Atmosphere: chill, comfortable, reclaimed wood without being pretentious. Food: almost everything is gluten-free, and the menu is labeled to indicate so. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well. The corn tortillas are made in house(1 per taco). The tacos are huge– I had to eat the delicious fish taco with a fork and knife because it was too much filling for the taco, but I’m not complaining. The nachos are ok, nothing special. Although it is topped with a giant scoop of guacamole. Love that the burritos can come«naked, without the wrap, but it would be better served over lettuce rather than just in a bowl. Didn’t know these are the owners of Kettle Black and The Lock Yard. I can’t wait to go back. The kicker– it’s so affordable– $ 15 for dinner and a beer.

I always like to try something new at Ho’Brah. Today, I decided to get the Misson Bay burrito(naked, AKA in a bowl without tortilla.) It’s a vegetarian burrito but I am a big meat eater so I got it with bohemian chicken($ 3 extra). It was delicious! Flavor lurked in every corner of the dish. We also got nachos with toppings flooding the plate. Our service was impeccable. The bill was cheaper than expected which was a nice surprise. I can’t wait to come back!

Solid 3 stars for food, drinks, ambiance. The one star I took away was because I believe my wife and I were profiled. Came in ordered 3 tacos burrito and asked for chips and salsa. Right at the top of the menu it says«complimentary chips and salsa» . The food took a while, no biggy, there was big party came before us, but a white older couple also came in moments before us. Received chips salsa ANDGUAC, finished their meal, all before our chips and salsa came. Our order was placed within seconds of their order. The waiter didn’t even walk away from their table just shifted and took our order immediately after the table besides is. O and our order of chips and salsa didn’t come with GUAC. A younger couple with their two sons came shortly after us. ALSO received chips salsa ANDGUAC. Again not sure why we looked like a couple who wouldn’t enjoy GUAC. All in all food was great I enjoyed the food and even the salsa. But due to the profiling and slightly longer wait time… I’m taking a star away. And food was slightly better then average. But portions are decent for the price.

this place is packed on weekends! I came for dinner once and brunch one other time and preferred the brunch menu. i’ve had better tacos, but some of the items on their mexican brunch menu are AWESOME. Guac is solid and their drinks are pretty stiff as well. will be back!

I came here a few times for the tacos. It tasted good as usual. I did not like the fish taco. I think it lack flavor. The frites was good. I like that a lot. It was crispy. As for the drinks, it was strong. Just a little head up, the wait can be really long when you go there after 8pm. Definitely come here earlier if you can.

The place is really packed and small. I came here with a group of 8 friends on a weekday night around 7 pm. Dropped down my name, and seated within 20 mins when everyone is arrived on time. Ordered drinks, and corns, and nachos as appetizers, the drinks were alright, but the other 2 were great! Their tacos are fulfilling, must try their classic cali fish, sunset pork, and long beach all star tacos! They are fantastic! You wont regret it! Great spot to get lunch or dinner, but don’t recommend for a large group due to the limited space. The service was alright, overall, everything was great.

Had the grilled fish taco and the shrimp taco. Both were great. Fresh and delish… Considering I just popped in for a quick lunch alone, I think this small taco joint would make a great date night. Cool ambiance. Will be back.

Ho Brah is a little slice of Hawaii in Bklyn. I’ve been to this place many times and it never disappoints. When you enter your eye travels past the warm bar and cozy booths to the beautiful mural of the restaurants name on the wall. Surfboards hang above you and you can practically picture yourself surfing in Hookapai Beach in Maui. We ordered the delicious Bohemian taco with shredded chicken and delicious crack sauce. The second taco was the Diablo Shrimp packed with delicious lightly fried shrimp and slaw. Top it off with a Corona Light and you’re good to go. The menu has the usual Calif– Hawaii offerings from super nachos, burritos and empanadas. Extensive beer selection as well. The staff is young and kickin. Aloha!

Walked in Thursday night & people were crawling onto the steerer; this place is small and PACKED. Awesome customer service and sat at the bar drinking a bulldog until I got seated. Sick selection of tacos and they’re mouth-watering. Seasoned delightfully with lots of mouth feel and garnish. Burrito bowl was mediocre. The chips & guac were a great staple and the churros finished the night off well. Will definitely come back to this dive bar!

Came here on a Thursday night with friends and the place was packed! Cozy space, wish they had more seating. To start we ordered the Cali fish tacos. Melt in your mouth fish in a crispy crust paired with cool slaw and creamy dressing = yum. Definitely my favorite item here. Chicken burrito bowl was nice, came with plenty of guac on the side. Friend ordered the bulldog which came with a coronita sticking out of it-cute but cue brain freeze. I had the mango iced tea, sweet but refreshing and paired well with the food. We also had beef and chicken tacos, which came with a variety of toppings. Each one was fresh and the meat was tender and well seasoned. We ended our meal with the churros– warm, crispy and sugary, paired with a caramelly sauce that I wish there was more of. Overall decent place, definitely coming back in the summer for some grub.

A-OK place. TOO packed though. My best friend and I had lunch here on a Sunday Sometime in September of 2015. The food is good but I’ve definitely had better. We were sitting next to the bar which made us want to try a drink so we Had a BullDog which was pretty awesome. I think that the spot is cute but kinda too small for days that it gets packed. Maybe I will stop by here again soon!

Came here yesterday afternoon with the hubs for the first time. I had the quesadilla with grilled chicken and grilled vegetables and ate the entire thing. I thought it was awesome and I might have to go back today for another one lol. Hubs had a few different tacos– cod(California classic), shrimp and beef and he really enjoyed the cod– so much so he ordered an additional one. He also ordered a margarita which he wasn’t too impressed with and I had the lemonade, which basically tasted like kamakazi mix lol. So I would skip the lemonade and margaritas next time around and stick with the food– which was really, really good :)

The woman who answered the phone was really nice. The star is for her. About two days ago we ordered two Mission Bay Burittos and two orders of nachos with meat on it. The nachos hardly had any meat on it, and the Burittos had more rice than meat, and the spices changed as well. For $ 12 extra for meat they really should of added more!!! We felt like we gotten ripped off. We ordered from them before and we were very disappointed this time.

Great midnight snack since it opens til midnight. I tried most of their tacos since the price was pretty cheap. Their guac and chips were yummy! Definitely would recommend this place. Wait during weekends might be long because it’s pretty packed. It’s usually fast during weekdays!

This place has handsdown the most delicious food! Whatever it is that you pick I assure you that it will taste great! Same goes for the drinks, they are also pretty strong which I love. The food here isn’t so pricey which is also a plus! It’s child friendly, they have the cutest little cups for kids. I love and recommend Loco Frites thats what I usually get with mango margarita… Enjoy! The only negative thing I would have to say about this place is that its very small, it gets crowded very easily. So if you just want to go like a spare of the moment type of thing odds are you will have to wait for 45min-1hr and that really sucks!

I go to Hobrah pretty often mainly for their frozen margaritas. SOOOOOGOOOD. Their appetizers are pretty good too. Reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because their main dinner foods are not that great. Ehhh. Really nothing to brag about. The spot is small but not TOO small, decent and cute sized. Nice atmosphere. I would deff recommend for the DRINKS and apps.(pork quesedillas)!

TACOS?! YASSSSSSS! Who doesn’t love some good ol’ tacos?! And the corn, don’t even get me started! Came here with two of my friends around 1:30pm. Thankfully, the place was not so packed(However, it became packed when we were eating). When coming in, you can definitely see that there is a surfing theme, as there are surfboards hanging and the walls are brick, adding a nice touch. They also have these nice lamp lights on the walls near the booths, making it have a rustic charm(see photos below). For drinks, I ordered the Mango Bulldog(Mango Frozen Margarita with a Corona flipped upside down). It was $ 12. My other friend ordered the Pineapple Express. It consisted of vodka, apple pucker, cruzan coconut, sailor jerry rum and pineapple juice. My 3rd friend ordered fresh squeezed lemonade, which was $ 3.50. My drink tasted good, but I preferred my friend’s Pineapple Express than mines. For the fresh squeezed lemonade, it just tastes like lemonade out of a carton. I would recommend just getting the Pineapple Express. For appetizers, we ordered 3 Baja Street Corns(2 for $ 7.50 and 1 for $ 4). However, these did not come until after we were basically done with our entrees.(We had to remind them mid way into our meal where our corns was, as we said that we wanted it before our entrees. So, I had to take off a star for that. Sorry!) The corn was really good! My friend commented that there was a lot of mayo. If you’re not a mayo lover, I would skip it. Other than that, I strongly recommend trying them! Moving on to the TACOS! It so happened that we came in time for the Lunch Special. The Lunch Special consists of any two tacos(besides the daily special tacos) and jasmine rice with black beans and pico de gallo. I want to say that it was about $ 11. The tacos I ordered were the Classic Cali($ 4.25) and the Sunset Pork(3.75 and Gluten-Free). They were pretty bomb. Even the rice, beans and pico de gallo were on point! Would definitely recommend getting the Classic Cali and the Sunset Pork! SOGOOD! My friend ordered the Long Beach All Star(4.25) and the Diablo Diego Shrimp(4.25 and Gluten Free) for his tacos for the lunch special. He didn’t like his shrimp that much, but he seemed to like the Long Beach. He prefers Los Tacos No. 1 at Chelsea Market, however. Definitely check that place out too. They have some bomb tacos as well! My other friend ordered the Sunset Pork and the Diablo Diego Shrimp. She enjoyed both of them, just not the shrimp one as much. Overall, great place to grab some tacos. They have a great variety to choose from. Check out their menu online! I appreciate how they have gluten-free options for those that can’t eat gluten. Also, we can’t forget about the bomb CORN. Tacos + Corn = Life Complete!

This place is a friggin awesome experience every time and I have yet to let down a friend in recommending it. The décor is well thought out and makes me feel at ease, the service is good to great depending on the day, the food just right & the drinks perfect. I’m picky about one drink, the Bloody Mary, and theirs is the ideal balance of taste and texture and nice and thick. Definitely my favorite brunch or dinner out in Brooklyn; I can’t recommend it enough I love it!

Came in on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but that was expected. We put our names down and went to a bar next door to get started with a beer. We literally had one sip and the hostess found us and told us that the table was ready. Less than 5 min! Their margaritas are on point. Tacos are not that bad either. I usually don’t like crowded places when everyone is on top of each other, but I appreciate the fact that Bay Ridge has perks like this one, when you don’t have to take a horrible train to the city in order to chill.

I’ve gone several times. I brought my boyfriend recently but he wasn’t impressed and neither was my best friend. I think this place is over hyped, it’s constantly so crowded and the reviews people left gave me high expectations. However, it was a letdown for both my boyfriend, my best friend, and myself. The tacos really aren’t that great, they’re good and fresh but not fantastic. I think that their guacamole is amazing and the best thing I tried so far had to be their nachos. The food is always fresh as far as I’m concerned, or at least from my experience and I haven’t had any issues with the service. Would I go back? Yes, but only for the guacamole and/or nachos. Not sure what all the hype is all about. I don’t think their tacos are anything special although I wish I could say otherwise since I’m a huge taco person and would love to find a place that blows me away. This place however, just doesn’t – sorry.

I’ve been here for both brunch and dinner and I cannot say I’m ever disappointed. The tacos are delicious and there’s a large variety on the menu. On Saturdays and Sundays, they do Mexican brunch with tacos, egg scrambles, burritos, steak & eggs, and huevos rancheros. For the price of your entrée, which varies, you get your choice of a margarita, mimosa, draft beer, or unlimited tea or coffee. It’s a great deal — much better than you can find in most parts of Manhattan. The Egg Scramble with Chorizo Potato Hash is hearty and filling while being delicious. A bonus is the free chips and salsa that come with every meal!

This is a cute place to either come have a drink and hang out with friends or come with some friends for dinner or you could even go on a date if you really wanted to but it can get noisy in the night! It’s look inside goes for a California style with surfboards and pictures all over. I ate here twice. My first time eating here was a few years ago and I had one of the burritos. I can’t really remember which one exact cause it’s been a while and me and my friends shared nachos. We also had the bulldog. A bull dog is a corona flipped upside inside a mason jar filled with a margarita. I recently went there last night and I shared the nachos with my friend. I got two tacos. I got the americano and the sunset park one. The americano was with shredded beef and the sunset park one was with shredded pork. They were both really good and flavorful! I would defiantly come here again.

This was recommended by my friend. Finally got a chance to get there. I brought my mom there for a birthday lunch since we were to shop on 4th ave. The food is SOOooo good. The guacamole is fresh like the way I would make. the rice is just crispy(not mushy or underdone), very fluffy in fact. I got the stake and the shrimp burrito(naked) bowl, which was awesome. a nice spicy kick to it but enjoyable at the same time. The stake was very tender. I had the strawberry margarita, lol, it was much so sipped it away. Cann’t wait to go back. It’s a tight place so it’s good for a couple or a date, but not place to have a friends gathering.

It was a crowded night but luckily we dodged the crowd and seated fairly easily. There will be long waits for larger parties. The burrito called«the duke“was absolutely amazing and the portion is very large. Be aware of having a burrito baby after. The tacos were also very yummy. I would come back again.

Def my favorite brooklyn taco joint! I have been here several times now and it never disappoints(well food wise that is)! I do wish the restaurant was bigger. Coming closer to the end of the week this place can def get pretty packed. I myself have waited close to an hour to be seated or have left and have seen others leave due to the long wait. But other then that the food can be well worth the wait. You can’t go wrong starting with an order of chips, salsa and guac. The loco frites and the baja street corn are also pretty good. My fav tacos are the sunset pork, long beach all star and the classic cali. Have yet to try their desserts as I never have enough room left for it.

I love ho brah. I go often with friends. I just wish they had happy hour! There’s usually always a wait and they don’t take reservations. But I never mind grabbing a drink at the bar. I really like the cucumber margarita. But they have a few different kinds, and I’ve heard they’re all good. The guacamole is pretty good. I like their tacos, specially the one with cod and barbacoa. I’ve tried others as well and liked them all. Sometimes I also get the mission bay burrito In a bowl with chicken or barbacoa. It comes with beans, cheese, guacamole, salsa, rice and sour cream. It’s delicious. Ho brah is great place to grab food and drinks with friends.

Great taco-joint! Its a small restaurant with limited seating. The décor is cool with surfer pics. Their drinks are probably better than their tacos. You MUST try their frozen flight — 4 small margaritas served on a wooden tray. Their margs are great! As for their food — the guac is delicious! I wish they also served it with a salsa. The tacos are hit and miss… i’ve tried the Long Beach All Star, Sunset Pork, Diablo Diego, & Bohemian. the beef in the all star desperately needed seasoning — I put it down after 1 bite. The sunset has a sweet tangy taste. The diego could use a bit more spice. The bohemian has too much shredded chicken. I won’t write this place off because it is good, just not always great. Maybe next time I will stray away from the tacos and try something new. As for the service, my server did get a little lost at times but overall did an okay job. I will return. hopefully they redeem themselves.

I was craving tacos and decided to go to a local place to get some. This place has a charming interior with brick walls and a small bar inside. My husband and I ordered four different tacos(soft shell) and chips with guac and salsa. We ordered two fish tacos and two tacos with meat(pork and beef). The taco with the atlantic cod was pretty dry but the other three were great! Keep in mind that their portions are pretty big. I usually order two tacos where ever I go, but I was pretty full with one taco and some chips at this place. Place is pretty small so if you are planning to go there with a group I would suggest to call first. Enjoy!

Recently moved to Bay Ridge and found this gem on a night time stroll with the wife! I’d say it’s a pretty small, but cute place for a date! The food is really hit-or-miss in my opinion. I’ve tried a few things on their lunch special menu and either hated it or loved it. My all time favorite though is the quesadillas! My wife’s all time favorite is the barbacoa burrito! This has become one of our go-to places in the area! Definitely recommend it!

Another place checked off my list of bookmarks. What a cute place with a cool California twist. Surfboards, wooden/brick walls, Hawaiian floral patterns, frozen margaritas… a place you would expect on a broad walk. My husband, and I strolled in for lunch on a sunny afternoon, but the ambience was too dim, they should lighten up a bit to go with the beachy feel. We started off with an order of Guac Chips & Salsa(chips wasn’t free). The bowl of guac which seemed small at first, weren’t enough chips to dip them in towards the end, but for 9 bucks, it’s pretty pricey. D’s glass of Freshly Squeezed Lemonade was very tart, soon enough, the ice watered it down, and it turned out just right. We also had 2 of their Baja Street Corn, too much cheese to begin with, and lacks salt. A few of their items on the menu are a bit cheaper if ordered in pairs. They have specials everyday of the week, and since it was a Friday, I went for the Friday: Bombora. Large sized fish sandwich served with a side of home made potato chips. You taste the freshness as soon as you take a bite of the panko crusted cod, the slaw complimented it very well by the sweetness of the red pepper. On the other hand, the tacos weren’t what we expected, they were on the small side. The beef in the Long Beach All Star had chewy texture, not much flavor. The Diablo Diego stood out more out of the two tacos we shared, shrimps had a small kick of spice, I enjoyed the tangy pico de gallo. There were other items that caught my eye on their menu, like the naked burrito, pork empanadas and their brunch. I would come back for those and give Ho ‘Brah another shot.
