I ordered the chicken chow mein combo. Order came fast, but the dish should be re-named lettuce, chicken, and onion salad. Super slimy and not a single noodle in sight. I had to look up chow mein to make sure I wasn’t so drunk that I mistook it for something else? Nope, I didn’t. Very, very disappointing. Don’t call it chow mein with no gosh darned noodles in the dish.

I’ve only ever ordered delivery from here so I don’t know what the restaurant itself is like, however I was a little disappointed in the food quality. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I ordered fried seafood dumplings and hot and sour soup… half the dumplings looked steamed or else undercooked and the soup, which I requested to be prepared extra spicy, wasn’t spicy at all.

Your standard American Chinese food place. I like coming here because the lady who takes the orders is very friendly. The food is pretty standard compared to all other Chinese places… nothing that really sets it apart. Good simple food at good prices. Try the chicken sticks… they’re really good

New customer here. My meals from this place have been good so far; but then again I haven’t ordered anything fancy where I can really size up their competence. I have observed that prices are slightly lower than elsewhere in the neighborhood. I will say that I appreciate this, too: out of all the generic Chinese places up-and-down these blocks, Xing Wong is one of the few places which is clean and pleasant-enough looking that you might actually care to sit down and eat. This is saying a lot in Bay Ridge. The furnishings are nice, although garish as usual in that strange Chinese way. Loud colors and eye-numbing patterns. Still, the booths are huge, comfy, and padded,(not even a single rip or tear in the vinyl). Seats, surfaces and floors are clean, sturdy, and professional… unlike so many other joints which can only boast a few crummy wobbly tables and splintery chairs. Huge fishbowl of beautiful quoi on the counter! And a very cute young Chinese girl takes your order. Cheerful and bubbly. Fluent in English. All in all, this place has merit. I look forward to ordering larger entrees here in future.

Very fast delivery. I ordered from GrubHub, and it arrived sooner than estimated. But the delivery guy was smoking a cigarette when I came to the door to receive it. I ordered Lemon Chicken. The chicken looks fully cooked, but the batter, which is deceptively golden brown on the outside, is mushy/uncooked beneath that crisp-looking outer coat. :(I’m scraping it off and just nibbling on the meat. Disappointing.

Greasy and salty pork dish. Tried to complain, but they said they didn’t speak English.

Are you kidding me the delivery guy completely ruined the order by holding my food saying… no tip when I signed the receipt. I’ve never ordered from this place and I don’t tip unless its my regular and I know they have good food delivery and service. Welp never ordering from this place again… learn some damn tact. seriously

Delivery was fast, however food was not good. I ordered one of their appetizer specials, and everything was just bland and stale. The crab rangoon was not good at all, neither was the egg roll. The only thing that was decent was maybe the boneless ribs and the wings, but how can you really mess those up? Price is cheap, but don’t think it’s worth it(although I would give this slightly more than 2 stars, just not enough for 3). Don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again.

Wishing Unilocal had the option of half-stars, yet again… ’cause I’d give Xing Wong another half a star. It’s not gross; it’s not great. It’s OK, if you want quick Chinese food. It’s not exceptional, however, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. We ended up here ’cause it was pretty late, and they’re open till 11pm or so, unlike many of the places in the neighborhood. It’s mainly a takeout place, but it’s got a few tables, and some Chinese décor which left a… pink, plastic… impression. The menu is entirely standard, and the food was unmemorable… which is better than being memorably bad.

As you can see from my previous review, I LOVED this place(and was the first to review it!). In fact, I just ordered from here again tonight, and was really enjoying my food(and of course thinking«I’m totally gonna update my Unilocal review of Xing Wong and let the masses know that it’s still as good as ever!»), …until… the photo I uploaded above happened. A bug actually crawled out of my white rice, to the surface, and I almost vomited. Shortly thereafter, my fiancée pulled a hair out of his shrimp with cashews. What happened, Xing Wong?! Your food is super flavorful, some of the best tasting Chinese take out in Bay Ridge, but the bugs in the food, and hair in the food really has to go. I’m so bummed. This was my place!

I love ordering food from this place, the delivery is so fast, the food is always very good and the prices are great. I never sat at the restaurant and ate, but my children and I go there to pick up food, the person that is always there is a sweetheart, and always very friendly. Definitely my number place to order Chinese food from the neighborhood.

In one of my living the single girl life in NY moments I decided to spend a weekend night in and order Chinese food. I picked this place because it was close and accepted online orders from (because it’s always better for the ego to order an insane amount of food for yourself online than actually saying it outloud!). Turns out it was a good choice! I had the Kung pao(I got medium not knowing how spicy it would be, but definitely going for the spicy next time) chicken fried rice, white rice, won ton soup, and they threw in a lil surprise pudding dessert(yum!). All was delivered quickly and came hot(delivered by a little dude on a Vespa scooter with a cooler tied to it I might add). Overall good food, great single NY girl experience!
