This place is fantastic. It beats the other 10 spots in its radius including mitoushi masakari and chikurin. Me and my girlfriend love getting the wasabi cracker appetizer and the spicy tuna salad. The food is always fresh and exceptionally priced.

Best sushi in sheepshead bay! Been coming here for 6+ years and the food is always fresh and always tasty! Would recommend to all! Order the ‘Summer’ and ‘Black Ninja’ appetizers! Its not on the menu so just ask for them! Also the rock shrimp is on point! If you come here for long enough you get sake on the house… enjoy!

We once picked up from here and dined in today on mother’s day. Both experience were quite satisfying. My brother usually gets irritated by the common smell of the sushi places, especially if you are sushi newbie like him, it bothers more. But this place should have a really good ventilation system that you do not feel it. Since it is mother day, place has been decorated with balloons. We thought there was a party but there were not and we were lucky to get one of few available tables. They offered green tea to start, then took our order. We got California, Boston, Chicken Tempura and Shrimp Tempura from the classics, and wanted to try a signature one, picked Green Lawn. 8 pieces were $ 15, we only managed to eat 5, it was not for our taste maybe so I only do not recommend that type, rest was good, especially the chicken tempura. Fried ice-cream is a must, my favorite is red bean. That was nice too. $ 35 is a really good price for 2 people. Would recommend and come back. Minimum for credit card is $ 10.

The food is absolutely amazing, the reason for the three stars is very simple; The wait staff has an attitude when you eat there, they need to teach them to smile. Getting through to them is absolutely impossible, they never pick up their phones at peak times, almost like they don’t want the business.

Small and on the pricier side, but a great environment. Workers were really nice and had no problem with our big table. I suggest calling on the weekends and asking for a reservation because of the limited space. Overall satisfied client!

I’ve eaten here once a long time ago and never tried it again. I walked by one day and decided to try it again. I ordered the food to go. I got a lunch special, three rolls for $ 8.00/$ 8.50.(Forgot, but it was reasonable, cheaper than if you were to get three rolls separately). I ordered two spicy salmon rolls and one spicy yellowtail roll. The lunch special comes with either a salad or soup, so I chose the salad(small piece of lettuce, thin strips of carrots, one cherry tomato and a small slice of cucumber). I also ordered the Kani salad. It was a rather quick wait. The Kani salad was not too good, compared to other places I’ve had Kani salads at. The one I got didn’t have enough mayo, it was practically Kani and cucumber. I thought maybe the sauce was on the bottom but nope, I finished it and saw no trace of mayo anywhere. The spicy salmon roll was ok(it’s a roll I get all the time at any sushi place), not the best I’ve had. I did like that there were chewable pieces of salmon in the spicy salmon rolls, unlike some places where it gets so smashed up, you don’t taste or eat any of the actual salmon. The spicy yellowtail roll, I don’t remember anything about it. The pieces were kind of small in size. They looked anorexic to me. If I’m desperate and in a hurry for some sushi, I would prob order from there again. But at the same time I could get better for cheaper if not same price, even closer to where I live. I’ll see if I want to try other things from this place, however I still give it a three stars because it was decent, not bad not horrible. *Please add some more mayo to the Kani salad!

Very good food and they stayed after closing hours to serve us. Pricing is a tad higher than other places, but the food was very good. Services were good. If your looking to eat sushi in Brooklyn, check this place out

My favorite sushi place in the neighborhood! When all my friends were going to sushi places, I told them about this place around the corner form my house and now everyone goes there! Fish is always fresh, service is fast, always can get a table, lots of appetizers to choose from and lots of specialty rolls which is my favorite part of a sushi place! This is a no frills, standard south Brooklyn, less expensive sushi place so perhaps you’ll get more interesting in park slope or Manhattan, but this is solid, good food. When you go for a really long time, they give you a VIP card which gives you 10% off most things on the menu which is so nice! Recommended appetizers: Rock shrimp Fantastic island! Ponzu sauce is so delicious Kyoto sea breeze Recommended specialty rolls: Pink lady Lady gaga Trip color Yum yum yum. I am hear at least once a week for excellent sushi always!

There are so many sushi restaurants in Brooklyn to choose from that it can actually be overwhelming. Hayashi had some decent sushi rolls and a great tasting Hibachi section. We will be ordering from them going forward via delivery and in house.

Excellent place to go for sushi. I have been to many sushi places before but I found this to be the best. I think they make it really right way. My friend who had been working for 2 years in one of the best sushi restaurants in the UAE has been to Hayashi with me and he said that the quality of their sushi is really good even in comparison to best sushi places in the world. I would definitely recommend this place. 5 stars.

Probably my favorite sushi joint in South Brooklyn. In all honesty, I wouldn’t have gone here if one of my best girl friends hadn’t had recommended it. The ambience isn’t as aesthetically pleasing, but the food makes up for it. I was introduced to the Rock Shrimp appetizer and since then, no Chikurin or Mitoushi has matched it. The Beef Nagamaki is also finger licking good. They have some awesome special rolls as well, loved the Magic Roll and Angry Lobster Roll! Another favorite of mine is their Ramune drink which is a strawberry flavored Japanese soda. As far as service goes, I never had any complaints. I was always greeted and sat right away and the food always came out fast. Highly recommend.

I’m pretty picky with sushi but this place definitely has my heart for a quick bite to eat. It’s located conveniently in Sheepshead Bay and delivers! Everytime I’ve ordered by order has been correct(even for delivery!!!), fresh, and tasty. I like that they also allow orders via the GrubHub app making it easy to get quick delivery on nights where I don’t really feel like cooking or going out. Definitely recommend for a quick, casual bite to eat.

Honestly I love this place. Best sushi in the sheepshead Bay Area. The quality is always yummy and consistent. The special rolls are a must try especially the bagel roll, hiyashi roll, and lobster roll. The rock shrimp is my fav here. I will never stop coming here!

I went here for my graduation and it was great! The chef cooks right in front of you & does the cutest tricks with the oil and eggs. He made the oil into smiley faces and wrote with it, all of the ages in my family enjoyed this meal. The food is really juicy, I had everything and I loved it all. The green tea cream was a good surprise, really fresh and new.

I have finally found my new local sushi spot! I’ve been on the hunt ever since my two(I won’t name any names. I’m not vindictive like that) reliable sushi sources became non-reliable when they left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally. So thanks to Unilocal and all of my lovely fellow Unilocalers, I found Hayashi. They have great lunch specials, like sushi sets, or sushi rolls — which range from $ 8-$ 10. If you’re one of those non-raw fish eaters, they have plenty of options for you too, such as teriyaki, tempura, and hibachi. Can’t wait to come back whenever my next sushi craving hits(which is pretty often)!

I ordered for delivery… during lunch time on a weekday. The order came within the 30 mins that was promised. The doorbell ringing scared me to death! I ordered the chicken teriyaki special… it came with rice and miso soup on the side. Not a big fan. I don’t even have high standards for chicken… if the sauce is good, then great. But this sauce tasted so bland that I couldn’t even finish the order even though I was starving. The rice was good though, perfect texture. There’s not I can say but I would like to try the sushi… in pictures, it looks beautiful!
