La Cucina Italian Specialties

This place is a shame in several ways because the food is pretty good. They have good variation in food each day which is nice. However, the bad outweighs the good, with the main problem being how they are a ripoff.
The price of the same hero, wrap, or breakfast sandwich is always different. The customer should not have to uncomfortably ask if it’s the right price when I order something I’ve ordered before. I have ordered the same thing and it would be 7 dollars one day and 8.50 on another. If it was 8.50 every time I would even feel better. I go here because the options are limited where I work, but there are times I go on several week boycotts from this place after
a day I know I was ripped off. They would have made much more money from me otherwise.
As far as the catering, they are overpriced. I have ordered large heroes and food from places of the same quality that are priced so much more reasonably.

La Cucina is not just the title of George Costanzas off Broadway play, its also a legendary Italian deli in the heart of Bensonhurst. More years ago than I care to think about I worked down the block from them and would eat lunch from here a few times a week. They change the specials daily and list them on a chalkboard outside. On Fridays they have outstanding seafood items and on Saturday they have several specials as well though a bit more limited than the week. I have had many of the cooked dishes and the salads, excellent olives and homemade Eggplant Caponata. Outstanding heroes, my two faves are the Sausage and Broccoli rabe and the Chicken Parm which blows away any of the pizza spots in the area.

Sat here to have a egg, cheese and avocado sandwich for breakfast. The sesame bread is good. Nice and crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside. The eggs were fluffy and the avocado was fresh too. They don’t wear gloves while handling food which is horrible!
But While sitting here there were many customers who were regulars coming in and joking with the workers and seem have been back repeatedly. Didn’t have any of their lunch or catering food. But it seem to be a hit. Place looks clean just wish they wear gloves.

I can write a comment every time i eat something new there. They really surprise me. Amazing.

We couldn’t be more impressed with La Cucina– the food was excellent, arrived on time and was piping hot. It was a huge hit with the whole family! The owner, Dominick, even delivered and set up the food himself. We will absolutely be ordering from La Cucina again and look forward to many more family meals with their delicious home cooked food.

Dominick took great care of my wife and I when he catered my wedding back in May 2010. We had food delivered HOT to New Jersey all the way from his place on 18TH Avenue in Brooklyn. All of our guests were raving about the food! I want everyone to know that the food at La Cucina is great in quality and you can count on Dominick and his crew. I also had a big birthday party in February of 2012 and Dominick came through again. We will continue to use his place for future parties and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of high quality!

I came here with a fellow Unilocaler, Anthony C, whome has been enjoying La Cucina’s culinary delights for years! Upon entering, we were greeted like royalty. Anthony proceded to ask what was good today. Freshly made turkey breast, with a side of cuban rice, some homade broccoli rabe and asparagus with garlic. Loaf of semolina bread on the side of course!
A cup of coffee and some cookies to complete the meal, and I was ready for a nap!
The counterman, Phil is a super friendly guy whom will put together anything you want. The ownerm Dominick is usually hanging out in the place, so say hello if you see him.
I have heard they do some amazing catering, however, I have not had the pleasure as of yet.
