I’ve been here a few times and I must say what deserves this place five stars is the service. There is one guy, I think he’s the owner, who was always very nice to my bf and I. He would talk to us about the menu and about the establishment. I’ve tried EVERYTHING on the menu, since I was pregnant and had no self control when it came to eating. Most of the food is good but with such friendly service, It feels great to support a nice local business. I look forward to going back once I loose the baby weight.

REALLY wanted some bbq ribs that I didn’t have to cook myself and this came up in Unilocal.Luckily, it was still before 8 so I made it in time. It’s a small place right on Flatbush. Ordered pulled pork sandwiches and two rib and chicken combos for me and the family. The price was a little high and it took a few minutes to get the food together, but that was ok. The fries were delicious and the sandwiches were great too. The ribs were wrapped and smoked. Ooh! The only problem was that once the chicken got cold, it was rubbery. Will definitely order again, but no chicken.

I discovered Joeper’s while searching on GrubHub and ordered a rack of ribs. Fantastic!!! I’ll definitely order from them again. This is the best barbque in Flatbush.

Incredibly disappointed. I have a difficult time describing the flavors. I know its supposed to be smoked and BBQ but it just tasted aas through they burned stuff. The prices were higher than deserved. Small portions. My daughter enjoyed the pulled pork. I didnt. I will say this, the staff is incredibly friendly. Genuine good folks. Unfortunately the food isn’t as friendly to your palette as the people to your heart.

OMG I have never in my life had worst smoked food. The ribs tasted like mustard and were try and no taste of a dry rub. The brisket which you can’t buy by the pound was sold to me on a bun. Sauce was good but it was small pieces and no taste of smoke or no crisp anywhere. This is hands down the worst Bbq I ever had.

Great fries, good mac, decent burnt ends. Tiny spot, maybe you can sit and eat somewhere if youre lucky but more likely eat in a car. I would definitely come here again for anything on the menu. I dont know what the style is but it seems true.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Small place don’t expect to eat in there. You can eat outside on the pic nic table on warm weather but everything Ive had was fantastic… That’s what I call BBQ. I have eaten BBQ in 7 different states across the country Colorado, California, Utah, Kentucky, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, and this is fantastic BBQ. Please don’t tell anyone its good because they’ll be a line out the door and Ill have to wait for my good BBQ.

We’ve been craving BBQ. Not the fast-food stuff. The real deal, plate smells like wood smoke, belly bursting with meat, hands dirty with sauce kinda stuff. Joepers totally hit the spot. We got brisket sliders, a ribs and brisket combo, mac and cheese and bread pudding. It was all sooo good. And for us, enough food for a 2nd meal. Folks noted the fries were soggy. They get steamed in the take out container. Still, they seemed hand cut and were tasty enough that we didn’t care. Tomorrow I’ll crisp the leftovers in the oven. The mac and cheese was creamy and gooey. We had both the sweet sauce and tangy sauce. I really can’t decide which I liked better. Both were great. The bread pudding was a perfect dessert to match the smokey tangy dinner. This is our second time ordering here. We’ll be back.

Stopped here for lunch today. I have to admit I was a little skeptical but am happy to report I was pleasantly surprised. I had the brisket sliders and they were delicious. We also tried the hush puppies and bacon Mac and Cheese. Everything we got was delicious and very well flavored. The only thing I would ask for is some type of sauce for the Hush puppies. But overall this place is great!

Hey, the Smoke Shack is back… and that ain’t wack. Place was closed for a spell due to personal reasons, but now it’s back and as delicious as ever! If you ain’t(that’s Brooklyneese BTW) been there yet, or went and the place was closed, get your pony in gear and go get some ribs, some chicken, some pulled pork or whatever your stomach desires and have a feast!

It’s okay at best. I thought it was going to be good since there were a few who drove all the way from Bay Parkway and 86th Street just to get some BBQ. I was charged 6.50 for a brisket sandwich. However the sandwich barely made a dent in my stomach. & I do not get a lot. It really was just a snack. I felt it was not enough meat in the sandwich. The bread also was nothing memorable, just taking out of a plastic bag from the store. For that price I should be at least 75% full. If I go to any random New York City deli and get a sandwich for 650 I will be full beyond compare. In addition to this, the BBQ sauce was nothing to rave about. It was mediocre at best. Sorry.

I had Joeper’s bookmarked for some time now, and was waiting for the right moment to visit. I pass this little corner BBQ spot often. I called in advance because it was closed down due to a personal issue. Definitely grinning from ear to ear once it was confirm BBQ was open for business! Upon entering, it’s smaller than I thought, Kinda of like a food stand… however there was a couple of stools facing out the window. The owner was very kind and welcoming. I ordered the rib and brisket combo with a side of mac & cheese and the Bourbon bread pudding for dessert. The ribs were good. Nice dry rub. I prefer a fatter rib personally. The star of my meal was the bread pudding! MMM I am certainly revisit! Joeper’s Smokeshack is back!

After the soul-sucking activity of going to Kings Plaza to get some stuff for an upcoming trip, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Joeper’s since I’ve had the place bookmarked for ages but never really had the chance to visit. We came in on a sunny Saturday afternoon with the place empty except for another customer picking up an order. The owner(the only person working that day) was pleasant and chatty inside the tiny shoppe that’s adorned with out-of-state car plates and other memorabilia. The place invokes a down home vibe in the middle of busy Flatbush Ave. The food: I had the Brisket platter and my boyfriend got the Chicken/Rib combo platter. His order was delicious but mine was lacking/overkill in several areas. My brisket, while cooked well, was overshadowed by the too-tangy sauce while the meat was flavorless and seemed un-marinated. The fries were on point, however, or as the youngsters say these days: on fleek. Overall, this place wins on some dishes– like any meat with the bones still intact, but skip the brisket and I’m guessing, the pulled pork. I want to go back and try the brisket burnt ends next time.

My order was small but the taste was big. 6 buffalo wings to go, packaged in a mini styrofoam container, steaming hot. The deliciousness was from a few distinguished flavors I can point out: 1. hardwood smoked, 2. A very good balance of spices including hot sauce… Sorry I’m gonna have to stop here because I am already getting the urge to go back but I’m too far away. Would I love to make this at home? Yes, but as much as I would like to, I don’t think that one can perfect it like Joe.

It’s okay but nothing to rave about. My fiancé and I were driving on Flatbush earlier today and spotted a shop that said«Smoke Shack.» We were just talking about being hungry so my fiancé asked me to look at the menu. We were happy to see it was on seamless so when we arrived at the house we logged on and ordered. My fiancé had a combo of ribs and wings that came with fries and 1 sauce. He picked the tomato based sweet sauce and really liked it. He loved the ribs. But was also quite fond of the wings. I’m sure if he were to write this review he’d give them 4 stars. As for me I ordered the 3 pulled pork sliders with fries and coleslaw with sweet bbq sauce for $ 9. The portion was Impressive considering the price. The pork had a perfect smoke to it and wasn’t dry. They were good. I only ate 1 and am looking forward to the rest so there’s something. I also ordered a side of bacon mac and cheese. To say it was bad would be an understatement. The noodles were so overcooked that I couldn’t pick them up with a fork without them falling apart. They were mushy and filled with onions. No strong cheese flavor and the bacon was practically non-existent. I am unsure how it could have been that overcooked considering we ordered only an hour after their doors opened for the day. The hush puppies were pretty good. They were quite dense but also quite dry which was a shame. They were also very spicy. They were a good portion for the $ 3.50 price tag and I’m excited to make honey butter to spread of them when I get home. They needed something to balance out the kick. On seamless we were told it would take upwards of an hour for delivery but our food arrive within 20 minutes which was a nice surprise. I wish the menu had more variety and that the mac and cheese wasn’t so disappointing.

Decent. Not amazing, not horrible. It’s an ok spot for BBQ. The food was laying in a foil bin. The meat was ok. The ribs were not meaty but the brisket was fine. Service was slow even with only 2 people ordering. They were dealing with phone orders and issues. I was not impressed with the place but I didn’t hate it.
