On my quest to find the best Cuban Sandwich in Brooklyn, I stumbled on this restaurant in this part of Sunset Park. The décor is more family style eat and leave kind of place. So I decided to order my sandwich to go. The sandwich of the meat was very well flavoured with a big hint of garlic, pork meat itself was very juicy and tender. The pickle, melted cheese and the ham all complimented very well in this Cuban. Will be back for more

I love this place! Whenever we want good tasty Spanish food we end up here. Almost everything on the menu is delicious. My favorite though is the pollo soup. It kept me going through the cold New York winter and I had it again today on a warm sunny day, it always hits the spot. The service is good too!

Our food came quick. Ordered pork chops with white rice and beans. food was good even my daughter loved the pork chops lol The food was pretty decent and decently priced! The sex on the beach drink was pretty strong ;-) which i give a thumbs up! PS every time we come here the server is amazing she’s so sweet and pleasant and always welcomes you with a smile

Great food, great pricing! Real authentic Spanish food. Tight space though, wouldn’t bring a big crowd. If you order rice beans and chicken all three items come on a separate plate. Thought it was a bit odd. That’s what prevents space at the table as well. Other than that great space. Favorite meal was white rice, red beans, plantains and pork chops.

I love this place. The food, service and price are amazing. I sometimes think that my mother is in the kitchen cooking. Never had food where it tastes like hers. Love going there. Will be back soon.

Was ok for the price. Food took 40 min to get delivered. I live 6 blocks away. Chicken with rice was a huge portion and was pretty good for around $ 9. Got the mofongo too but that was a little dry I think. Cuban sandwich was not bad for around $ 6. Biggest disappointment was the burger. It was really plain and tasteless. Prepped like a school lunch burger, really sub par. I guess the food is hit or miss depending on what you get. But 40 min for the delivery makes it a tough choice in the future.

I’ll admit — I came here on a food tour but it was worthy of a rating for one thing alone. The cuban sandwich. I’m usually not a huge fan of a cuban sandwich, but count me a fan after this when they’re made like this. Roast garlic, succulent delicious roasted pork, etc. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back.

Very good authentic Spanish food, nice size portions great menu. They have everything an more. Very nice cook he’s always behind the grill making fresh breakfast. Mmm there mangu the fried cheese the turkey bacon the home fries mmm mmm mm delicious. Good Cuban sandwiches an all made with love. The restaurant is a decent size so you won’t feel cluttered an on top of everyone else eating. Servers are all sweet an on top of there duties. It’s block away from sunset park an if your coming with a crew it’s a good spot to walk off the calories an enjoy the view of the city. Very beautiful Overall it’s a definite spot to come eat some yummy perfect Spanish food.

This restaurant is really mediocre if ya ask me, and does not quite measure up to the 4-star rating. The chicken soup I ordered cost me $ 9 with a side of white rice which is erring more on the expensive side for soup. The soup itself ran a bit bland, and I am accustomed to my sopa de pollo bursting with flavor. It was fine, but not great.

Lovely restaurant with lots of Dominican and domestic options. Awesome for breakfast — for $ 5 you can get plenty of food for 2 people!

Came here on a Brooklyn food tour. Got the Cuban sandwich which was mouth-watering delicious!!! Nice warm, pulled pork, ham, and pickles. The roll was tender yet didn’t fall apart. Surprising considering how much they put on the sandwich. I’m thinking about going on the tour again just to get this sandwich!!!

Was looking for puerto rican roast pork and found out they had it. You have a choice between pernil asado and pernil sandwich. I decide to go with the sandwich. The perni was well cooked and flavorful and the bread had unique garlic bread flavor so it was interesting mix of flavors. Would definitely recommend of you want carribean food.

I ordered the family chicken dinner with rice & beans & fried plantains & found it well seasoned. Didn’t have to wait very long for the delivery.

It’s the great food, generous portions, and overall family feel of Internationals that makes it a sunset park staple. If you want authentic home-style Dominican and Puerto Rican cooking, this is the place to go. Every time i bring a friend to this Brooklyn gem, they end up bringing one of their friends or family to try it. It’s well worth the trip to sunset park(the park is up the block and has a gorgeous view of the city). They have a pretty full menu, with many variations of classic dishes. .The portions are like going to your abuela’s house on a Sunday, HUGE they are never cheap with their ingredients, and I almost always have a doggy bag when i go there. My favorite is their Soupy rice dishes, they can feed 2 people easily and full with flavor. Their mofongo seems to be the favorite amongst my friends, along with their peppered steak and peril. Their pasta dishes are also very good for those the vegetarians in the group. There is something on the menu for everyone. Internationals has a very family atmosphere, locals fill up the counter top spaces waiting for their take out. Their sit down area is a nice size and they are very good at accommodation groups even at their busiest. They have 2 large flat screen TV’s that are almost always on their sports or Univison(The best is to come in and see everyone glued to the screen watching their favorite novela.) To sum it up, International is a winner and a true staple of the sunset park area. If you want to show someone what real Dominican/Puerto Rican food is about, this is the spot for you.

Yummy roast chicken and rice and also home fries but I would skip the cuban sandwich and scrambled egg with ham next time. Definitely a good spot to come since it’s rare a place opens so early but wouldn’t come so far from home unless I’m in the area.

I love to order food to go from here because it’s still as delicious as it is if you were sitting down at the place. Can’t go wrong with there octopus salad. Love that and barely can find it much in restaurants especially when you really want it. There broiled chicken is really good and juicy. Steak and onions is always great and also there fried pork chops are delicious too! Cooked and crispy! YUM. All rices are good and don’t forget the beans! They have specials on soups also which I love coming for there Sancocho! Best Spanish soup around in my choice and its served everyday too. Love the service and waitresses. The owner is always there he’s such a nice guy and always wants to make sure you enjoyed your food and service.

I have been coming to International since I was about 5 years old and living in Brooklyn. I am now in my mid 20’s, living in NJ, and I still make the trip out to the Sunset Park area for International’s delicious food! I have not found any Latin food restaurants that even come close to International in the surrounding areas of Brooklyn. Their portions are perfect, everything is super tasty and seasoned deliciously, and the employees are very sweet. I also love the ambiance of the inside of the restaurant and particularly love their downstairs dining area — great for parties, too! My family and I have been loyal to International for years and I absolutely see this continuing for as long as they keep their doors open! My favorite dish: Chicharone de pollo sin hueso con arroz blanco y habichuela roja(fried white chicken chunks with white rice and red beans)

Come Hungry. This place gives you a lot. So much to pick from. Great Food. Dominican Spot but also so much more than just your dominican food. This place has been here for years in Sunset Park and looks like it is going nowhere.

do you wanna eat? are you needing a big meal? do you want it to be amazing and understated? then COME to BROOKLYN! maybe I shouldn’t write reviews while I’m missing New York. but hey I gotta catch up on my Unilocal YO! do I love this place, yes. do I miss this place, yes. first off potions are big. and I appreciate that. food is super consistent. Latin food can go wrong but this place never does. my meal always consists of. pork, plantains, and mofongo with a side of red beans. maybe even a piña colada! don’t be skimping on my whipped cream. we have often taken food to go, brought it to my family’s house and we have a feast! everyone loves some Latin loving.
