If i could give 0 stars. Ughhhh terrible the delivery guy did not have change for 20 $ There was a problem with what i originally ordered through Unilocal (the item was sold out) so i ordered something else paid for a large and got a small and the fried plantains tasted like rubber… Never again. Unprofessional and rude phone service.

Great Jamaican /​Caribbean place on Broadway under the Chauncey Street J stop. One of my favorite places I’ve tried in the area so far in fact. Friendly staff, great curry chicken, ox tail, all the things you would expect from a Brooklyn Jamaican spot. Good sized portions for the price. Never had trouble with slow service like the other reviewers noted. Heads up — they run out of jerk chicken in the earlier afternoon. Ask for some gravy on your rice and peas.

I am so torn in reviewing this place.
For one, I absolutely love the plantains and vegetables here! I usually order the ox tail or curry chicken, both are decent, not amazing.
However, the service is absolutely miserable. The girl who always seems to be working when I go inside never correctly hears me, doesn’t seem to put in any effort in her job, and has a careless attitude. She also charges me for a full meal if I just get a side of plantains. I would eat here much more often if I didn’t have to deal with her.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I ordered a boneless chicken Roti and chicken soup. They called me to tell me they did not make soup that day. I’ll take the trip to Ali’s on Utica when I want real Roti! and I had seamless adjust the price because I didn’t get the soup. 1.5 hours later the delivery guy comes and of course I discover that the chicken in my Roti IS NOTBONELESS!!. Horrible. Ordered some food to be delivered for lunch through seamless. I ordered at 12:38 and got my food 2 hours 15 mins later. I called an hour in and they said the food went out already. Sorry for the delay. I get another phone call 20 mins later only for the delivery guy to say he’s at a completely different location because he thought they said a different street that sounds similar to where it was supposed to go. I called them again and now they won’t pick up. I called 4 more times and they just let the phone ring. I had to call the driver and then he said oh yeah I’m 5 mins away.
Waste of time and money.

This place was a few blocks from where I was staying while visiting NYC. I ordered the $ 10 portion of the jerk chicken, which was big enough for 2 people. I originally wanted stewed chicken but they ran out. The food was very tasty and still warm by the time I made the 4 block walk to the apartment I was staying at.

Pretty decent Jamaican food. If you know Jamaican you know you should order with your eyes not with the menu. Go with an open mind and get whatever looks fresh. Whatever you get make sure you get extra gravy, BBQ or Jerk sauce on it.
The ox tail, and jerk or stewed chicken are good.

I don’t know what resturant the prior two reviewers were eating at, but this is my favorite spot in the neighborhood for takeout. You can’t go wrong with the curry chicken (boneless is my go-​to), the oxtail stew or the jerk chicken. The callaloo is cooked right, the plantains are tasty, and the roti is a perfect vessel for the slow-​cooked, rich sauces that stand out about jamacian cuisine.
Delivery-​wise, they’ve hired recently and now get online orders out quickly. That said, I recommend dropping in — Wally and the rest of the staff are warm and welcoming, and there’s no doubt you get more oxtail gravy on your rice and peas when you’re standing over the server.

If I could give no star I would.
Ordered Oxtail, it had no sauce a full place of greasy rice and hardly any meat.
