving or grab a quick bite if you’re in the area!

Hanco’s sells bubble tea, Vietnamese sandwiches/banh mi, vermicelli noodle plates, and phở. They’re great for summer iced drinks and winter hot teas and soups. Their sandwiches are amazing. And Hanco’s has two or three locations, so hopefully there is one by you! I am a big fan of their grilled pork sandwich. It has a big helping of tender, marinated pork slices, some spicy mayo dressing, and a large handful of sweet pickled carrot and radish. Cilantro and jalapenos garnish the top if you ask for spicy. Its about 6 – 7 inches long on a hero somewhere between a baguette and a hero. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, and will not scratch up the roof of your mouth. I also love their phở. Teas and coffees are also tasty and all of their bubbles are cooked with sugar or honey — they’re treats in and of themselves! Service is usually very fast. Your order at the counter. Then you pick up your drink if you ordered one. Then you pick up your food all the way at the end. There is seating in the front and in the rear up some stairs that have some nice backyard lighting. Counter people tend to speak Cantonese at both Hanco’s locations I’ve visted. Usually a 5 – 7 minute wait for my fresh sandwich. Prices are great and the meals are a good value. A sandwich is the perfect size for a lunch. Add a bubble tea and I’m very full. Both items should come out to $ 11, but you can easily get just a sandwich for under $ 10. Ambiance tends to be a little dark, with most surfaces covered in a dark wood. Tables are cleaned periodically, but during high lunch rush, you might have to deal with some messes on your own. Everything is super casual, designed for quick meal enjoyment.

This has become my new go-to delivery option at the office. So far, I’ve had the summer rolls(killer), the fried spring rolls(super, duper, killer), the pork over rice dish(yum) and the banh mi sandwich(what dreams are made of). The key to faster delivery is to put in the seamless order before noon. Hanco’s makes me happy. I am in love. Thank you for being a dependable delivery service to the Dumbo area.

Came here after my Pilates class for the originally bubble tea, and I was unimpressed. I had the milk tea unsweetened, and it was just average. The tapioca was stale and tasted like they have been sitting there for too long. This is the first bubble tea place I found in Brooklyn Heights, if I can’t find more, I had to come back here again…
