Went to water front before walked Brooklyn bridge. Went in here in spite of some lower reviews. Thought pizza was excellent. Got a Sicilian with toppings — bacon chicken and asked for spinach but came with sausage instead. Thought four of us would need large but after 1 order appetizer of meatballs we were wrong We couldn’t finish the pie — and that’s a shame. Thought price was reasonable considering touristy location right off pier. And staff was very friendly. Sorry Grimaldis but I thought this was better.

Yes cash only is annoying… However despite that the timing was perfect so we sat right away and therefore we also got great service and awesome pizza! Obviously they used fresh ingredients creating a simple but delightful flavor! Cons also include no refill on my coffee but plenty of water lol and I didn’t like that the hostess was wearing a crop top… Not while I eat PLEASE!

This pizza has absolutely no soul. The only acceptable reasons to come here are a) if you have a screaming two year old and can’t wait in line; b) if you have never been to Brooklyn before and don’t care about food at all or; c) if you just finished a hastily planned wedding in Brooklyn bridge park and need a table for 6 on a Friday evening.

My favorite pizza place in Brooklyn Heights and this is with Grimaldi’s just down the block. Better service, better pizza and just a better place than Grimaldi’s. Also no annoying pointless line.

Overall was pretty good experience. Walked in and was seated right away. Took a little bit to get our drinks but wasn’t to long. I got a Coke which came in a 8oz bottle that cost me 2.50. We ordered two medium pizzas and it filled 4 of us up. Doesn’t accept cards which kinda sucks but over all id come back again. Great food

I am giving this place 4 stars because I can’t do 3.5. My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant. We were seated right away and it took a waiter about 5 minutes to come over and take our order. Once our order was in, my husband went to go get cash being that it is CASHONLY. The ATM that they have was not working, so he had to go around the corner to another ATM. We ordered a medium pepperoni pie. It came out in a timely manner being that it is made fresh. The pizza itself was really good. However, the service was iffy. We got our pizza and that was it. No one else came over to see how it was and to see if we needed anything. By the time I got someone for napkins, he had to go get someone else to give it to us. Then I asked for a box and he had to go get someone else to wrap it up. We have now been waiting more than five minutes to ask for our check. The place is great. The environment is good and the food is excellent. However, they need more wait staff because the amount they have does not fulfill the volume of customers they experience. Also, a heads up… If you’re going to try this place with 4 or more people 20% gratuity will be added to your bill.

Pretty standard fare pizza joint and nothing too tasty here. I only came here because I was in the area and hungry and it was one of the only places that didn’t have a 50+ people line out the door. Bit overpriced if you are looking to buy by the slice and they only take cash. It’s strategically placed in a tourist spot so lines do form during prime dining hours but there are much better brooklyn style pizza places if you wander away from this area.

We arrived an hour ago as an alternative of making a line and we are still waiting for our pizza… With children waiting… Great meatballs as an appetizer but horrible wait…

Ignazio’s is an alternative for people who don’t want to wait in lines to get in. Instead, the waiting happens at every other part of the meal. Gratuity added — 20% — to parties of 4 or more. Cash only! After our seating, no one came back to us for 15 minutes. We ordered the white pizza which came back maybe 20 minutes later. It was good. We shared a medium between 4 people so the size was good too. It came out HOT! After our meal we sat around for another 15 minutes hoping someone would approach our table. At that point we asked for the check. But since it’s cash only, we had to ask for change. After a long time, someone comes back to pick up our money, but never comes back! We flagged down a server and asked about change. He replied, «I don’t know,» and walked away. Frustrating. Everything turned out fine in the end. The pizza was good. All the waiting was long. Gratuity was a little more than I would have given. I know they might have needed more help but still… I wouldn’t refuse to come back here… I’d just avoid it if I at all could.

CASHONLY but ATM available in the restaurant. The original plan was to try pizza in Juliana or Grimaldi’s. However, at 2pm we really don’t have much patience to wait on the long line for a slice of pizza. We ordered a medium white pizza with mushroom and two sodas, which is the perfect portion for two people. My advice is to eat the first slice asap without burning your tongue. The pizza came out steaming hot, but the first slice was the best. My third slice cooled down already and was not as enjoyable as the first slice. The flavor of the pizza is just right, it’s not greasy at all, and it doesn’t taste heavy enough that you would feel guilty about it. I don’t know how the pizzas are in Juliana or Grimaldi’s. Ignazio is definitely not a bad option if you don’t want to wait on the long lines.

Pizza is but the service was terrible. They told us they ran out of pizza dough and are only serving pasta. We got up to leave and they changed their mind! Nice going IGNAZIO’S! I’ll just stick to Patsy’s or grimaldis.

The pizza was good by the slice but nothing to write home about. The servers were friendly and definitely the high point of our experience, the food was just ok.

The food was great and the service is excellent. I’ve been here many times and it’s always a good place to grab a bite. I would recommend this place for anyone to go and have a quick lunch or a early date by the Brooklyn Bridge.

Let me start off by saying the owner Ignazio is one of the most rudest people I have ever met and I’m a life long New Yorker who can handle himself. My wife and I walked in with a stroller and wanted sit by the bar to order a few slices like we did a few weeks before. Today this jerk Ignazio said no we must leave out stroller with our 3 month old off to the side of we choose to sit at the bar which was EMPTY! My wife tried to explain that our son is just 3 months so we can’t leave him and we already had our stroller at the bar and he said no it’s not up for discussion. I asked him why he was acting rude and he said it’s not about being rude it’s about economics. He said it’s Saturday and his restaurant is a full house so we either take a table where we are forced to order a pie or we must leave. I just don’t understand why this Jerk is standing out front working with customers. This jerk Ignazio should be in the back mopping the floor or peeling the potatoes. I respect house rules but talk to my family like a human being instead of a jerk who has no business facing off with customers. Ignazio’s family should convince him to stop standing in the front door like a prison warden. What a jerk!!! What ever happened to the customer is always right?! It’s a shame that such a friendly and quaint neighborhood has a jerk like this as a proprietor. The next time I step foot inside this place is when I find out Ignazio is dead or retired and then I’ll come back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would … After a day at Brooklyn bridge park for the mets music festival, dropped by for what we wanted, pizza. But this was not pizza. 1st, the service was slow. And The staff was incompetent. We walked in wanting to just grab slices, because the babies were tired. But it seemed like they wouldn’t let us order slices(despite the huge sign saying, «slices»!) and instead they sat us in the dining area so we had no other option but to get a pie. Took about 15 mins for someone to come take our order for drinks. So when he came we immediately ordered«the pizza» with sausages. Waited about 35 mins before we got our pizza. I’m sorry but pizza should not take this long. It was not even busy! It was brought to the table and when I pulled the first slice out, the pie was soggy! The pizza was wet! The pizza dish had water on it. How gross!!! I was eating super soggy pizza. It was not appetizing when I cut up the pizza into bite size for my daughter. She had three bites and was uninterested in it. No one came to ask how our lunch was. I had to get up to ask someone for the check and the girl gave me a nasty look. Rude. I told my husband to not leave a tip but of course he didn’t listen to me. To me, this restaurant and staff does not deserve to be tipped. We will not be revisiting at all.

Loved the food. Definitely worth a few visits. Why did I not give it 5 stars? It is cash only, a little spicy, the plates had tons of scratch marks on them and the wash rooms left a bit to be desired. Can’t complain about the food though. Having decided I wanted a veg meal I got the tex mex pizza. It was delicious and spicy as promised. The honey drizzled crust made me eat the edges that I normally just throw away. The interiors of the place are nicely done. The crowd was a little noisy so don’t expect to have intimate conversations here.

My friends and I decided to come here after we were all exhausted and hungry from walking throughout the Brooklyn Piers. The atmosphere was really nice, like modern meets hipster. Clearly the establishment was understaffed as we had to wait 20 minutes for any service. What disappointed me about the place was that we didn’t get any water or beverages while we were waiting until 30 minutes later. I saw that the establishment had some empty seats but people that were coming were told they had to wait, so I saw these people leave. We ordered a The Pizza with mushroom toppings. The Pizza tasted okay, but splitting the pizza among 6 people was not filling at all. Taste-wise the pizza was more crunchy than most pizzas I’ve tasted. Personally I found this pizza overpriced especially with the total being around $ 30. Though the pizza was big, the slices were not very small and not worth the price of 30 bucks. I also ordered a lemonade for about 3.50 thinking it was homemade sadly what I saw was them putting an excessive amount of ice into a cup and pouring lemonade that came from a carton you would find most supermarkets. Our overall total came out to be around $ 50 minus tax and tip

What’s with all the bad reviews? Thanks to a friend who never checks Unilocal,we stumbled into this place after seeing the lines for Grimaldis and Julianas and were pleasantly surprised. Sure, the wait was still long even though we were the first in line. Sure, they told us 5 minutes when in reality it was 25. Cash only and pricey pizza… but hey, it was good! We got the special: avocado bacon tomato. It wasn’t really anything special but it was pretty tasty. I got a cappuccino which took a long time also. But maybe that’s their trick: make you wait a long time to get your appetite roaring.
