I loveee C & J just like everyone else! BUT! The line is always long and the cashier is the pits lol! She’s just not chatty and do NOT attempt to linger at the register. And you’d better know what you want as well. Food is always fresh as the turnover is crazy! Pretty much everything is tasty. Carrot juice is on the money! I prefer the Utica location over Flatbush.

Love their jerk chicken and macaroni salad but the jerk chicken is a little to spicy for me

I love C&J’s… my girls put me on to this spot 2 years ago… and I seriously became addicted… I think most West Indian’s know about C&J’s because their food is soooooooo good!!! OMG… I just finished having my stew kingfish dinner… with rice & peas… macaroni salad… cucumbers/tomatoes…and I can barely move… its so good… When I ate meat… I couldn’t get enough of their stewed peas…(peas with stewed pigtails) for my non West Indian readers… may sound gross to you… but we grew up on this and the way they make it… should be against the law… you’d swear there were drugs in their food… Every single item I’ve had from them was extremely tasty…(Fried Chicken, Oxtail, Stewed Chicken, Escovitch Fish, Macaroni salad is to die for). All meals can be bought in a small/medium/large…and come with your choice of white rice, rice and peas… plantain…macaroni salad, garden salad, avocado, etc… The line is always LONG! 3pm, 7pm, 10pm, midnite… that should tell you that their food is on point… Walk up to the cashier to place your order FIRST… get your receipt… sit down.(or stand)…and wait for them to call your number… if you’re lucky… you’ll be out in 10 – 15 minutes… PS — they opened an additional location– C&J’s II on Flatbush & Church Ave. I haven’t checked that one yet… but will keep you posted… For real… Jamaican cuisine. that will never fail you… C&J’s is the spot…
